Do you currently still own the item(s) you’re reviewing?

Did the maker meet your deadline?
The initial deadline were missed, and it was like pulling teeth to get the suit after that.

Did you tell the maker about any issues you had?
Yes, I did. Some were fixed, others were not.

How many hours have you worn/used the item(s) you’re reviewing?
Give your best estimate.
couple of hours at most.

The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the head of the costume. If you are reviewing only a set of ears, your answers would also go in this section.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear this piece of your costume.

Upon arrival it was not wearable. The elastic to hold the head had not been measured. It was very loose and it fell around the neck.
It is not lined, as it is made on a resin mask.
Ventilation was only through the mouth, which was a difficulty within itself, since the mask didn’t fit right. It was either be able to see, or be able to breath.
Vision was awful upon arrival. Painted material and the eye holes were incredibly small. This was “fixed” later on, but it wasn’t that much better.

**A side note here**
DVC has given me permission to add them to this review.
When we went to a convention with the head, they replaced the bad eye holes beautifully, drilled holes in the nose and installed a fan for much MUCH better ventilation. I was extremely satisfied with what they did to fix the head.

Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume piece looks from the outside.

The right ear is shaved more than the left. This was brought up to the maker and there was an attempted fix, but it’s still uneven. However, unless you look closely, you prolly wouldn’t notice. Besides that symmetry is fine. The scar is made out of epoxy. It doesn’t look that great.

Shaving is okay.

Fur feels fine.

I originally paid for a snarling/angry expression and they forgot to make it that way. It was either wait even longer for the head so they could fix it or get a tail as compensation. I had already been waiting awhile, so I took the tail offer. The eyes at least have an angry look.

Yes it matches the concept art.

The following questions ask you to explain how satisfied you are with each feature of the tail(s) of the costume.

Wear Satisfaction
Please describe how it is to wear these pieces of your costume.

Tail fits fine.

Quality is fine, but those belt loops sure are not. They are INCREDIBLY small, as i can barely fit 2 fingers into the loops. He has to use a thin ladies belt to even attempt to wear it.

Appearance Satisfaction
Please describe how satisfied you are with how your costume pieces look from the outside.

It’s a plain black tail. Fur feels fine.

The following questions ask how satisfied you are with the overall visual aspects associated with the costume.

How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
It matches the concept art.

How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
Markings are where they are supposed to be.

The following questions ask how satisfied you are with all the aspects of communication between you and the maker.

How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Initial contact was a breeze, but it went downhill from there.

How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
Not satisfied at all. Between multiple changes of email and how to contact, it was difficult to get any kind of reply at all.

How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
Deadlines were missed. The head was supposed to be completed by June 28th 2016. They stated they would start in April 2016. I did not get any updates, though I asked several times.

They were posting premades and other things during this time as well. I got my first actual picture of the head on August 23rd. They claimed they had sent pics before but nothing had ever showed up. It was at this time we talked about the expression being wrong and also that the head did not have the grey muzzle. They claimed lighting was an issue, but I’m not sure I really believe that.

From there it was another batch of unanswered emails to get an update until October 29th. When I finally stopped asking nicely, it was then I got an update. They claimed they were sending pictures, but I was never getting anything, and offered to send them over DM on Twitter, which I received pretty quickly.
I sent them shipping money for the Head and Tail on the same day. They said the package would be out first thing Monday. From there I got no updates or tracking info until December 1st 2016.

It all goes further downhill from there, as I feel I was lied to about shipping. For the entire month of Dec and part of Jan. the shipping does not update, stating that it’s still waiting for the item to be brought in for shipping. They claimed it could possibly be lost and that just leaves me feeling worse.

And then suddenly, on Jan 9th they post an update on Twitter about getting things sent out soon, and lo and behold Jan 12th the tracking finally updates and was here 2 days later.

I was angry, but I didn’t want to start throwing accusations about with the head and my money on the line. I just wanted the damn thing to finally arrive.

How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Unsatisfied. When the head finally arrived, it was in a tiny box with no cushion or padding.

(I put it in the box for this picture.)

It was unwearable upon arrival, with tiny chips off the inside of the mask, the elastic unmeasured and appearing cut/ripped in one spot, and the mesh in the eye covered in glue and also ripped.

The tail was not sent as well. When I brought this up, they claimed they never said they’d send the tail with the head and…I’m not entirely sure why?
They said all the things wrong with it were easy fixes and then offered to send me the supplies to fix it myself. I initially was going to agree with this, as i was tired of dealing with nonsense, but after sleeping on it, I got angry. Why should I have to fix something I paid $700 for to arrive unwearable?

This was discussed and I was going to send the head back for repairs. I sent the package out on Jan 16th and they received it the 22nd.
Edits were supposedly done by the 24th, but they didn’t send it back out to me until the 30th.

They sent it back in the same box it first came in with the tail squished in underneath it.

This was the final contact I had with the maker. They never replied.

How satisfied are you with the overall customer service and professionalism of the maker?
Unsatisfied. I feel I was drug around in a circle and given a ton of excuses and also lied to.
I felt I had to be less than nice to get any kind of reply at times.

Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Initially nice to talk to

Hard to get a hold of.
Lots of excuses.
Missed deadlines.

Album of screenshots and dealings.

It’s been almost a yr since I received the head/tail from the maker. Maybe things have changed, maybe not. All I know is that it was a terrible experience and I will definitely research any future fursuit makers thoroughly before trying to do business with them.
