We had a deadline of July 16th, so it would ship in time for July 21st and 22nd, aka Comic Con. They failed to meet this deadline, complained about the deadline after finishing and didn’t ship it out until the 19th, which was then put as 2 day shipping and cost a ridiculous amount of money because they refused to ship it before then.
I only got to wear it the 22nd, which was not what I wanted. They previously said before the commission started that the 16th was doable.
HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
The head does fit me at all in motion. If I was to sit and not move my head at all, it would sit fine. However, I gave my measurements to the maker and they did not listen. They made it impossible to wear out without literally tying it to my head. (Hence the scarf)
Since the ventilation is through the mouth, I can breathe great! Turning toward the wind is great and you get a lot of nice breeze. Plus points there.
Vision is great! Since it’s out of the mouth and under it also. I just wish it covered me a bit better than it does.. When wearing, you can see my entire face and neck.
The maker and I both agreed on a Mane to cover my neck, however they didn’t add it. I can only guess it’s because they didn’t want to have to buy more michaels craft fur and sew it together. Not very happy in their choice of fur.
Everything is hot glued also. Barely any is seen. The only thing seen on the head is the tip of the horns actually.
It most matches the concept art.
I annoy achieve any expressions other than happy. The appearance is pretty shotty and messy in all honesty.
The white fur is the softest, I’m assuming luxury shag. The black feels like michaels craft fur and it a bit crunchy. I cannot brush the ears for fear of ripping the black spots right off. They aren’t sewn, simply glued on the white fur, meaning if I pull some white up, the black isn’t connected to the base at all.
There is no shaving necessary.
The ear markings are very lopsided and one ear folds in and has since It arrived. The horns are slightly crooked but that’s fine. The mouth is pretty lopsided, especially in the front.
Not fully satisfied with this. Again, you can see my entire face and neck and it ruins the magic for anyone around. No mane added however agreed to before finished.
I have 2 large horns on the top of the head and they work nice! Very bouncy, not that heavy and don’t break off easily.
They are connected to the head and I can put the head on myself.
I like how they look, however maybe would of rathered it not have fabric just wrapped around it.
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
The black is lopsided and the tail is a bit crooked then wearing. The straps are made of jean material and they are terribly lopsided.
No shaving necessary. The transition from short black to long is pretty noticeable.
Black is crunchy, white is soft. I used to be able to brush it, however within 8+ hours of wear and storage in a safe box away from pets and harm, 2 seams have popped. I do not know how to sew, but I have to repair it myself or hand it over to a friend. Only been pulled a few times by kids, the seams should not have ripped.
I dislike the craft fur used. The tail is very bouncy however and that’s great. It doesn’t match my concept art and is shorter than we agreed on. I had been informed that if I wanted black spots, it would be hard to brush. Not sewn if I had chosen that.
The attachment is a weird jean material for straps and a belt. The tail is lopsided when worn and pretty short. Not heavy at all and I do enjoy the bounce, but I wish it had better quality.
Able to be tugged a bit, however seams popped already and I’ve barely worn it for more than 9 hours.
OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.
Satisfied since we agreed on the tail.
Not very satisfied for $157, as I have seen better completed ones of the same species go for less with better quality.
Very easy and simple! They quoted me at $157, never mentioned shipping.
At the beginning of July, they informed me I had paid everything off so I stopped actively working for money for the partial. A day before they shipped it, they spring a $25 charge and a $90 shipping because they skipped the deadline.
Deadline of July 16th missed. Wasn’t able to wear it for the first day of Comic Con.
Rating
My experience isn’t that great. The unknown fees, the little amount of time they claimed I had to pay, the quality and the overall look is pretty disappointing.
I now have to pay out of pocket to find a way to cover my face from view and cover my neck when suiting when that should of never been the cause.
I’d advise a warning when conversing with this maker. They have potential, but do not inform their customers of hidden fees and quality beforehand. Make sure you keep stating what you want and do not accept anything you dislike. They should start sewing markings into the fur instead of hot glueing and should be more careful on the glue. It is all over the suit that I have to clean off now. I cannot wear it without tying the head to my chin, which is pretty upsetting.
