Wear Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to wear with regard to comfort, fit, material quality, etc.

6/10- Overall the suit is not too bad to wear but there are a few things that can make it uncomfortable or tedious to wear for too long.

This head features LED eyes which has the battery pack in the snout. From time to time the wire will rub against my nose (this is the corner of the wire where it meets the battery pack itself so it’s sharp) and it hurts and can even leave marks.

Second, this head features silicone piercings which make the head extremely heavy (several pounds), ad this often causes neck strain if worn for more than an hour at a time.

Third, The blind spot is the worst I’ve ever had in any of the heads I’ve owned or worn and it’s directly in front of me.I can’t see directly in front of me unless I turn my head to the side. It’s so bad to the point where I can not see a person standing directly in front of me if they’re more than a 3-4 feet away.

Fourth, there were magnets placed in the mouth which were supposed to allow the suit to have an open or closed mouth depending on what I wanted at the time. The magnets were so strong I could never have the mouth open unless I put a prop in the mouth. I eventually had to cut the magnets out because it was too hot and hard to breathe.

Appearance Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to look at with regard to material quality, design, how closely it matches the concept, etc.

8.5/10- This fursuit has all the markings near perfect and the craftsman ship is great on the head. Very nice shaving and symmetry.

Only things wrong are that one if the markings is not showing as much as I’d like (partially hidden by the Mohawk) and she does not smile at all and is constantly frowning/ looks disapproving when I wanted a sly smile.

Special Attachments and Features Information about any special or unique features this piece has with regard to the reviewer's satisfaction of them.

10/10- LED eyes worked perfectly and never had any issues with them.

Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.

Wear Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to wear with regard to comfort, fit, material quality, etc.

7/10- The hand paws fit very well and are comfy to wear until I start to sweat. The lining of the paws makes it very difficult to take off and re put back on if I need to take them off for anything.

Feet I have still yet to receive after 3 years.

Appearance Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to look at with regard to material quality, design, how closely it matches the concept, etc.

9/10- The hand paws look gear! I just wish they went slightly further up my arms

Feet paws have still not been received.

TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.

Wear Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to wear with regard to comfort, fit, material quality, etc.

8.5/10- The tail sits well on my body but it’s a very still/ packed tightly with polyfil. There’s not a lot of give to the tail. It can also be kind of heavy due to the polyfil.

Appearance Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to look at with regard to material quality, design, how closely it matches the concept, etc.

8.5/10- The tail includes wire so the tail can be bent but with the amount of polyfil used on the tail it can’t bend very much or be posed without looking broken.

Airbrushing was featured on the tip of the tail and it looked dirty and wasn’t as dark as shown in original photos in real life.

Special Attachments and Features Information about any special or unique features this piece has with regard to the reviewer's satisfaction of them.

8.5/10- The wire in the tail couldn’t be used well due to the amount of polyfil and didn’t stay in more than two or three poses.

OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.

Product Satisfaction How satisfied the reviewer is with the overall look and feel of the costume in its entirety.

How well does everything fit together and match up?

8/10 Overall together the partial looks like it goes to together and they look pretty nice.

Overall Project Quality

2/10- The suit itself is decent, the quality of the suit is nice and a lot of people seem to like it but with lack of responses, missed deadlines, still waiting on feet, and just the amount of stress I’ve had to deal with because of the maker themself, it took a 8.5/10 suit to 2/10.

The whole experience has made me dislike and nearly hate a suit I should love.

Purchase Process Details the interactions between the customer/reviewer and the maker of the item with regard to the buying process.

Initial Contact

I contacted them originally through FurAffinity and also talked on Facebook. It was easy to know what they needed from me and what costs would be.

Maker Response Time

1/10- At first the maker was extremely responsive but as the months and years went on I would go months without any type of contact. 95% of the time I had to contact them for updates and WIPs.

They would not give clear answers when I asked how things were coming or to see photos when they said they started/were working on a part of the suit.

Maker Professionalism

0/10- The maker would not respond to messages clearly and for long periods of time. Did not receive WIPs when I asked for them. Maker would do raffles, premades, and take more commissions while I had not heard progress on my in months or years.

Maker did offer a refund for a bodysuit I was waiting on fur several years and responded calmly whenever I got a response. But other than that, I can’t say anything positive about communication.

Project Completion Time

0/10- Many ETAs/deadlines were missed (at least 4-5).

Waited 2 1/2-3 years for a bodysuit before asking to be refunded for it and the feet are still being completed despite having the rest of the partial for year and a half.

"Would you recommend this maker to another?"

NO!
This review has been marked with a negative rating.
This means the reviewer would NOT recommend Fish R Furiends Studios unless they significantly change their practices.

Final Comments

This maker does excellent work when they actually finish the work they owe. But the way they handled my commission and treated me as a client is inexcusable. I can not tell people enough to find another maker other than them. I would not recommend them to anyone .

I 100% appreciate you being honest about the rating based on the interactions and deadlines being missed!

I had the exact same experience with a different maker, lovely and well-made suit, but all of the missed ETA’s and just generally communication made the experience MISERABLE.
I got a few confused people in my DMs with “but you like the suit??”

How the maker ACTS and treats your money, time, and trust is just as important as the quality of the suit.
Thank you so much for being open about what happened with this suit.
