HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
I absolutely love how my head fits. It isn’t snug enough to be claustrophobic or loose enough to shift around with simple movements. It does however slip while I’m dancing, which hasn’t been a problem as my vision isn’t impaired by it at all and it is easily fixed.
It is fully lined with lycra, all foam is covered.
Ventilation on the suit is good. I never have issues breathing. The main ventilation is through the mouth, with a little bit of circulation from the eyes. The back of the head also doesn’t have any foam so things stay relatively cool in the back. A small fan fits nicely in the mouth. If things get too hot, I can easily take my head on and off while fully suited up (with handpaws still on)
Vision is fantastic, the blind spot between the eyes isn’t that large, and after getting used to turning my head around to cover my peripherals, I found that I could confidently walk without a handler if need be.
One of the main reasons I went with Twisted as a maker is because their style compliments my drawing style well. The head perfectly matches how I draw and envision my fursona. The eyes and facial expression are bright and fun, the nose is big and dumb just like I wanted, and the ears are soft and squishy. One of the things I worked with Twisted the most in depth with the head was my fursona’s hair. It’s a completely nonsensical shape and when designing him I was thinking of looks, not practicality. After talking it out and doing some sketches we were able to find a way to make the hair work and they nailed it. The toothy-ness of some of their suits is another thing I really liked going in, and I love how my suit has big teeth without seeming intimidating. The profile if my suit head has a very nice shape and is very readable as an opossum~
The only real complaint I have is that the eye markings aren’t as visible as I’d like. Under bright lighting you can see them pretty well, but the perfect lighting isn’t found everywhere. On my reference I have a significantly lighter gray color, however due to limited fur options I went with a darker gray that was a different tone than the main body. Twisted offered up a few different options for me to choose from and I didn’t want to compromise by using white in my suit, even if it had the contrast I wanted.
Some other areas that might be of note: The base isn’t completely symmetrical, but Twisted hand carves bases so I don’t think there’s anything too out of the ordinary about that. Photos are rarely taken from head on and that’s the only time you can really tell. There are a couple of minor areas around the nose with choppier shaving, and there are some visible stitches, but the overall look is clean and satisfies me.
My suit has removable eyelids that are attached with velcro. They work quite well and the velcro on the head itself is hidden well as it is used to form the upper eyelid.
I also requested gauges on my suit. Twisted adds gauges to their suits by punching out a hole and then using actual jewelry to fill them. Right now I have silicone tunnels, but if I want to I can get another piece with the same gauge and switch it out. I haven’t tried yet but I believe I can change the jewelry out for something made of a different material (like wood or metal)
BodyGives information about the main body of the costume. If reviewing a separate set of pants/legs or torso, the answers would also go in this section.
My bodysuit fits me perfectly and is easy to move in, I can easily suit up by myself. Walking around at cons, going up and down stairs, and dancing are easy and I don’t feel restricted. I can move around quite erratically and I have not popped any seams yet. I can bend and squat while wearing my suit without any issues. The interior is not scratchy at all, the fur used has a soft backing, and while suiting I never feel “gross” from the amount of sweat.
It is quite warm, but nothing unreasonable. I would go as far as to say my bodysuit is comfortable to wear.
The neck is lined with minky.
I love how it looks. The fur Twisted chose was perfect. I think my favorite part is the black fur they chose for the arms and legs. It’s super soft and looks great.
The zipper is on the front of the suit and as long as my suit is brushed after zipping up you can’t see it.
Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.
My hands and feet are super comfortable! The feet are built on shoes and are comfy to wear around. They are a bit longer than standard shoe due to length added by the toes, but nothing that I can’t get used to within a few minutes of putting my suit on. Compared to other larger feet I’ve tried on, these are quite easy to wear.
I have two sets of hands, one being a bit poofier and with claws and the other being simple glove style hands. The poofy ones are great for going out, having fun, and taking pictures, but they do compromise my dexterity quite a bit. The glove ones aren’t as aesthetically pleasing, but I keep my full range of motion and they’re great for when I need to hold things.
The hands and feet are both lined with minky.
I loooooove how the feet look. Opossums have super weird feet and one of my must haves was funky opo feet and Twisted did a great job. They’re weird and sausage-y while still looking absolutely adorable. I have soft claws on my feet as I wanted to avoid having any unneeded clacking noises when I walk.
The hands are also amazing. They match my reference incredibly well, and I know Twisted put a lot of care into them. They shared a few prototypes before coming up with the final product. My main hands are padded on the back of the finger but not the front, meaning they have a nice shape to them and I have a little more dexterity than I would with puffy paws, but my fingers do show through the fabric a little. I have hard claws on my hands as they fit the look I wanted more than soft claws do. They are sculpted with Sculpey Clay. My secondary pair is just a simple glove type and they look great if you aren’t looking at them with a critical eye, they’re meant to be practical, not fabulous. Despite not having any padding and not changing the size of my hand at all, they still blend in with my bodysuit naturally.
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
I have two tails, one floor dragger (~5 feet) and one shorter one (~2.5 feet). Both have loops I can run any belt through
The floor dragger is so fantastic. It’s long and squishy and like a pillow. it looks great when I wear it, but since it’s a floor dragger it is better suited for casual outings in less crowded spaces. I usually carry this tail when I wear it to avoid getting it too dirty, so I’m down an arm but I also don’t have to deal with excess strain from dragging a heavy tail
My other tail is significantly shorter and perfect for walking in crowded areas and dancing. It’s short enough that it only hits the floor if I crouch significantly.
The tails both look great! The floor dragger looks amazing in photos and (in my opinion) is the perfect length for an opossum suit.
The shorter one is much shorter than my ideal opossum tail, but it’s still cute and has overall more functionality than a floor dragger.

Working with Twisted Leopard Creations has been a dream. There was always complete transparency, clear communication, and I never felt undervalued as a customer. I really appreciate the effort Twisted put into my commission and the general care they have for all of their clients. From day one I got to feel a part of the family, which was so helpful between getting to hear their feedback of their suits and how Twisted’s work has changed over time, to being able to meet the people I had been talking with for months.
The whole process was a positive experience and I’m incredibly glad I got to work with a maker who values their clients so highly.
