It fits me great! He is a little loose, and wobbles around a tiny bit loose, but nothing super drastic or annoying. His ventilation is amazing! He has a lovely mouth shape, not overly open when looking at him but nice and big to breath out of. I have suited in him for 3-4 hours at a time with small headless breaks in between and been fine. The vision is the one thing that could be better, but due to his huge booper and his grumpy expression, he has a rather large blindspot, I have to look out of one eye or another usually, and most usually need a spotter.
Symmetry and shavng is lovely! There is a few bits that are a bit asymmetrical, but you have to get really close to see them. His hair poof is lovey and soft, and very squishy! His ears are the only thing that worry me. I sometimes feel like their loose, and could easily snap off. Also the head is HUGE, and very heavy (I own a second head I got shortly after this suit that doesn’t weigh 1/3 of what this head does) Which makes traveling to meets hard if I don’t have a lift. I also found a pin in the head, near the muzzle a month after owning the head, upon messaging Snow she was extremely apologetic about it, and it didn’t do me any damage, so It doesn’t bother me much.
The body is my favourite part of this suit. Its snug, but no restricting and extremely comfy. He has 8 padding pillows in total for the didgigrade making him very plus and snug to wear. A few seams have popped here and there, but I put that down to con activities and grabby kids, and they were nothing I couldn’t repair myself. The suit isn’t lined, I wear underarmor that suits me fine, its very clean and neat inside, no loose thread or anything. The suit is also very cool, I was worried I would overheat within 30 minutes of wearing him, but I can bounce around for a good hour before I need a proper rest.
Markings are spot on. His X on the back is neat and not lopsided, I told Snow she could have fun with the spots, as long as he was spotty I couldn’t care less, and she delivered! 61 spots in all that were handsewn in, all durable and none have popped. Not symmetrical, but I never asked for it, He would of looked odd being perfectly symmetrical I think. His colours are spot on, I requested the furs myself and they match up amazingly with his reference. The fur is luxuriously soft, and easy to wash/brush, and looks great in pictures.
Hands are lovely, big and bappy with claws like I requested and so are the feet. My only issues is, same with the head, they are VERY HEAVY. I regret not asking for fleece pawpads and claws, as the silicone paw pads weigh my hands down considerably. The feet are also heavy, but I think that’s down to the soles. I’m not sure *exactly* what they are made of but it looks like very tough rubber of some sort. Its held up amazingly with many walks, cons and such, but after a while I find myself lagging a bit due to the weight
Everything is perfect! With a few suprises thrown in (I wasn’t expecting the suit to have such a fine, thick, poofy ruff like he has, and it looks amazing!) I have gotten many compliments from con goers on my suit, and my friends and family think he is stunning! My dad, and best friend are huge fans of his didgigrade.
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
Very satisfied. Some things I requested to be changed during the making (tounge colour) were done perfectly.
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
Everything is consistent, colours are spot on, and looks gorgeous.
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Very satisfied! I sent off my quote and got a very prompt reply, once I confirmed I wanted to go ahead with it, I was contacted the afternoon she closed for quotes I believe.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
Very satisfied! Quick to reply, throughout the whole commission
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
Now I’ll explain this here. Originally, Snow was going to make everything but the head for £950. I ran into problems with the head maker, and she offered to do his head for an additional £300, which I accepted, under the condition of a more relaxed deadline, which I agreed. In the end, he was done in time for the con I wanted to, and I had all of him! So in all, very very satisfied.
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Very! For the price I paid, he is an incredible suit, durable, comfortable and gorgeous to look at.
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service and professionalism of the maker?
Very, very happy with it. Throughout the whole process, Snow was posting on her Twitter and Facebook pages with wips, with some emailed to me only, and was quick to answer any email or concern, even after the suit when I was stuck finding a spray cleaner. Very, very lovely person to work with
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Honestly I can’t think of any pros. Snow was professional, quick to answer and just generally lovely to work with, even with me being neurotic and worrying the whole time. The suit, for its price is a gorgeous suit, and I have no regrets about this commission what so ever, and a few of my friends are now hoping to join the SGS next time she opens after being thrust in her direction by myself. Really just a lovely, polite and all round exceptional maker, and I have plans to return for another suit in future!
