If you have sold the item since this review, how much did you sell for?
Did the maker meet your deadline?
Bought as a premade, but asked about getting armsleeves added which were completed the next day and the package was shipped out.
Did you tell the maker about any issues you had?
I have not.
How many hours have you worn/used the item(s) you’re reviewing?
Give your best estimate.
This was a premade that was meant to fit a head a little larger than mine. On the plus side, it fits my glasses well. I had some issues with the head sliding forward on my face whenever I would work the jaw or after wearing it for more than ~15-20 minutes. This made it hard to line up my eyes with the viewports and move the jaw so I added stiffened felt around the top/crown of the head which has lessened the problem. Since it was premade it wasn’t necessarily custom fit to my headsize, that’s just what I encountered and how I fixed it.
There isn’t any lining other than some foam padding in the top of the head and where your chin goes for the moving jaw. As a result, the head would be worn with a balaclava for optimal comfort and to hide the wearer’s own face (the picture should show this). The maker provided a balaclava upon request however I wore it a few times without and the foam definitely was unfriendly to my chin.
Ventilation is good. I’ve never worn a resin head before so some may be better/worse. The moving jaw helps ventilate the head even more. I do have some issues sometimes with my glasses fogging up inside the head but usually trying to vent/blow the warm air out through the mouth helps reduce fogging.
Vision is great. The viewports are decently sized for it being a resin head and the material used was a large weave buckram (though the large weave lets people see my own eyes in situational lighting). I still have to turn my head a fair amount to see my sides or downward where I’m stepping, but that seems common to resin blanks since they have limited viewports.
Symmetry is pretty good, anything that was a little off with the fabric was remedied with some airbrushing.
Shaving is even except for a few small choppy spots around the ears where the caramel fur meets the ears, but it isn’t noticeable unless studying it up close.
Fur feels just like standard shag fur, the airbrushing is pretty light and doesn’t feel crunchy. I haven’t had an experience with the airbrushing rubbing off and the fur brushes out well.
Expression of the head I think was something that really drew me to it when I bought the premade. The head overall looks really great. The eyes are follow-me resin/glass ones which are very expressive. There is a small chip in the head’s left eye that isn’t particularly noticeable until you’re close up with the suit.
N/A on concept art since it was a premade.
I think my own hands are a little on the small side of average so the one size fits all hands were a bit large for me. The hands have thick silicone pawpads which along with the fingers being too large for my own remove any dexterity I was expecting to have. The wrists for the hands are larger than the cuff of the armsleeves so if I wear the suit with the arms (which I usually do) I need a handler to stuff the wrists into the sleeves. It’s a little difficult to keep the wrists of the hands tucked in after moving around for awhile since the hands don’t really have much of a wrist cuff themselves.
The seams on the hands seem okay, but since my hands are small I likely won’t experience many issues. The claws are not glued in at all, and while I was waiting to meet someone in suit I had one pop out through the hole but I’ve been careful not to push them too hard. I’ll likely glue them in at some point. The paw pads are glued to the hands, seems like they’re pretty secure.
The insides of the hands are just the fabric backing, no marks or anything on the inside really.
The armsleeves fit well, just the issue with the cuffs not easy for me to tuck the wrists of the hands into.
The hands are just white with black fingers, but I think the white could’ve been shaved down a little towards the black fur so that the pile matches the length of the black fur. Otherwise it looks like there are some wispy white fur clumps that sit over the black.
The armsleeves look very nice though I think the mismatch in the pile length of the black and white also affects it a little.
Brushing the sleeves and paws is pretty simple, no airbrushing on these parts.
The paw pads are silicone (I think) and I think they look great.
The tail is relatively short and slim so it’s very easy to move around with and put on. The auction said that the tail could be attached to the belt with two nylon loops, however I found that it only had one. This wasn’t a huge deal however since it’s a smaller tail so it doesn’t have a lot of weight to swing it around or make it not sit correctly.
So far the tail has worked out to be very secure.
The tail looks great. Since it’s a simple design there’s not much here that could go wrong.
No shaving or airbrushing on it, so it’s easy to brush out.
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
N/A – premade fursuit
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
The armsleeves and the hands have no issue visually matching up since they’re the same color fur where they meet.
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Not for a quote, but when the auction was posted and I asked how feasible/much it would be to add on parts I got a very quick reply which transitioned into the actual transaction and some flexibility since I wanted to purchase additional parts.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
Very satisfied, first answer to my question about adding on parts was two minutes after I asked. We had very prompt communication.
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
No deadlines since I was buying a premade, but when I said that I would like the armsleeves made she got started on them almost right away. They were finished the next day and the whole project was shipped so it was very fast work.
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Pretty satisfied. A few minor things with the suit here and there but it was a premade and they’re nothing that I couldn’t fix myself or just deal with.
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service and professionalism of the maker?
Very satisfied. Courteous and quick communication.
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
The only thing I can comment on really is the maker doing the armsleeves for me, but that went very well. When I requested them I sent a small diagram of an idea for them and she said it was very similar to what she was thinking of so it worked out very well. The armsleeves were finished very quickly and the whole thing was sent out the next day with two day shipping (that didn’t quite work out due to some weather issues but that doesn’t have anything to do with this review).
