If you have sold the suit/parts since this review, how much did you sell for? Put N/A if not sold or leave blank if you decline to say.
Did the maker meet your deadline?
Did you tell the maker about any issues you had?
No, since I felt a bit discouraged to tell. More on this later.
How many hours have you worn/used the item(s) you’re reviewing?
Give your best estimate.
9-10 hours I think
The head itself is very comfortable to wear; nothing pokes or stabs at all, however it is not lined fully. The whole eye area is not lined, and I have the foam in my face, which I am a bit disappointed about. It just doesn’t seem so professional.
The ventilation is actually really good. I can breathe perfectly fine and as the jaw is open, the hot air gets out and the cold gets in. Ventilation went over my expectations.
On the sale post, the vision was said to be amazing, however, it wasn’t. The vision is VERY limited, and it reminds me of the vision in a resin head. I have to move my head a lot to get an idea of my surroundings. However, there is no blind spot, so that is a plus.
The markings are pretty simple, so everything is very symmetrical. The jaw is crooked, though. It looks very off and kinda ruins it a bit for me. I could not see this in the pictures of the head.
When I was buying it, Sarahcat stated in the description that the backing was visible some places on the head, however, its not very much, so I’m quite satisfied there.
There are a few hot glue smears on the muzzle.
The head is grumpy and lazy-looking, which I really love. I like how it looks overall.
The head is easily slipped on and off and is easy to wear. I don’t need help with getting it on. The neck is short, I can tuck it into a shirt/hoodie, but it will undo itself as soon as I move my head. This is disappointing, as I really think it ruins the magic to have the neck of a fursuit head not tucked in on a partial.
There are some flaws on the head;
The nose was, after one, three hour long outing, halfway fallen off on one side. I had to reglue it back on, which was easily done. (Picture of the other side, where I haven’t glued it back on: www.dropbox.com/s/qjr2emha4hv2s24/20160331_153623.jpg?dl=0 )
There are two holes by the base of the ears, one on each side, where I can touch the foam. There is also two more holes in the mouth where I can stick my finger in and touch the foam base.
The fur doesn’t seem to be fully glued down on the base, I can lift the fur with two fingers multiple places at the head, an example would be between the eyes.
One of the eyes isn’t glued down completely too, I can stick a finger in between the fur and eye, all the way in, so I can touch the buckram. (Picture: www.dropbox.com/s/ykd13cspp18kryb/20160331_153617.jpg?dl=0 )
The handpaws were HUUUGE. I couldn’t have them on without them sliding off. I think she should have stated in her description that they were a fit for large-Xlarge hands. My hands are medium sized.
Since they had no paw pads, I gave them to another maker who would add paw pads and make them a little smaller. When she turned them inside out to sew them, the claws fell right off. They were barely glued on, she said, which I can agree with, as I could feel that the claws weren’t glued that much down while I was wearing them.
They weren’t sewn very well either, they were very basic and simple sewn. That goes for all of the suit, its all sewn the same way. I’m afraid a seam will pop soon, because its so basic sewn. (pictures: www.dropbox.com/s/kmwrcukkbebobqd/20160331_153655.jpg?dl=0 (neck of head) www.dropbox.com/s/uae6qqrhiau1bfz/20160331_153828.jpg?dl=0 (paws) www.dropbox.com/s/bgjas0bhb3d3z4a/20160331_153854.jpg?dl=0 (tail))
They are rather big, but after the paw pads were added, they look much better. There’s a lot of space in the fingers, so they mostly just flop around when I wear them, which is rather sad.
The quality of the paws is definitely not the best. They are pretty cumbersome too, due to the hugeness of them.
The tail is nicely stuffed, its very wag-able, and super soft. It only got one belt loop though, making it a bit difficult to wear, as I am used to two belt loops. The number of belt loops were written in description. The base of the tail looks pretty awkward though, since there’s a black piece of fabric closing the tail, and not fur.
Very cute, it wags when I walk!
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
The colours are very nice, so are the markings. It fits together very nicely look-wise.
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
It was easy to contact them to buy the suit.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
The response time was very quick, which was nice.
How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker?
Were they pleasant to work with?
Now this is why I didn’t go to my maker.
Her overall attitude made me very uncomfortable, for some reason. She answered all of my questions, but she seemed like I was wasting her time. This feeling she gave me made me iffy about contacting her again, after my first outing with that suit where I got dizzy fast. I suspected there might be dutch tape inside the head, but I didn’t ask her, because her attitude made me uncomfortable.
(There aren’t dutch tape inside, as I’ve worn it again without becoming dizzy)
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Its decent quality, some minor flaws that pull down on the score, but it is wearable and cute, so not disappointed.
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker?
I feel that it could be worked on. I didn’t feel completely comfortable and welcome.
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Considering her age of 16, she did a good job, but there’s a lot of place for improvement. It was a neutral experience, and I wouldn’t mind buying again if she improved.
I think she have the potential of becoming a great and big maker, so I’ll definitely be following her and I hope she will read this review and use it for improving.
