Did the maker meet your deadline?
I had no deadline
Did you tell the maker about any issues you had?
The only issues I’ve come across is recently I realized his ears a teensy bit wobbly, and I’ve already arranged to send him back to Seadog in December to get his ears reinforced a little bit.
How many hours have you worn/used the item(s) you’re reviewing?
Give your best estimate.
I’ve worn him to three conventions, four-five meets, and around my house an array of times!
Do you have any prior experience with fursuits?
Nope, he is my first fursuit.
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with each feature of the head of the fursuit.
How satisfied are you with the fit of the head?
Is it too tight or loose? Does anything poke you, stab you, make it uncomfortable to wear? Is it lined comfortably?
I absolutely love Megabytes head! It’s comfortable and breathable. It’s roomy, but not too loose and even my friends who have tried him on have agreed that he’s very comfortable. His head also has a hidden zipper in the back that is virtually unnoticeable. The only thing is that his head is not lined, but that’s not an issue for me, and I was well aware of the fact that he would not be lined when commissioning Seadog.
How is the ventilation?
Can you breathe well? Is the mask stuffy? Does the air circulate through your head?
I breathe well! Ventilation and circulation are good. He’s definitely comfortable wear.
How is the vision?
Can you see well in front of you? Is there a large blind spot? Do you have to turn your head to see? (Note: most suits do not have peripheral vision)
I am satisfied with my vision. I do have a center blind spot, but it’s nothing too terrible. I also can see a lit bit off to the sides of me, which I greatly appreciate!
How is the symmetry?
Are the eyes or ears lopsided? Are the markings symmetrical per character design?
Symmetry is absolutely perfect! I’m in love with how professionally done he is made, and I can definitely tell that she put a lot of work and time into my suit.
Is the shaving even?
Can you see the backing? Is it choppy? Is the transition to long fur what you were looking for?
Shaving is even, and smooth. The transition is also amazing. No complaints!
How satisfied are you with the expression and overall appearance of the head?
I absolutely love his expression. I asked for a grumpy suit, and I love the expression given. It’s not too intimidating, but still has the kind of cool “grump” look.
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with each feature of the body of the fursuit.
How satisfied are you with the fit of the hands and feet?
Will your wrists/ankles show if you stretch too much? Do they stay on your hands or do they slide off? Can you put them on comfortably with ease?
They fit extremely comfortable! I can take them on and off with ease, and never worry about them slipping or sliding off.
How is the quality of the hands and feet? Are you satisfied with the materials used?
Have seams popped? Have paw pads or claws fallen off?
Megabyte’s hand paws are probably one of my favorite parts of the entire suit, and what I get compliments on the most. They’re extremely cute, big, and a perfect mixture of toony and feral! I’ve never seen paws quite like his before and I love them. I have had two claws fall off, but Seadog did warn me of this when I first got the suit as she was trying something new and even told me that she would make any repairs at anytime, but it’s an easy fix and nothing e6000 glue couldn’t handle.
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with each feature of the tail of the fursuit.
How is the quality of the tail? Are you satisfied with the materials used?
Is it too cumbersome? Can you pull on it without tearing? Are the straps secure and even?
If there is any padding or armature, does it look right and function correctly?
The straps are secure and even, and are made out of a soft black material that matches Megabytes tail perfectly. I can tug on it without any issues, and it’s nice and lightweight and has a bit of bounce to it! Super soft and comfortable to wear. I absolutely love his tail because it give him the perfect “hyena” look! It’s smooth on top, and has longer fur on bottom.
How accurate to the concept art is your tail?
Did they get all the markings? Are the colors accurate?
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with each feature of the ears, especially if they are seperate from the fursuit head.
How is the quality of the ears? Are you satisfied with the materials used?
Are they too cumbersome? Can you pull on them without tearing? Are they even on your head?
I love the ears, they’re light and even. They even have a little curve at the top that matches the initial concept design. They have since gotten a little wobbly, but it’s nothing too serious. As mentioned before, I have spoken to Seadog about this issue and she has happily agreed to make the necessary agreed. She did mention that she was trying something new (as she is a new maker), and has learned a lot more about ear reinforcment since I’ve commission her.
