HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.

Wear Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to wear with regard to comfort, fit, material quality, etc.

The head fits perfectly, snug and secure but very comfortable. The eyes allow for a good amount of visibility, the mouth, eyes, and two additional holes allow for good ventilation. The interior is lined with a fabric. It absorbs sweat well and is easy to clean/air out!

Appearance Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to look at with regard to material quality, design, how closely it matches the concept, etc.

The head matches the character design, appears to be symmetrical in all aspects. The fur is very soft, cut to an appropriate length, and is easy to brush. The head overall matches the concept art and my fursona’s design very well. The expression is a great baseline and is easily adaptable through the use of magnetic eyelids to allow for different emotions. Grion has a huge talent for translating a 2D character to 3D.

Special Attachments and Features Information about any special or unique features this piece has with regard to the reviewer's satisfaction of them.

There are 2 pairs of magnetic eyelids that go over the eyes for expressing emotion, one pair for a more angry/cocky look, the other for a sad/sleepy look. The color perfectly matches the face, the magnets are strong, and I have not yet had them fall off. They are very easy to attach and remove, and I am very confident in their quality! They slightly block the upper portion of the field of view, but this is to be expected and is not an issue.

Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.

Wear Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to wear with regard to comfort, fit, material quality, etc.

The hands fit snugly and are very comfortable. There is no way they will ever fall off accidentally, but are easy to put on. They also allow for a good amount of tactility! I can use my camera while wearing them. They are soft and feel to be high quality. No seams have popped at the time of writing this review.

The same applies for the arm sleeves, which allow me to transition between long-sleeved and short-sleeved tops. The arms are connected by two elastic straps, preventing them from sagging (and helps prevent you from leaving one behind by mistake!). They also have a little tuft at the elbows, which lines up very well and adds a fun flair to them.

Appearance Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to look at with regard to material quality, design, how closely it matches the concept, etc.

Both the hands and arm sleeves perfectly match my design and the concept art. They are symmetrical and the claws (soft, fabric) are correct. The shaving is even, the fur feels very soft and looks very good! They are a great illusion of feathers despite being made out of fur, and are very easy to brush and clean. All of the colors are very well chosen and match my character as well.

TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.

Wear Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to wear with regard to comfort, fit, material quality, etc.

The tail attaches through the use of a belt, going through two loops on the tail, which is very easy to do. The tail has a really nice structure and weight, bobs naturally while walking, and does not sag. The tail is just as durable as the rest of the partial, is very soft, and is padded very well without getting deformed no matter how it is used. No seams or other features have popped or detached. It works as a wonderful makeshift pillow too, very multifunctional!

Appearance Satisfaction How satisfying this piece is to look at with regard to material quality, design, how closely it matches the concept, etc.

The appearance is very good. It perfectly matches the design of the character. Fur length is appropriate ans the fur is very soft. The transition between fur types and colors is very well done, and I’m happy with the colors that were used. The size, weight, and structure is absolutely perfect and exactly what I was hoping for. The feather illusion is also present here as well.

How was your concept art realized?

The maker doubles as an artist, they received my reference sheet and created a design based around it. We went through every step and iteration together, working to perfect it while keeping it feasible. I received multiple WIPs and was allowed to be active in the process. As previously stated, Grion has a talent for turning a 2D character into a 3D suit. I’m very satisfied with the concept art and how well it matches with the finished product.

I was also given the option to commission the concept art before officially ordering the partial, which helped calm my nerves.

How well does everything fit together and match up?

Everything fits together in terms of quality (very good), color, fur patterns and grain. Everything fits correctly, there are no visible gaps between connecting components (in this case, the hands and sleeves). The costume is consitsent with the maker’s style and definitely looks like it would be their most recent creation! There is a lot of attention to detail.

Overall Project Quality

I’m absolutely ecstatic with the results, and my expectations were exceeded. The price was very accessible, the completed partial is incredibly high quality, and it will be suit my uses perfectly. I have the utmost confidence that I will be able to use this partial for a long time.

Purchase Process Details the interactions between the customer/reviewer and the maker of the item with regard to the buying process.

Initial Contact

It was very easy. I initially contacted the maker through Twitter directly regarding their openings, and their website contained more than enough information. I paid them directly through a direct bank transfer. Grion provided me with the type of measurements needed inluding a helpful diagram. I had myself measured and sent this measurements to Grion.

Maker Response Time

Grion was very responsive and always responded within a few hours (at most, within 24 hours). Initial contact was through Twitter, but we both agreed to move over to Telegram once I confirmed my intent.

Maker Professionalism

Grion is incredibly friendly while remaining professional. They were very helpful and would give me extra information or context whenever I had a question or any doubts. We eventually became friends as the months passed, but the professionalism did not cease. In the event of a delay or free weekend, they let me know ahead of time. Grion also has a very good grip of the English language, so international clients should not be worried.

Project Completion Time

I was given an ETA of about 9-12 months, which was met. The Covid-19 pandemic had started before completion, but Grion still managed to deliver the partial on time, despite some logisitcal setbacks that they can’t be blamed for. I was aware of my position in the queue, and no projects were moved in front of mine. I was not demanding when it came to timeliness, as I preferred a complete result rather than a fast one. Once my partial was completed, it was shipped out very quickly through GLS. Tracking was provided, and aside from a quick Covid-19 related check, there were no delays in shipment.

Final Comments

Grion is an incredibly professional and friendly maker who takes enjoyment in their craft, being very open to extra features I had in mine (such as the eyelids). They were very communicative and I never felt in the dark when it came to the timeline, details, updates, etc. Grion speaks English very well and is open to questions, comments, or concerns. They are great for first-time suiters, or otherwise.

I would definitely work with Grion again, and recommend them to my friends, both European and international.

The end product is exactly how I was hoping it would be, and I can’t stress enough how satisfied I am with it! I know bird suiters can have a tough time finding someone they can be confident in, so I’d like to personally vouch for Grion!
