Are you reviewing a friend?
Do you have any prior experience with fursuits?
No, but I had some costume experience from cosplaying before this.
Character Concept Art
We went over the character design and confirmed it face to face. There is a physical concept art but we are not sure where it is right now.

Give your best estimate.
I am very satisfied with the head. It fits perfectly. I wear glasses and it fits even with my glasses on. I wear a wig cap with it to keep my hair up and that seems to work just fine. The head is pretty lightweight. It stays on straight most of the time without sagging forwards. I have noticed that being a problem when trying on some other heads.
The ventilation is good. It has a fan that circulates the air and keeps my glasses from fogging up as well as keeping me relatively cool. The mouth is easy to open and serves as extra ventilation when needed.
Initially the vision was not very good. I did let the maker know this and she was able to improve it. Vision is not the greatest simply because it is a semi realistic head with tear duct vision. Once she improved the vision for me it was better.
The markings on the face are a bit lopsided but I do not really have an issue with it. Being that I wanted this fursuit to be realistic, and sometimes cat’s markings are not exactly symmetrical, I feel that it is fine.
The shaving is even. I love the fluffy ears and get a lot of compliments on them.
Nothing was airbrushed. The fur is nice and soft. I do feel that the fur quality is not the best since it does get messy easily. The white fur is better quality than the grey fur which can be noticeable. The grey fur does look better when brushed.
I love the expression on his face and the eyes follow when viewed from an angle. I feel that his expression is accurate for a cat.
The eyes have LED lights. I did not want to pay extra for these so we did it cheaply. The lights are at times wonky and flicker because the connection is not the best. I don’t really have a problem with this since I did not pay a whole lot for it and I really only use the LEDs once in a while.
The fan has a special pocket for the battery pack so it is easily accessible to turn on and off and change the battery.
The head was initially finished and I really wanted whiskers so I came over and showed her where I wanted the whiskers placed. They have stayed in place and have not had any issues with them.
The hands were bought as a gift from another maker and my maker installed the paw pads on them. I have had no problems with the paw pads.
For the feet, they are comfortable and soft. They have paw pads on the bottom which can make walking awkward at times but I expected this. I requested outdoor paw pads on an indoor foot which just has a foam base. I feel they are very nice feet.
Seams are durable. Nothing has fallen off. The feet are lined on the inside with a soft cotton fabric. The claws are nicely secure and I don’t have to worry about them falling out.
I have not noticed any markings on the liner. They are not built off of shoes at all and were made entirely of foam.
The feet are perfectly symmetrical. The toes and bottom are shaved and transition nicely to the longer fur. There are no markings. The paw pads are silicon and the claws are resin and they match the paws and claws on the hands.
The tail was initially too long and dragged the floor when I walked. She was able to fix this by putting a wire in so it is bendable so it won’t drag. The tail has a zipper so it can be cleaned easily. I really like the end of the tail that is super fluffy.
The only marking is the tip of the tail and it is symmetrical. No shaving on the tail.
There is a squeaker in the tip of the tail. It also has an articulated foam core which also allowed for the wire that was added in.
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
I came up with a design and she followed it. It was a grey tuxedo cat without white paws and the suit matches the description I gave her.
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
Yes, everything matches up. I can’t see any seams and the grey matches throughout.
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Very satisfied. She allowed me to do a payment plan and pay for some things as we went. She broke down the quote for all the items so it was easy to know how much each thing would cost and what I was paying for.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
Within a day. I admit that I sometimes did not respond right away due to being busy with school but her responses were usually quick once I did reply.
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
I was very happy that she was able to complete it in time for Megaplex 2015. I actually had the fursuit prior to the convention and the only thing left to do was add the whiskers at that point.
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Very satisfied and I will be having her make a full suit for me in the near future.
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service and professionalism of the maker?
Very satisfied, she gave quick responses.
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Pros were that I know her well and was able to meet up with her often for fitting and discussing options. She sent me images to show me the progress and she looked for my feedback for a lot of the designing.
