HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.

How satisfied are you with the fit of the head?
Is it too tight or loose? Does anything poke you, stab you, make it uncomfortable to wear? Is it Lined comfortably?

Fits excellent! Has a nice and snug feel to it that makes it comfortable on its own. There’s also enough room as well for when I add my own balaclava.

How satisfied are you with the vision?
Can you see well in front of you? Is there a large blind spot? Do you have to turn your head to see? (Note that most suits do not have peripheral vision)

Vision is fantastic! I have a fairly wide range through the eyes, and was more than I had expected.

How satisfied are you with the ventilation?
Can you breathe well? Is the mask stuffy? Does the air circulate through your head?
Plenty of breathing room! The mouth on the head is always partially open, so that I can always breathe easier and increase air flow.

How satisfied are you with the symmetry of the head?
Are the eyes or ears lopsided? Are the markings symmetrical per character design?
It’s definitely symmetric. I haven’t noticed any differences on either side, so I’m certain it’s even.

Is the Shaving even?
Can you see the backing? Is it choppy? Is the transition to long fur what you were looking for?

Pretty great!

How satisfied are you with the expression and overall appearance of the head?

I love it 😀 I had an overall expectation as to what it might look like, but I was pleasantly surprised at the more “serious” look at well!

How satisfied are you with the quality of your ears?
Are they too cumbersome? Can you pull on them without tearing? Are they even on your head?

Ears are pretty good. Not much to say here.

BodyGives information about the main body of the costume. If reviewing a separate set of pants/legs or torso, the answers would also go in this section.

How satisfied are you with how the body fits?
Is it comfortable to wear? Does it allow for good movement?

Very comfortable! From the first time suiting up, it’s always been easy to slip into the body, and gives me a good range of movements from crouching/bending/etc.

How satisfied are you with the quality and durability of the body?
Are the seams durable? Can you move without popping seams?

It’s holding up well! Haven’t had any issues with anything popping out.

How satisfied are you with the selection of colors and material?

I absolutely LOVE the shade of blue used. Captures my fursona perfectly.

Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.

How satisfied are you with the fit of the hands and feet?
Will your wrists/ankles show is you stretch too much? Do they stay on your hands or do they slide off? Can you put them on comfortably with ease?
No complaints for either. The handpaws have a cute look to them and feel comfortable when wearing. I’ve made the mistake of wearing down one of the two sets I was given by being a bit rough with it, but still holding up fairly well.

The feet are comfortable as well. easy to wear and stays on.

How satisfied are you with the quality of the hands and feet?
Has anything come undone or fallen apart? Have any pawpads or claws fallen off?

Everything’s holding up well despite some of my activity. Since I was being a bit rough, one of the insides of the handpaws is a little worn, but the difference is negligible.

TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.

How satisfied are you with the quality of your tail?
Is it too cumbersome? Can you pull on it without tearing? Are the straps secure and even?

Awesome tail! Long and full of fluff!

How accurate to your concept art is your tail?
Did they get all the markings? Are the colors accurate?

Perfect depiction. All black. I was told by the concept artist that DHC carried few colors that had the amount of fluff for the tail, so I was recommended for it. Turned out well.

OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.

How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matched the concept art?
If there was none, please state N/A

It’s spot on! I thought it was a fairly simplistic design to handle, so I’m very satisfied.

How satisfied are you with the consistency of your suit to the makers style?

I’m glad! I knew the style DHC did when I commissioned them, and pretty much received what I had wanted.

How satisfied are you with the overall quality?
Are all the seams durable? Has anything fallen apart? Are there any holes?

It’s pretty durable! Haven’t noticed any seam issues, nothing has fallen apart.

How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
Do you markings match up at the seams? Are the colors consistent?

Clear consistency throughout.

How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
Did they take an unreasonably long time to respond?

Incredibly easy. I sent out a somewhat awkward email on my part (probably because I was nervous and had never done this sort of thing before) with the concept art and any other requests(follow me eyes), and received the quote within a few hours.

How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?

Incredibly satisfied. Response times were incredibly fast, ranging from a day at most to only minutes at some points.

How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker?
Were they pleasant to work with?

They were professional and pleasant to work with. They answered any of my minor concerns or questions with ease.

How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
Were any deadlines missed or was it done early?

I’m glad! It was set for June, and work updated were given at times through the month on the status. They managed to finish right at the end of the month, and ship it to Pittsburgh for me to pick up at the con.

How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?

I’m really, really glad. I love this suit so much 😀

How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker?

Quite satisfied! They were fast with any concerns or questions, and were glad to work on my suit.

Final Comments

I just wanna say to the team at DHC, Thank you so very much for both the opportunity and the time to make my fursuit. They were great to work with, and I couldn’t be happier. My only regret is that I didn’t commission a digitgrade body, because they look so cool! But at the time I was unsure, and just went with the standard to be safe. Regardless, I’m still so glad it’s held up well and feels great. Commissioning Don’t Hug Cacti was a great decision!