How easy is it to wear your ears?
Do they fall off? Are they painful to clip on? Do you require someone else to put them on for you?
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with each feature of the arm and/or leg warmers, and arm and/or leg sleeves, especially if they are seperate from the fursuit.
How is the quality of the sleeves/warmers? Are you satisfied with the materials used?
Are they too cumbersome? Can you pull on them without tearing?
At the time I originally commissioned her I did not have armsleeves, only paws that came up to about elbow length. I did eventually go back and commission her for armsleeves, and they’re wonderful! (Price paid: $65). She matched the furs I originally had, and they’re exptremely comfortable.
How accurate to the concept art are your sleeves/warmers?
Did they get all the markings? Are the colors accurate?
Everything was accurate!
How easy are your sleeves/warmers to wear?
Do they fall off?
They do not fall off, and fit me perfect.
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with visual aspects associated with the fursuit.
How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matches the concept art?
If there was no concept art, please state N/A
Absolutely in love! Suit matches the concept art 100%
How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?
Colors are consistent, seams are beautiful, and I’m more than satisified.
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with all the aspects of communication between you and the maker.
How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
One of the reasons that I’m absolutely enamored with Seadog is her amazing communication. She was always kind, send numerous progress pictures and updates, and answered ALL of my questions (which there were a lot of as it was my first fursuit and I was nervous) Communication was phenomenal between us! Originally I had contacted her on Tumblr asking about an artistic freedom commission, price range, and if she would be able to work with what I wanted which was: A grumpy expression, unique species (no rodents or avians), natural colors with a splash of unnatural (preferably blue or purple), a design consisting of at least three colors, and claws. They replied to that initial message the same day, and then I contacted their FA, sent my down payment, all within the next two days if I’m remembering correctly. Very quick reply time!
How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
How long did it take them to respond?
Responses to any questions were always quick, and thorough. She walked me through step by step on a lot of things because I had mentioned it was my first fursuit, and I was always updated. The only delay was when her significant other was undergoing surgery, but she had explained the situation to me as soon as it happened. I appreciated the update, and completely understood as it was something out of their control!
How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker?
Were they pleasant to work with?
They were always very professional and friendly. They happily answered any and all questions I had, and always seemed more than happy to reply! Since it was an artistic freedom I had requested several different designs, and she was set on continuing until I had found one that I absolutely loved. I even took a few days looking at each design before choosing, and even when I did choose the striped hyena design, she was more than happy to make the changes to it that I requested (I wanted a black tail, and black tipped mane changed on the design) and quickly sent me a revised concept art sheet. I’m happily going to continue commissioning Seadog because her level of professionalism, and because she was an absolute dream to work with.
The following questions ask how satisfied you are with your overall experience with the maker and the fursuit itself.
How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?
I had no deadline, but I was very happy at how quickly I got my fursuit!
How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
don’t think words can properly describe how much I love my suit, just know that I absolutely 1000000% love Megabyte, and Seadog Suits for giving me such a cute suit! I’m definitely going to be commissioing her again, so that says a lot about how much I loved every aspect of my experience.
How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker?
I’m more than happy with the customer service I’ve received, and am still continuing to receive. Even months after I commissioned Megabyte I went back and asked what furs were used, and she gave me the entire list including sites she bought them from, and was more than happy to make me arm sleeves. Absolutely adored working with her, and will be commissioning her for another suit once she reopens!
Describe your experience. What were the pros and cons of working with this maker? And any final comments?
Honestly, the entire experience was an amazing one for me. Seadog was always very sweet, communicated effectively, professional, and answered all of my varying questions. I loved working with Seadog Suits so much, that I gladly recommended the maker to all of my friends, and have hopes of eventually commissioning her again. I’ve actually since then had two of my friends commission her for fursuits, and we’ve all been very pleased with the results. I have no cons! I’ve had Megabyte for almost a year now and I’m still just as happy with him as I was the first month I’ve had him.
