HeadGives information about the head of the costume. If reviewing a set of ears, the answers would also go in this section.
The head fits very comfortably on my head! Its snug enough to not wiggle around, and loose enough to not feel extremely tight against my face. As far as ventilation goes, it is decent and I’m able to breathe well, but during extended use sessions like at a convention a small, mobile fan does really go a long way to help keep cool. Vision is good and I have been able to navigate places like a con space with little issue on my own.
The symmetry is excellent. My character has a pair of stars on each cheek and they are perfectly aligned on both sides, as well as my character’s other markings. The shaving on the suit is even and left the right amount of fluffiness in the right places for the character. The fur that was used was very soft and when speaking to others with more experience with suits, I am told that the fur is of very good quality. I am satisfied in my choice for most design appearances of the head, but after owning a suit if I were to choose again, I would like to go with the follow-me eyes instead of the static ones. Regardless of that fact though, I am able to achieve varied and wonderful looking photos from multiple angles.
Hands and FeetGives information about the hands and/or feet of the costume.
The paws and feet have been insanely comfortable to wear and use and are probably one of the most complimented parts of the suit! I had four digit padded paws made with claw tips added on. While it took some getting used to using the four digits, I find that I can still do a lot of basic things with them. I’ve had no issues with the seams of the paws, and they seem to be holding on very, very strongly. Everyone loves the plush feel of both the hands and feet, and I couldn’t be happier with them.
The appearance of both the hands and feet are stellar. The colors were excellent, and like mentioned before, the quality of the fur is very good. The final product matches the design of the character perfectly.
TailsGives information about any tails the costume may have.
The tail is another wonderful addition. It’s just the right length, and curled at the right point where it doesn’t drag on the floor. I was most worried about the durability of the tail, but after a very thorough con experience it held up way beyond expectations. There would be times where I would often forget I was even wearing it and managed to continue through my day without any issues.
The tail is gorgeous, and all the colors chosen were wonderful. The portions used for the three-tones of color on the tail were matching spot on to the reference artwork.
OverallHow satisfied the reviewer is with the overall buying experience, including their interactions with the maker and the resulting final product.
This was a project that I did not take lightly. Since my earliest days in the fandom, I had been wanting to experience living through the eyes of my character and bringing joy to not only myself but those around me. It was a blast getting to work with Ritz to make this into a reality. Enthis was a long time coming. I had been waiting to get a suit for my nearly 12 years in the fandom, and put a lot of thought into it over the years. I have been following Ritz’s artwork for about a decade now, and I never thought that I would commission a project like this from them. I’m happy that I was able to do this, and give a big recommendation to anyone who is considering working with this maker!
