A recent update broke some pages and code. Since the site rebuild should be out within a few months, we’ve decided to leave it be for now. We apologize for the inconvenience on the interim.

FursuitReview is a website dedicated to showcasing reviews for Fursuits, fursuit parts, Makers, and other costumes or materials related to the Furry fandom, as well as the experience working with each. Reviews are also mirrored on the FurAffinity, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and subreddit.

You can view the newest reviews and newest maker added on the sidebar on the right. Otherwise, main navigation is done by the navigation bars at the top or bottom of the page. See all reviews, all makers with reviews, or sort by completion time, price, the year the item was made, or the review’s rating. There is also an advanced search.

Please read the rules before commenting or submitting a review.

About FursuitReview

FursuitReview is a website dedicated to showcasing reviews for Fursuits, fursuit parts, Makers, and other costumes or materials related to the Furry fandom, as well as the experience working with each. Other communities have existed for reviewing fursuits and their makers, but they have all become inactive for one reason or another. FursuitReview tries to fill that void while also offering things previous groups did not.

Other groups focused on only fursuits. FursuitReview allows reviews of single parts (ears, paws, tails, etc.) as well as non-fursuit clothing such as Kigurumi. The group also allows follow-up reviews on fursuits and their parts to see how well these commissions are built and hold up over time.

FursuitReview wants the importance of a review to be the fact that it exists. We don’t want you to ask “Should you write a review?” We want you to ALWAYS write a review, no matter how biased you think you will be, how old your fursuit is, or how long you’ve owned it. A review is always relevant. As long as you follow the rules, a review will be accepted. Reviews help everyone in the community, including yourself. If you have the time, write a review!

In addition to this website, reviews are also mirrored on the FurAffinity, Tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter accounts.

About the Page Owner/Admin

FursuitReview is run by Bornes. Bornes is a long-time follower of other fursuit reviewing communities and has owned his fair share of fursuits. After being frustrated by the other communities’ inactivity, he decided to make his own group, which also led to making this webpage.

Bornes is not active in the furry fandom outside of FurAffinity and some local meetups. He was a collector of fursuits and is currently into all costuming. He is not a maker and does not claim to be an expert about anything. Bornes is interested in helping out the community by collecting reviews for others to make informed purchases and to allow makers better and more transparent communication with their previous and potential customers at large. FursuitReview can hopefully be used to influence your potential purchases… Or not. It’s your decision, as always.

FursuitReview is 100% AdFree and currently a labor of love. Donations would be appreciated if you enjoyed using the site.

If you don’t wish to make a direct donation, you can also support the site by buying something from our Amazon Affiliate store, Fursuit Gear.

FursuitReview (FSR) is currently running a fundraiser until the end of September to help pay for the rebuild of the site! The goal is 350 USD. You can donate through our Ko-Fi page, directly to the paypal email bornesfur at gmail dot com, or by buying things from the Amazon Affiliate links at ! Thank you for your consideration!

FursuitReview began in August 2015 on FurAffinity. A website quickly followed, but wasn’t noteworthy until its first redesign in 2016. Since then, the admin, (Bornes on FurAffinity) has learned a lot and would like to redesign the site again.

Your donations will pay for:

– The last 2 years of hosting
– The current year of hosting and the next 5 years of the domain name
– Payments made to developers for various things over the last 2 years (most notably the review form and advanced search)
– Purchases for the redesign:
– – Paid version of the current layout
– – Paid version / upgrade of one of the key plugins the site uses (Content Views)
$350 pays for only these things, and does not account for my personal time. If the goal is surpassed, it will be considered to pay for this.

What will happen if the goal of $350 is not reached?

The site redesign will still happen, but it will be much slower in happening and the new layout will pull forward focus on donations and advertisements. Donations will not be refunded; any amount helps, even if the goal is not reached.

Currently, there are 2 out-of-the-way donation buttons on the site and one out-of-the-way page dedicated to Amazon Affiliate links. If the fundraiser fails, Google Adwords will likely be incorporated into the new layout as well as more focus on Amazon affiliate links surrounding reviews.

I can’t/don’t want to donate. How can I help?

