[YES] Taz Poison Fullsuit by Starslikeroses
General InformationGives some information about the item and the person writing the review.
Updated (20 Aug): Proud to say that I have now worn my suit to four different events. ^_^ There’s really nothing to change about the review; the only thing different about the suit is that I now wear a MorphSuit underneath it. And that I discovered that I can wear clothes (such as dresses) over it.

HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
The head fits perfectly. 🙂 It was made with a fox blank from DreamVisionCreations and so is proportioned very well. I have considered adding more padding to the moving jaw, but after practicing in front of the mirror, I think her mouth opens just fine. 🙂
Ventilation is better than I thought it would be, and having an open mouth is just wonderful. I didn’t ask to have a fan put it. I’m pretty used to the inside of mascot/fursuit heads.
Vision is a little less than how I thought it would be, as I generally don’t work with toony eyes. I got used to it very quickly, however, and just today I did a photoshoot on top of a firetruck. I was comfortable climbing around it and I always knew where I was and what was around me. 🙂
Symmetry is awesome; no complaints there. Shaving impressed me– I thought Roses would use two different furs for this, but it appears that she merely shaved the fur. I myself have never had much luck shaving fur– one of the reasons I gave up making heads. 😛 But this… This is lovely. 🙂
Fur feels nice and soft. Artist used minky in the ears. Feels like a baby blanket. Also, there are hairstyles that attach to the head via magnets. I chose not to wear any hair at the event I entertained at today, but she used sparkle fur for one style that looks super cute.
The one disappointment I have with the head is the airbrushing around the nose and eyes. It feels fine, but up close, I think it looks almost like there’s dirt on the face. Luckily, most people won’t notice; perhaps thinking that the paint around the eyes is make-up. After all, Taz IS a girl!
The expression is sooooooo cute. And when she opens her mouth, it’s even cuter. I got about a million “Oh, you’re adorable!”‘s today on the head. The eyes are toony but follow-me. Not a STRONG follow-me effect, but I like it. 😀
Yeah, it matches the concept art. And even if it didn’t I’d still be happy.
Roses and I put our heads together on how to get Taz’s eyes to light up. I had a terrible idea– put ‘blind’ white eyes from DVC behind the toony eyes and then make the vision through the tear ducts. But it was Roses who had a stroke of genius– cut the WHOLE eye part of the mask out, put in toony eyes, and install LED tape wire (I think that’s what it’s called?) around the inside of the eyes. Really, really, REALLY cool effect. Also, it doesn’t hurt my vision and I can perform just fine it. 🙂 Eyes also have three settings– static, slow blink, and fast blink.
Quality doesn’t bother me one bit. The battery pack is comfortably housed in a pocket on the inside back of the head.
BodyGives information about the main body of the costume. If reviewing a separate set of pants/legs or torso, the answers would also go in this section.
Oh my God. It’s like a heavy pair of pajamas. So cuddly.
What I love so much about this fullsuit is that the bands and tattoos were HAND-SEWN by Roses herself. Hand-sewn details are just the best. Only thing is that it’s tough to get the zipper up and down; I have been practicing this and yes, I have trimmed a tiny bit of fur. I know that as time goes by I will get more and more used to it. Airflows nicely through it. I think. Haha. I’ve been doing this so long that the hotness doesn’t bother me one bit, so I can’t really tell someone with no experience what the airflow is like. 😛 But it certainly is not uncomfortable.
Again, everything matches and I’m very happy that she left the fur long. 😀
No airbrushing, just nice hand-sewn details.
We had a discussion about the specific color choices before work began, so no problems there.
Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.
WOO! Hands! The handpaws, in addition to being adorable, are also fully functional. I was able to climb a firetruck, play beanbags, steal hats off of people’s heads, and shakes hands. I have no idea how she lined these things, but they’re so comfy that I just might wear them as gloves come winter! 😀 I was a tad worried about the feet. They are “stompy” feet, which, historically, I have had bad experiences with. However, the difference here is that I had the feetpaws made to my shoe size. They feel like a pair of slippers and have non-slip soles on them. I am extremely pleased with them. Now, being stompy, they don’t look quite right as a partial, but what the artist doesn’t know is that I have a special pair of monster-feet shoe covers in black that I intend to use when wearing Taz as a partial. I totally planned ahead! Also, the feet are lined with fur. Thus the “slipper” feel to them. And the toes and rainbow pads make them extra adorable. The bodysuit flows nicely into them.
Extremely impressed with the shaving on the hands/fingers. I’m a little concerned about the silicone paw pads falling off; I don’t know how they’re attached. I’m assuming that they are sewn down, and if so, they should hold up well.
These paws feature tiny black claws on the ends of the fingers. The claws a bit… I don’t know. Some of them kind of face different directions. They seem to be glued that way. This is NOT a complaint; just an observation. It doesn’t bother me because no one else will notice. The most important thing about performing in a lavish costume is that your audience won’t notice the stupid little imperfections. So the claws, along with the paint on the face, are not what I was expecting, but will not affect anything I try to do as Taz.
Okay, the left paw has a squeaker in it that I asked for. Squeaks nice and loud and is a GREAT way to communicate inside the costume. That squeaker was a HUGE hit today, and I think it will be at other events too! The squeaker doesn’t inhibit the use of my hands, nor does it get in the way of putting the glove on.
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
Tail was made by PawStar– I sent it to the artist to use as a reference.
Big and fluffy; has a wire in it. Again, it was NOT made by Roses.
