HEAD
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the head of the costume. If you are reviewing only a set of ears, your answers would also go in this section.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
Are you satisfied with how it fits you? How is the ventilation? How is the vision?

The head fits fairly well. I can say confidently that nothing is too tight. The head was a bit too loose upon receiving the costume, but was easily adjusted by adding a little bit of foam to the inside of the mask. Sometimes there is a part of the resin base that presses into my cheek if the mask tips too far to one side. This problem is fixable by quickly readjusting the head on my face. The moving jaw on the head works very well. I was thinking that I’d need to add some sort of elastic to hold the jaw shut when I’m not talking, but it actually stays pretty well shut if I situate my chin in a certain way.

The mask is resin-based and relatively small in size, so it breathes quite well. Even without a fan, I am comfortable for long stints of time. This is convenient, because initially Temperance missed that I had added a fan to my commission form. She was kind enough to install it during the first day of Anthrocon.

The vision in the head is surprisingly good. I would say it is better than or on-par with the vision in my foam-based toony head. Unfortunately, if a light or sunlight hits the tear ducts at the right angle, my vision is completely whited out and I am unable to see. This was not a major issue, since I can adjust myself or turn away when this happens.

Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume piece looks from the outside.
How is the symmetry? Is the shaving even? How does the fur feel and look? How satisfied are you with the overall expression and appearance of the head? Does it match the concept art?

Cricket does not have a lot of markings on his head, but the ones that are there look good. Sometimes the ring around Cricket’s mouth can look a little awkward in artwork, but Temperance achieved the look very well. The only airbrushing on the costume is on Cricket’s head, at my request. It adds just a little more realism to his look, and is very subtle. It does make the fur on the face more coarse, but not so much so that it is unpleasant to touch. The nose is covered in airbrushed fleece, which I thought was a unique and good-looking way of doing his nose.

The shaving on the fur looks very good. I believe that only the head has been shaved. The fur on the face is very short, and looks good. There are no places where you can see the backing. It lies nice and flat when brushed.

The head is fairly realistic, which is in sharp contrast to my previous toony head. The moving jaw and different angles of the head can be used to achieve different expressions. The eyes are resin follow-me eyes, and work well.

Special Attachments and Features
Please describe how satisfied you are with any extra features your head has.
What are they and how do they work? How easy are they to wear? How is the quality?

The head has detachable resin antlers. They are build on screws and are twisted into place. This allows for me to adjust their position, even when I am wearing the suit. I am able to remove them when I am wearing the fursuit if I need to. I have not tried putting them on while wearing the full costume, but I imagine that I would be able to in a mirror. Sometimes I am a little paranoid about them getting crooked, so I do ask my friends if my antlers are straight every now and then. On the outside, they look fantastic. There is no mistaking what animal I am with them on.

The downside to the antlers are that they make the head somewhat top-heavy. If I’m not careful, leaning too far to one side or the other can make the head slip off to the side. Also, being that they are made of resin, I do have to be conscientious about where my antlers are. I am very short, so the antler tips fall at the height of an average person’s eyes. So far, I haven’t injured anyone with them, but there have been some close calls. In the future, I think I may make a pair of soft or smaller alternative antlers for events in tight quarters.

BODYSUIT
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the body of the costume.
If you are reviewing armsleeves or legs/pants that are seperate from a bodysuit, your answers would also go in this section.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.
How satisfied are you with how the body fits? How is the quality and durability? What is the interior like? How is the airflow?

The body is an impeccable fit. It’s not too tight, so I can move around comfortably. Yet, it appears to be fairly form fitting in photos. The digitigrade padding is made from shaped polyfill pillows and is very comfortable and easy to move in. From watching videos of myself in suit, I believe that it looks just as good as it feels to move in.

During my time at Anthrocon, I did not feel that any damage was caused to the suit. The seams appear to be very durable, and I never felt as though I was putting too much strain on them.

The body is not lined (and I don’t imagine most people would line their body-suits?). The collar of the bodysuit is lined with fleece, so it is very comfortable on my neck while I am wearing it. I would also imagine that the warmth of the suit is about average. It is definitely a struggle to wear in summer heat, but a cool breeze through the suit is enough to offer some relief. I am eager to wear the fullsuit during the cooler months, as I expect it to be a lot easier.

How is the symmetry? Is the shaving even? How does the fur feel and look? How satisfied are you with the selection of colors and materials used?

Temperance was spot-on with all of Cricket’s markings from the concept art. His design is asymmetrical, and I was concerned about the costume coming out TOO symmetrically. Temperance wowed me with the accuracy of her craft. She even noticed that the brown on Cricket’s two shoulders did not drop down to the same position.

The fur that was chosen for my costume is very soft, and just the right length for my character. I have discovered, after wearing Cricket over Anthrocon, that the fur is even softer after being washed. The fur looks good and is brushed easily. The type of brown fur mats a little more easily that the white, so I end up only needing to brush the brown parts most of the time. As far as I have noticed, there is no shaving on the bodysuit.

Special Attachments and Features
Please describe how satisfied you are with any extra features your bodysuit has. This includes UV reactivity, EL wire, uniquely placed squeakers or padding, clothing made specifically for the costume, or anything that is sewn into the bodysuit.
What are the features and how do they work? How easy are they to wear? How is the quality?