You can click on our Amazon Affiliate links at and buy those items, or any other item on amazon within ~20 minutes of clicking one of our links.
You can also tell all your friends about our fundraiser on all your social platforms to get as many eyes to view this as possible!

What does the site redesign entail?

The reviews are basically transferred to a whole new site that is built again from a base WordPress installation. I do this because I want to integrate the following things, which really is much easier (but still ridiculously time-consuming) by just starting over:

– Incorporate tags which will allow you to sort things such as:
– – What country the maker is in / what currency they use, species of fursuit/part, deadlines met: yes/no, reviewer has prior exp with fursuits: yes/no, payments in installments: yes/no, etc. (suggestions welcome)

– WAY BETTER SORTING. No more individual pages, it will all sort in the page while you’re looking at it via filters. This is the main reason for the redesign. I cannot make an FSR-specific example, but here is a demo. The entire site’s layout will be redone to work with this new functionality.

– Review viewing restructured so you don’t have to click through all those tabs. (Also the removal of “Maker Response” tab if there is not actually an official maker response)
– FAQ and all informative articles/posts rewritten or deleted
– Category pages will be merged with maker pages instead of the confusing thing we have going on right now (current confusion ex: maker page vs. Category page)

– The advanced search will be either deleted entirely or hidden. It will be replaced with a query search (similar to how google works) so it is less confusing.
– Pretty links enabled (no more ?p=## links)
– General site optimization and improvements (mainly for speed and ease of readability)

Additionally, these are planned features but are not guaranteed to occur:

– Subdomains for every single maker, e.g. Currently this is only done on request and only one maker has requested it. I would like for it to be automatic for every maker as they are added to the database. Due to number of subdomains required, it may not be possible with my host provider at the pricepoint needed.

– Restructuring of how things are categorized. I would like to shift to “This costume contains: [parts]” instead of the generalized “fullsuit, partial, other stuff” thing I have going on now.

– Writing more knowledgebase content (such as how to buy a fursuit, fursuiting 101, etc.)

– Actual forms for contact issues instead of forcing mailto links.

– Review form rewrite/recode

– Better news distribution system and actually using that distribution system, instead of relying on FA Journals

– Better comment system on website (suggestions welcome)

“Since you’re redesigning the site, I have some suggestions…”

Suggest below in the comments! OR use this to submit your suggestions/complaints: (no email required)

Otherwise, if you’d like to ask something in private, the quickest way is to email , but you can also note Bornes on FurAffinity (the admin). Direct messages to the FursuitReview twitter are answered by either myself or a helper that wishes to remain anonymous, but if you would like to reach me (Bornes) specifically, you can direct message my personal twitter, CityFursuits.
But again I stress that emailing will give you the quickest response. I am also the only one who looks at the email. Thank you for all your support (monetary or otherwise) and happy reviewing! <3

PS: FursuitReview will continue operating as normal and you can continue submitting reviews!

What is wrong with FursuitReview? What do you not like about it? What makes it hard to use?

Do you not like the review form? Do you not like the rating system?
Does it just not have a feature you want?
You just want to suggest something be added?

Please let us know by commenting here! Alternatively, you can use this form: (no email required)

Thank you and happy reviewing!

Even though it’s only been a few days since the big update, it was decided that RedditJS just wasn’t going to work for comments. FursuitReview has moved to a new system now. And this time, it should hopefully stay. You can comment as a guest or by logging in with another social media account.

I’m a “greymuzzle” fur who after being in the fandom for 25+ years finally had a fursuit made of one of my characters. “Komos” was created by Artslave; I wore him at Athrocon the beginning of the month – – and had the time of my life.

I’m also a published writer covering pop culture and animation for publications like the NY Daily News and the entertainment industry website Animation World Network ( I’m currently writing Furry Nation, a history of our fandom as well as a look at the presence of anthropomorphism in non-furry contemporary society (literature, art, etc.) and throughout human history. ( ) I recently signed a contract with a publisher who plans release Furry Nation in the fall of 2017.

