[YES] Miles the Owl Partial by Fursuit UP!
General InformationGives some information about the item and the person writing the review.
HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
The head fits perfectly, snug and secure but very comfortable. The eyes allow for a good amount of visibility, the mouth, eyes, and two additional holes allow for good ventilation. The interior is lined with a fabric. It absorbs sweat well and is easy to clean/air out!
The head matches the character design, appears to be symmetrical in all aspects. The fur is very soft, cut to an appropriate length, and is easy to brush. The head overall matches the concept art and my fursona’s design very well. The expression is a great baseline and is easily adaptable through the use of magnetic eyelids to allow for different emotions. Grion has a huge talent for translating a 2D character to 3D.
There are 2 pairs of magnetic eyelids that go over the eyes for expressing emotion, one pair for a more angry/cocky look, the other for a sad/sleepy look. The color perfectly matches the face, the magnets are strong, and I have not yet had them fall off. They are very easy to attach and remove, and I am very confident in their quality! They slightly block the upper portion of the field of view, but this is to be expected and is not an issue.
Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.
The hands fit snugly and are very comfortable. There is no way they will ever fall off accidentally, but are easy to put on. They also allow for a good amount of tactility! I can use my camera while wearing them. They are soft and feel to be high quality. No seams have popped at the time of writing this review.
The same applies for the arm sleeves, which allow me to transition between long-sleeved and short-sleeved tops. The arms are connected by two elastic straps, preventing them from sagging (and helps prevent you from leaving one behind by mistake!). They also have a little tuft at the elbows, which lines up very well and adds a fun flair to them.
Both the hands and arm sleeves perfectly match my design and the concept art. They are symmetrical and the claws (soft, fabric) are correct. The shaving is even, the fur feels very soft and looks very good! They are a great illusion of feathers despite being made out of fur, and are very easy to brush and clean. All of the colors are very well chosen and match my character as well.
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
The tail attaches through the use of a belt, going through two loops on the tail, which is very easy to do. The tail has a really nice structure and weight, bobs naturally while walking, and does not sag. The tail is just as durable as the rest of the partial, is very soft, and is padded very well without getting deformed no matter how it is used. No seams or other features have popped or detached. It works as a wonderful makeshift pillow too, very multifunctional!
The appearance is very good. It perfectly matches the design of the character. Fur length is appropriate ans the fur is very soft. The transition between fur types and colors is very well done, and I’m happy with the colors that were used. The size, weight, and structure is absolutely perfect and exactly what I was hoping for. The feather illusion is also present here as well.
OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.
I was also given the option to commission the concept art before officially ordering the partial, which helped calm my nerves.
Rating
Grion is an incredibly professional and friendly maker who takes enjoyment in their craft, being very open to extra features I had in mine (such as the eyelids). They were very communicative and I never felt in the dark when it came to the timeline, details, updates, etc. Grion speaks English very well and is open to questions, comments, or concerns. They are great for first-time suiters, or otherwise.
I would definitely work with Grion again, and recommend them to my friends, both European and international.
The end product is exactly how I was hoping it would be, and I can’t stress enough how satisfied I am with it! I know bird suiters can have a tough time finding someone they can be confident in, so I’d like to personally vouch for Grion!