The digitigrade padding is made from two polyfill pillows per leg that are stuffed into place when wearing the costume. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear. The bodysuit is sewn in a way that the larger hip pillows mostly stay in place on their own. The hocks (lower pillows) are held in place by velcro. In the future, I can expect that I may need to replace the velcro with snaps or something more durable. I also may need to restuff the pillows at some point in the future, as they are looking a little flat after Anthrocon.

Temperance was also kind enough to include tiny resin dew-hooves on the backs of Cricket’s heels. It was a very small detail, but I’m glad that she added them. She also sent extra dew-hooves in case I happened to lose the ones that are currently attached. Everyone who noticed them thought they were adorable!

HANDS AND FEET
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the hands and feet of the costume.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
How satisfied are you with how the hands and feet fit? How is the quality and durability? What is the interior like?

The hands are probably the only notable downside to my fullsuit, but I am still happy with them. From a distance, they look pretty good. The hoof caps are resin, and are actually not all that heavy to wear. The wrists of the hand-hooves are lined with Fleece which helps to keep the weight of the hooves from pulling them off.

Up close, I am a little disappointed with some characteristics of the hooves. The fur fabric is stuffed and glued into the hoof caps, rather than over the sides. There is an upside and a downside to this. The upside is that the bunching of the fabric inside the hoof caps helps to keep my fingers from floating around inside of the hands, and my dexterity is increased by it. the downside is that when looking at my hands up close, you can see the edges of the cast resin hooves, which I feel would look better off covered. I think the only reason this bothers me is because the hand-hooves I made for my partial are made similarly, but with the edges of the resin hooves covered. Unfortunately, the hands sometimes pull loose from my fullsuit sleeves. They don’t feel too short, but they may benefit from another inch or two of fabric to keep them from slipping free.

In contrast, the feet look and feel superb. They are built on slippers and are very soft and cozy on the inside. They fit very well, and I did not have any trouble walking around in them at Anthrocon. They are probably one of my favorite parts of the fullsuit.

How is the symmetry? Is the shaving even? How does the fur feel and look? How satisfied are you with the selection of colors and materials used?

I kind of combined a little bit of of these questions with the last. Regardless, I think that the hands and feet look pretty good, especially in photographs. The fur on these pieces is the same as the body, and is not shaved or airbrushed.

The resin hand hooves are large and very good for making clippy-cloppy noises. I found that people really enjoyed that. As far as I noticed, even with all of my clip-clopping, there are no scratches or damage to the hooves.

The feet hooves look awesome. They flow very well into the digitigrade padding when I am wearing the fullsuit, but they also look good when worn as a partial piece. The ‘hooves’ are made of a flexible, durable foam. They did not get any noticeable dings or holes during the convention, and I was able to clean them easily.

TAILS
The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the tail(s) of the costume.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.
How satisfied are you with how the tail(s) fit? How is the quality and durability?

My tail is not even physically noticeable when I am wearing it because it is small and nubby! It is not connected to the bodysuit, so I have to wear a belt with it inside of the fullsuit. Once I have it on, I can forget about it. It’s far up enough on the suit that I don’t even feel it when I am sitting.

Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.
How is the symmetry? Is the shaving even? How does the fur feel and look? How satisfied are you with the selection of colors and materials used?

Temperance used a longer pile white fur for the tail, at my request. It looks very cute, fluffy, and all-around appropriate for a whitetail deer. The marking flows very well into the markings on the bodysuit.

I can also shake the tail and it looks super cute when it’s bobbing around!

OVERALL VISUAL SATISFACTION
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with the overall visual aspects associated with the costume.

How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
I am very satisfied with the costume’s likeness to his character reference. This is my character brought to life, no doubts about that!

How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
As a whole, the costume looks gorgeous. All of the markings match up perfectly.

MAKER INTERACTION AND COMMISSION PROCESS
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with all the aspects of communication between you and the maker.

How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Initially, when asking Temperance for a quote, she responded in the same day. Her correspondence throughout the next year was just as good.

How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
It never took longer than a day or so for Temperance to get back to me. I could not have been happier about this.

How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker?
Were they pleasant to work with?
I could not have chosen a better maker for my fursuit. Temperance was always willing to entertain my questions and comments. She was honest when there was a concern that she might not complete my suit by the agreed deadline, and it takes a lot of bravery to be able to step up and say that.

How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
The deadline for my suit was Anthrocon 2016, and the costume was at my doorstep two weeks prior to the convention. This gave me time to get to know my costume prior to the convention. There was a brief period of time where Temperance admitted that she could not make any promises about getting it finished in time, but she pulled through at the beginning of June.

How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
I was, and am very satisfied with the finished product.

How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker?
I am very satisfied with Temperance’s customer service as a whole. Her good response times, in combination with her friendly and professional demeanor made this a very good experience. The fact that Temperance was willing to take time out of her convention to install my fan (and help a few of her other customers) says a lot about her dedication to her clients.

Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Cons? What cons? Any of my minor complaints about the suit are easily fixed or ignored. The final product is gorgeous and accurately represents my character. Temperance was very easy to work with, and I feel that I could comfortably approach her with any questions and concerns in the coming months as I learn more about my suit. I would certainly come to her again for commission work in the future, and I would highly recommend her work to anyone looking for a high-quality fursuit.