The book will include my experience as a ‘suiter and Artslave’s as a professional suitmaker. I want to write about other suitmakers too, particularly people who are working on or just finished their first suit as well as others who are just beginning to make suits for other furs.

I’d greatly appreciate it if you could put a notice on your site inviting people to contact me via this Email address, or pass word along to anyone you know who might be interested in speaking with me. (If you can suggest other websites for me to contact I’d appreciate that as well.)

Thanx much!

Best wishes,

Apologies for the delay!

Here’s what’s new.

For Everyone

NEW RULES. Please check them out.
– New rating system labels. Yes/OK/No replaces Pos/OK/Neg.
– Visual improvements with pretty much everything.
– Categories now listed under review dates for most review listings.
– New category: Year Made! Sort by year the item being reviewed was made.
New FAQ.
– New comment system on the website. Comments are served through Reddit.
– Speaking of Reddit, new subreddits: /r/FursuitReview and /r/Fursuits for off-topic chatter.

– Maker pages are treated differently. There is now an information box that contains aliases, websites, social media, etc. There is an “update?” button that directs to email. Anyone can update maker contact links. Example.

For Makers

– Get your own url that links to reviews for you. Click that link for more info.
– You can now give an “Official maker response” to a review. See here for more info.

For Reviewers

NEW REVIEW FORM. Same questions, different/better presentation and easier to use for everyone.
– You can update/change past reviews. More info here. This also takes place of what used to be called YR+LTR.

In addition
This is not new, but you should check out the list of short URLs for easy linking to others! =)

Please email or comment any links that are broken, or if something is acting fishy. Everything should be running a whole lot smoother, but it is possible something was missed during the update.

Thank you everyone for your constant support and happy reviewing!

Aloha April FursuitReview fans!

It’s been a great month and we’re happy to celebrate our 9 month anniversary!

Here’s the news:

– We quietly rolled out to replace The link will always work so you’ll still find places that link you to it, but the main site is now a much easier to type =)

– New rating system labels! [POS] for Positive, [OK] for Neutral, [NEG] for Negative. All of the reviews and documentation have been updated on Everywhere else will only have the change for newer reviews.

Twitter, Tumblr, and FaceBook have new and/or better automated postings of fursuit reviews that link to the website and not the FA. Twitter and Facebook still have people behind them, but the workload has been significantly lessened because of this (Tumblr is 100% automated and will continue to be). Still, the preferred method of contact is by email.

– The Makers page now has a search bar at the top. It will pick up any aliases a maker has and display the correct page associated. Helpful if the maker you want to find has gone by a lot of different names and Ctrl/Cmd + F has failed.

– Short URLs! You thought the last update had short URLs? makes them better! – About page – All reviews listed on FursuitReview – FurAffinity page – FAQ page – Review forms page – All makers reviewed on FursuitReview – News page – Fursuit reviews sorted by price – Fursuit reviews sorted by rating – Rules page – Advanced search page – Fursuit reviews sorted by completion time

– Last but not certainly not least – quite possibly the most important update:

The site will still be up and viewable, but emails will not be answered and reviews will not be posted. There’s only one admin of the website currently (me) and I will be on an internet- and work-free vacation in May.

Thank you everyone for your continued support and HAPPY REVIEWING! <3

Hello everyone!

FursuitReview started in August 2015 with a very simple site that was sort of an after-thought. After some time on FA, it was decided that the website should get more attention, and on January 30th 2016 the new site was released.

At the moment, FursuitReview is still mostly concentrated on FurAffinity, so here’s the downlow on how the new site works:

Comments can be made by signing in through another social media site. Currently, the ones supported are: OpenID, Twitter, Livejournal, Reddit, WordPress, Blogger, and If you don’t already have an account with any of these sites and would like to comment, I’d recommend Reddit, as it does not even need an email address to sign up.

Comments on the website are only allowed on news & articles and are closed after 30 days. Comments on fursuit reviews are only available through FurAffinity. If the Furaffinity account is ever banned, comments will open on the website for fursuit reviews (but only on newly posted ones) and the closing policy will be revisited.

