[YES] Arizona Shiba Inu Partial by ARocco Suits
General InformationGives some information about the item and the person writing the review.
I did not notify the maker about issues with fur color, because I did not notice them until the suit arrived.
HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
The head fits well. It does not slide/shift and is not constricting. It can be slightly difficult to put on because of a small “lip” of foam beneath the jaw area, but this also helps keep the head securely in place. Thus, I have no problem with it.
Ventilation is VERY good. There is a very large opening in the mouth, that prevents the head from becoming too hot or constrictive.
Vision is good. Blind spots are small. Some holes in eye mesh are clogged by paint, primarily in the highlights of the eyes. The obstructions are not a major inconvenience.
The head is lined properly, with some foam showing near the jaw. This is not an issue, and it is still neat and comfortable.
The symmetry is very good. Both the markings and shape of the face are very symmetrical. There are no noticeable discrepancies.
The seams on the face are very smooth. No seams are visible between fleece parts, or between fleece and fur. The fleece portion of the face is very neat and clean. However, there are some neatness issues on the ears. On the tips of the ears, some hot glue was found stuck in the fur, and some short fur is glued down onto the ear. Some fur is also trapped in the glue where the neck meets the head. Additionally, the shaving on the back of the ears was very choppy and uneven. The length of the fur is inconsistent at the tip of the ear as well. A small hole can also be found in the fleece near the base of the jaw.
Overall, I am satisfied with the head’s appearance. Different expressions can be achieved from different angles. The head features follow-me eyes.
The markings and patterns on the suit match the concept art very well. The shape of both the head and tail are consistent with the character’s species. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the fur color choices. Portions of fur intended to be dark brown are almost indistinguishable from the lighter fur. On the concept art, this dark fur was much closer to black. In photos and from a distance, the two furs appear to be the same color.
Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.
Overall, I am mostly satisfied with the fit of the hands and arm sleeves. The arm sleeves are fairly lose, and sometimes slide off my arms when the elastic is in place. The handpaws do not always meet the arm sleeves, and can create a small gap. However, this is easily fixed by disregarding the elastic strap. The handpaws themselves are very comfortable. They fit me well, and do not slide or fall off during wear.
The hands and arm sleeves are all symmetrical. The transitions between the sleeves and paws are smooth when aligned properly.
There is no shaving on these parts.
As previously mentioned, the portions of darker fur are too similar to other furs on the suit, and do not match the concept art. The seams between different furs/fabrics are very clean. The paw pads are made of pink kinky (cuddle) fur. The color very closely matches the paws pictured on the reference sheet. They are visually appealing and soft. I am very satisfied with the shape of the paws. Very cute and toony.
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
The tail fits decently well. It is not heavy or cumbersome. I find it difficult at times to keep the tail fixed to the belt properly. The belt loop is a very wide band of elastic. Because it stretches across the entire base of the tail, it often comes away from my body and slides along the belt. This can be corrected by affixing the band to the belt with small clips. Despite this, the elastic is attached well to the base of the tail.
The tail is constructed well. The tail is a very challenging curly shape, but the maker patterned and formed it well. It is very visually appealing and matches the character’s species well.
There is no shaving on the tail. Some fur is trapped in the glue where the elastic loop meets the fabric, but it is not visible when the tail is being worn.
The tail is intentionally asymmetrical. This matches the reference material.
As aforementioned, the dark brown featured on the tail is not as dark as I would have liked it to be.
OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.
All seams are neat on both hands and sleeves.
There were some issues with fur color, exposed glue and uneven shaving. I still enjoy the costume’s appearance.
Overall, I was satisfied with my experience with this maker.
Their customer service is nothing short of spectacular. They are always very kind and professional in their communication. They are very happy to help the customer make desired changes. I was very impressed by their customer interactions.
It is visually appealing. Very cute and toony. All work with fleece is exceptionally clean and even. This is consistent throughout their body of work.
My only major grievances are that the darker brown fur featured in the suit did not match the concept art particularly well. Additionally, there were some issues with shaving and fur trapped in glue.
Prices are very reasonable, customer service is simply stellar, and quality is generally good. I highly recommend this maker to anyone in the market for a partial or fursuit parts!
