Here is my 3 part fursuit review of the fursuit for you all to see; please note, this review was made fairly shortly after I received the suit and since then the body suit has become more and more unwearable as well as the handpaws (I got a friend to remake them for me!)
HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
Head is extremely lightweight and comfy! It has a strap in the back to secure it tightly to your head. It can be a little hard to reach though (especially when getting out of the fursuit) . The inside is lined with very nice fabric, and the ventilation is great especially with the moving jaw! Vision is also great! The only pet peeve of the head is that the inside of the head wasn’t properly shaved and cleaned before sending it out- which makes it very itchy since there is a lot of loose fur strands in there. It makes wearing it for long periods of time very difficult.
Adore the appearance immensely, no shaving issues with the outside of the head.
Moving jaw was originally not requested, but it was added in without my permission. I don’t know how I feel about the moving jaw as it can be hard to use at time but I believe it’s just because I’m used to static jaws. He did forget to add Atlas’s plugs in his ears though which had to be rushed made the day before he sent it out (I’m not upset with the quality of the plugs though!). I am unsure of the heads durability as of yet, but the lightweight of it definitely is a plus
BodyGives information about the main body of the costume. If reviewing a separate set of pants/legs or torso, the answers would also go in this section.
The crotch of the body goes down to my knees and is extremely uncomfortable. I have to pull it up to actually match my crotch which then makes it wrinkle in the chest and also short around the ankles. I squatted once when I first got the suit and heard a pop. There were some loose strands in the body. Note; I did provide both a DTD and measurements of my body to ensure accuracy. I am a pretty ‘box-like’ body shape so I’m a little.. confused to why the body did not fit me properly. The legs and arms also do not properly reach my ankles/wrists- I have very limited movement in it. I originally informed him I wanted the suit to dance in but I can hardly walk in it (even after many stretching exercises)
There was also a HUGE hole in the back for the tail, which was unnecessarily big, I have sewn it up though to be a more appropriate size.
Awful, originally he sent me wips of the body and nothing was shaved down. I then requested it to be shaven down on the arms and legs (since it was super fuzzy) and the job he did was… horrible. Super choppy shaving- he shaved on the light brown areas which was tipped fur so you can clearly see it was shaven incorrectly. Even the longer fur that I had requested to be shaven was shaven shorter then the short pile fur and it just is a choppy mess. I take mild ownership in this as I provided all of the fur and sent it to him (mind you, costed be around 300$~ which he reimbursed me for) and I’m unsure if he’s ever worked with fur of this this type before or if it was just extremely rushed. If he felt uncomfortable shaving it he should’ve told me that instead of absolutely butchering the suit.
All of the fur is symmetrical and high quality- but the god awful shaving job ruined it for me. I eventually will have to spend another 800$+ on a bodysuit since this one is awful. I’m embarrassed to wear it out- and always have to wear a t-shirt overtop to cover up the wrinkles.
Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.
Hands are lined and are semi comfy- the fingers are foam and are pretty hard. I ended up commissioning a friend of mine to make me a new set of handpaws since these ones felt like I was wearing bricks.
The feet paws however are EXTREMELY comfy! I love them a lot and they are built on a foam base. The inside is lined making it very easy to slip on and off while keeping them light weight.
Hand paws look low quality- the spots on the handpaws are painted on and are starting to smear over time. Even after throwing them into the wash- they still remain messy and smeared. I wish he would’ve taken the time to handsew them (I even offered to pay him extra for the time) but he did the easy route by painting them on. The paw pads also weren’t stuffed to give them an actual paw like look, they’re just foam on fur.
Love the feetpaws, super cute and small, goes very well with the rest of the suit!
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
I had originally asked for a tail that is smaller then a tail I currently own- and I received a large brick. It is foam core, weighs probably 2x as much as the head and when worn is bulky and could probably knock out a child if I turned too quickly. I wore it once, and since then plan on scrapping it to be made into a new tail.
You can tell he put little to no effort into the sewing process as the tail is just bands of different colour. Shaving on the tail is also awful, extremely choppy and super noticeable.
OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.
Overall it was a mess, but when he actually finished my suit it arrived extremely quickly and furry machine covered the cost of shipping which I was happy with. I received Tracking and the item arrived through Canada Post without any customs cost attached to it (which tbh is unheard of with fursuits!)
Rating
Furry Machine is an extremely nice person, and he is EXTREMELY talented. I have spoken with him after I have received my commission about all of these issues, and I know he will grow from this and learn from his mistakes. I would recommend him to people who have a specific style in mind, and aren’t afraid of fursuit makers (since telling someone who has thousands of dollars of your money, and is making your fursuit that your not happy with your service can be EXTREMELY anxiety inducing). Just remember you are the customer, and they are providing you with a service so you are allowed to critique their work or tell them what you want/don’t want. If you’re unhappy with something PLEASE speak up! I wish he had offered to fix my suit after I had told him about all of the problems I had- but he simply responded with “I apologize, I’ll do better next time” but that doesn’t do anything for me, the money I’ now have to spend again to get his mistakes fixed etc-. I expected more out of this experience, and it will definitely discourage me from commissioning fursuits again in the future ://
