[YES] Bastan the Kitsune Digitigrade Fullsuit by Furry Tailor
General InformationGives some information about the item and the person writing the review.
HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
Head fits tightly, definitely secure and has built in balaclava. Well ventilated with a mouth that can open up to allow air/fans in and has been slightly modified to allow straws through for drinks. Vision is about as expected in fursuits with a small blind spot where the snout is but workable. Balaclava inside is sweat whicking so allows for easy cleaning.
So far only the jaw has been slightly lopsided (To allow for the fan/straw insertion) but is only noticeable if you are looking for that.
Markings match the character and not had any complaints on backing/shaving of the fur. Fur feels very soft to the touch and brushes rather well
Eyes are follow me style and have allowed to get some good expressions out of it.
Glowing purple eyes for the head along with some horns made of stuffed felt for ease of storage. They don’t add any extra time to putting the suit on or really add to the weight that much and the eyes can be turned off if not wanted
BodyGives information about the main body of the costume. If reviewing a separate set of pants/legs or torso, the answers would also go in this section.
Bodysuit fits well especially with the padding inside. Allowing for more natural movement, so far has been very durable and survived several washes. Interior is not lined with anything special though I do wear a full sweat-resistant undersuit.
There is room for a cooling rig to be worn as well and have not noticed the suit to be overly hot
Appearance wise the bodysuit ticks all the boxes for the character’s looks. Have not noticed anything uneven after the first wear and brushing. Like the head the fur feels soft to the touch. Overall very VERY satisfied with the bodysuit.
Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.
Both hands and feet for the suit fit well, the hands end up being tucked into the bodysuit to help secure them both while the feet have zip attachments to the legs to secure them there. Inside the feet is a comfortable slipper to help secure my feet into it which while not designed to deal with sweat is again helped by wearing sweat-whicking socks with my undersuit.
Both the feet and hands have proven to be very durable and since receiving the suit have got some specially made outdoor paws to wear rather than have ‘shoes’ over the indoor ones
The claws on the feet and hands really add to their appearance and give a more natural look to the character. Much like the head and bodysuit the fur is identical and feels spot on quality wise. Have not noticed anything uneven on either of them
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
The tails fit comfortably with a belt and even better when some suspenders are looped over to help distribute their weight though this is not mandatory. They have proven to be very durable, especially given their length.
When all of them are worn there are challenges sitting though this has been easily sorted with some practice of how to sit with them
The tails have a little more material on them to help with their durability so a good brushing is needed before wearing so it blends in more. Much like the other components the fur material is the same and blends in nicely with the rest of the suit.
Other than length the tails match wonderfully with the concept art (Though who’s going to make 35ft long tails!?)
The tails are in three parts. One big central tail and two ‘fan tails’ each with three tails on. The ‘fan tails’ have one mount point at the top for a belt to loop through to give the 7 tailed appearance. When worn altogether the weight is as expected rather high but not uncomfortable and can be held up with just a belt. Though have taken to wearing some loops to help distribute the weight over my shoulders. Thanks to this makeup the tails have been made extra durable.
OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.
While there was an alteration to the design it was a fairly obvious one for practicalities sake. Walking around with seven 35ft long tails just wouldn’t work.
Reference sheet to character wise I am immensely happy with the outcome
Would definitely recommend Mipsy to folks interested in getting a suit. Fast communication and a group on Telegram of others that have gotten suits from them to share experiences and advice as well.
