Did the maker meet your deadline?
My deadline was Eurofurence in August this year. She meet the deadlines.
Did you tell the maker about any issues you had?
After reading the notes we exchanged, there are details that I missed. I had some issues at the end of the project as I asked at the beginning for whiskers, I paid extra to have them. In the original “end” picture they were missing and I needed to ask to have them put and I felt a bit of resistance from the maker.
There was an issue I sadly missed which was the hair of my character but this was something I modded lately.
How many hours have you worn/used the item(s) you’re reviewing?
Give your best estimate.
The head fits perfectly. I sent my head circumference at the beginning of the project and it fits really good. It’s not too tight or too lose. It’s really comfortable to wear due to the padding. I can easily get in and out of it.
Vision is really good. No peripheral which is expected. I need to tilt my head downward to see but that’s also expected due to the muzzle. For the rest, the vision is clear.
The symmetry is great. Nothing to add.
The shaving job is good.
The fur is high quality very soft and durable. I played with other types of fur and this one is really perfect.
I commissioned my maker based on another project of hers of an otter toony head. The base is exactly the same. Only the colors and details needed to be added (horns and whiskers). So the expression was the one I expected from the beginning.
The eyes are follow me eyes.
The head matched 80% of the concept art before I modded the hair. Now it looks 95%. I will need to make the whiskers longer though.
I had chosen with the maker what type of horns. We had discussed resin but I was afraid of damage. We went for plush. The horns are made in vinyl and stuffed. They are attached to the head via glue/sewing. They don’t move or fall off. The quality is ok. There are a bit of imperfections on the seams but nothing to be concerned of.
The tail didn’t came with a belt. This is something I needed to create. This makes it easier to fit. The tail is not too heavy and was really comfortable to wear and really fun. I got really good feedback on it. The tail tips slightly touches the ground but this was expected (visible in one of the pictures).
The tail in its itself is great quality.
Symmetry is ok.
No shaving was necessary in this case.
It feels and looks great.
The colors and materials are what I asked for.
In the concept art, there were 5 fins. Those were added as extensions. They are durable and fit perfectly.
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
I’m somewhat satisfied. There were some issues that I’m working to solve myself but those are things that can be solved easily.
I would say that the suit was following the art at 85%
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Very easy. I got fast response. We set everything up in a couple of hours. The down payment was paid during those.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
It was good. Response time was usually a couple of hours.
How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker?
Were they pleasant to work with?
In the beginning it was great and we had a good connection.
In the end, things weren’t really the same. I felt a bit of resistance and fatigue about some of my requests about things we had agreed in the beginning.
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
Very satisfied. It fit perfectly into the deadlines.
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Very satisfied, good quality.
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker?
I’m mixed here for reasons already stated but overall it was “good”.
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Personally, working with this maker was great. I learned afterwards that this maker had some issues before my project and they have an artist beware. Also, they let down a friend of mine which had commissioned me at the same as I did and made him wait till March before cancelling the project and refunding him, making him look at other makers and incurring emergency fees.
So I’m a bit mixed in recommending this maker. Quality is great and very professional but the customer service could use some work.
