Very satisfied! There’s comfortable lining on the inside, which helps make it a nice and snug fit. Vision is great, the added screen behind the eyes make it much easier to see in brighter lighting. Doesn’t feel too heavy either. There’s also a fan blower hidden in the muzzle, which helps a LOT to keep me cool. There was a bit of an issue with some of the fur coming through the eyes and poking into my own eyes, but I fixed that issue myself with my own knowledge of the craft.
The appearance is exactly how I wanted him to look! Everything looks very symmerical. Uru did a great job with how I wanted the nose to look too. (Most of his art features a more button nose look, but I specifically wanted a rabbit/kangaroo nose for the fursuit) The marking on his face has EL wire inside, which has a faint glow. I think the minky fabric used on the marking might be a bit too thick, the wire isn’t quite as bright as I wanted. This isn’t the fault of the maker of course, they did everything I asked for :) The hairstyle/bangs also turned out great, it has a nice bounce and wave when I walk around! The fur shaving is also perfect.
The EL wire doesn’t glow quite as bright as I wanted, but this is only because of the colored minky stretched over it. (I plan to make a fix on this feature myself) Other than that, the EL wire works perfectly! It has a small battery pack which takes 2 AA sized batteries to operate, and lasts for several hours, especially when set to a blinking pattern rather than solid. The fan blower in the muzzle also works great. It hooks up to a 9v sized battery, lasts about 2-3 hours in constant use. Both battery hookups fit comfortably in a little hole cut into the lining on the neck.
The body fits well in some places, not so well in others. (This has been addressed to the maker) I lost a considerable amount of weight between getting my DTD made and having the finished suit sent to me, so a lot of the belly and leg areas are a bit baggy. This isn’t the fault of the suit maker of course, I should have told them about my new measurements before they started. The suit is still very wearable though. I haven’t had any seams pop during use yet, and everything feels very solid on the inside. There’s padding that needs to be inserted before wear for the legs, and permanent padding in the lower legs. Both of these are made very solid, and there’s an access point in the larger removable padding so I can change how much or little stuffing is in the inserts. The suit is made primarily from bunny styled fur, so it’s a bit more dense than shag and makes it get a bit hotter than some other fursuits. I’ll be getting a cooling pack to wear under the suit in the future to help with this.
Other than the fitting causing some aesthetically annoying wrinkles, the body looks amazing! I was so pleased with everything else about it, I actually didn’t even notice until very recently though that a marking was forgotten. (Lucien has pink shoulder x markings to match his leg x’s) I’ll be making this fix myself since I have the correct fur. The fur choices for the markings are perfect, and I love how everything flows together so well.
The only additions that are out of the ordinary for a suit are the wing docks on the back. We had thought about making custom resin to be more authentic, but since I was going for a more friendly and sort of ‘plush’ feeling for Lucien’s fursuit, we decided on soft material instead. They’re made from what looks like vinyl, so they are still nice and stuff, and hold their shape very well. Perfectly symmetrical too!
The paws are amazing! They fit nice and snug, but not too tight, and the little plush claws are so well done and very cute. The cuff is long enough so that it won’t show skin when I stretch my arms out too. The feet are a bit cumbersome to walk in, but not too much of an issue! I had decided to go with a set of resin hooves to use as the base, which is what’s making them a bit awkward to walk in. I’m already setting money aside to get some smaller and lighter hooves from the maker in the future. (These bigger ones look better proportionally though, so I’ll be keeping them for picture purposes) The feet also can fit around my shoes, which makes them GREAT to walk around in!
The paws look so adorable! The character doesn’t have pawpads, so sometimes I get a little confused when putting them on because it can be a bit hard to tell. The hooves look great as well. Though the resin base makes them tough to walk in, I absolutely love how they look. The lining in the hooves is a cute polka-dot pattern fabric!
Pretty straightforward dragon-like tail! It’s not heavy at all, and has 2 belt loops. It’s been stepped on dozens of times now and I haven’t had any issue with seams popping or belt loops tearing. It’s very solid.
Looks wonderful! I love the gentle curve in the shape, and how they did the poof at the end. The poof is made from monkey shag fur, so it’s long and swishy!
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
Other than the missing shoulder markings, I’m very happy with the results! Everything else matches perfectly.
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
Everything is very consistent, and I’m looking forward to when I can get the seams tucked in to fit my weight loss!
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Very satisfied. The form they use on the website is easy to understand, and the process was very simple.
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
Very! I think I got the quote response within the same night.
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
The original Midwest Furfest due date was missed, but it wasn’t a big issue to me. I got the suit a few days before I left for Further Confusion though, so I had time to try it all on beforehand.
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Very satisfied. Everything was handled very professionally and in a friendly manner. The suit overall is very well put together, there was obviously a lot of good effort and love put into it!
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service and professionalism of the maker?
Very satisfied, I’ve commissioned Fursonalities before and I can tell they’ve grown a lot as a full time suit maker and business.
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
The only big con I can think of was the missed deadline, but I understand they had recently been through a bit of a tough time, so it doesn’t affect my opinion of their business practice. The little imperfections here and there weren’t anywhere near enough to make me feel like I had been ripped off or anything of the sort. Uru is a really great person to work with on a commission, and I made sure to give them a nice tip on top of the payment as a result. I also wanted to point out that while we’re friends, I don’t feel like I was taken advantage of, or charged a different price. Everything throughout the whole process felt very genuine and professional!