New Features

The website keeps all the features it always had, with the addition of a sort by completion time and an advanced search. A knowledgebase was also added, it is the home to uncommon informational articles posted here and some helpful links out about fursuits.

On the right sidebar, you will now find a “newest reviews” section and a “newest maker listed” to help see what is new on the site.

Short URLs

New shorter URLs were added so the most-visited pages will be easier to remember and get to without so many clicks.

/all – All reviews posted so far, unsorted

/makers – fursuit maker list

/forms – review forms page

/price – sort by price

/rating – sort by rating

/knowledge – knowledgebase

/articles – informational articles

/faq – frequently asked questions

/news – site news

/fa – Furaffinity page

These are actually redirects, so they will not remain in the addressbar once the page fully loads. Because of this, if you use these pages frequently, you must memorize these URLs.

Enjoy and happy reviewing!

Rules & Guidelines

Rules for Review Comments

Rules for Review Comments

  • Be courteous. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated.
  • Please do not comment on the written quality of the review. For many reviewers, English is not their first language.
  • Do not criticize an item’s quality in relevance to its monetary value. This means any “you get what you pay for” or “you should’ve expected this at that price” are not allowed.
  • If you have a problem, email
  • Do not harass, belittle, or attack ANYONE on any page due to content posted here.
  • Please keep your conversations on-topic if you can help it.
  • Active, participatory, adult-level conversation and discussion is welcome.
  • No name-calling or blatant insults.
  • Comments must be in English.
  • Comments may be disabled at any time for any reason, but commenting is still encouraged.

Rules for Reviews

Rules for Reviews

  • Only items that were bought direct from the maker can be reviewed. They can be used, but you must be the first owner aside from the maker.
  • Reviewable items are: fursuits, custom-ordered one-of-a-kind wearable furry-related items (such as kigurumi, throws, socks, etc.), and items used to create fursuits (such as head bases, paw pads, and claws). You must have physically received the item in order to review it on FursuitReview.
  • You must have owned the item for 3+ months OR worn it 30+ hours, whichever comes first, in order to leave a review. This will give you proper time to assess the pros and cons of your item.
  • If your purchase is out-of-the-box unwearable or unuseable, you may submit a review one month after you have last tried to contact the maker. If you refuse to contact the maker, you must wait the full three months before leaving a review.
  • Every review must have at least one clear photo associated with the part(s) of the item(s) being reviewed.
For example, if you are leaving a review for a head and paws but you only have a photo of the head, you will either need to provide an additional picture with the paws or leave out the paw portion of your review. Photos of the items being worn is preferred, but not required.
  • Do not blatantly insult, belittle, or harass the maker you are reviewing in your review. Criticism is okay, mockery and hatred is not.
  • Please be as concise and as accurate as you can! The more pictures, dates, and description, the better.
  • Avoid personally identifying information (address, phone number, real name if it is not posted publicly elsewhere, etc.). Concentrate on the maker’s business and publicly-available information instead. Your review will not be refused if you include PII, but you may be asked to censor it before it is publicly posted.
  • If you are a fursuit maker and wish to leave a review, read this first.
  • Reviews will only be removed if: the review is found to be breaking the rules; the review is proven to be fabricated; removal is requested by the original submitter with good reason.
  • By submitting a review, you agree and allow it to be posted to and all its social media accounts: FurAffinity, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and Reddit. If you do not want your review posted in these places, do not submit a review.
  • If you do not want your review associated with your name, you may submit your review anonymously. Links you provide in the review will either be removed or anonymized before the review is posted publicly.
  • The submitted review must be in English. (Linking to other language reviews in your English review is ok).
  • If you have a question about the review form, are not sure if your item qualifies to be reviewed, or otherwise need help or clarification, try searching the FAQ and/or email

Repercussions for Violations

Everything is dealt with on a case by case basis. Reviewers violating review rules will most likely be told to correct their reviews before it will be published. Commenters will generally be dealt with via a “3 strikes” rule, where the third violation results in a block from further commenting. The “3 strikes” is not guaranteed, however, and a person may be blocked on the first offense if deemed necessary.

If you have a question, comment, concern, correction, or suggestion, please do not hesitate to email
