Head

Wear Satisfaction

The head fits fairly well. It fits my glasses as I wanted, and the lining is soft and comfortable. The head was originally too big, but I have a smaller head so that wasn’t unexpected and was easily fixed with my own lined foam insert. Roofur also provided his own lined inserts to use as well. The moving jaw was too tight for me to move it but after a few videos and emails we came to a solution. With any moving parts like this, some minor customization is typically needed.

Visual Satisfaction

The head looks phenomenal, The shaving is excellent, the shapes correct, and the eyes are perfect. The only issue I had were all of her whiskers were destroyed in shipping. Roofur admitted they hadn’t had much experience with whiskers so they unintentionally used a weak material. I replaced them with my own material and all is well.

Special Attachments and Features

The head has magnet-activated LED eyes and a fan. The magnet activation technology is ingenious and is super easy to use! A magnet in one paw triggers two different magnets in the face to control these components, so I can turn them on and off easily, The electronics are powered by a power bank that fits perfectly in a tunnel made in the head foam. I did have to purchase the power bank from Amazon; Roofur does not supply them.

Body

Wear Satisfaction

The body fits wonderfully. I asked for a semi-tight suit to accommodate my fluctuating weight while I pursue weight loss and he fulfilled this request perfectly. It’s super comfortable. There’s a pocket on the inside so I can carry my phone and keys if I’m suiting without a bag or handler.

Visual Satisfaction

The body looks perfect. It has padding in all the right places to bring my character to life.

Hands and Feet

Wear Satisfaction

The hands and feet are very comfortable. The hands are lined, which does make them hotter, but it is tolerable. The feet slip on easily and I was even able to work in them for Halloween without any foot pain.

Visual Satisfaction

The feet are outdoor feet and look great with the body, but not so much on their own so I made a second set of feet for indoor and partial use. The hands are huge but it works very well with the rest of the suit!

Special Attachments and Features

My left handpaw has a custom design embedded into a pawpad. Roofur made this feature work wonderfully. The hands also have finger escapes so I can still do things, and those work very well. You can’t see them when I’m moving around in the suit.

Tails

Wear Satisfaction

The tail is part of the reason I commissioned Roofur. I needed my new suit to accommodate an articulated tail I had commissioned a few years back, Roofur did phenomenally and was able to accommodate my tail on measurements alone, while also making a floor dragger as well. The new tail also isn’t horribly heavy.

Visual Satisfaction

Roofur made the new tail near identical to the one I already owned. I’m very happy with it.

Overall

Product Satisfaction

How was your concept art realized?
He got the concept art down to a T.

How well does everything fit together and match up?
The suit looks fantastic. I could not be happier with how everything looks and matches up.

Overall Project Quality
I’m ecstatic about the product I received. She’s more than perfect.

Purchase Process

Initial Contact
I initially contacted Roofur about the tail issue. He responded quickly and we got to the quote process shortly afterward.

Maker Response Time
He responded fairly quickly. There were times where contact dropped but I was not in the queue yet so I was not a priority at that time. I was assembling materials and needed to ask some questions. Nothing urgent by far. Once my commission was in the active queue, progress was constant. He sent plenty of WIPs and kept me involved in the building process. Nothing was done without me knowing about it and signing off on it.

Maker Professionalism
Roofur is very professional. I have no complaints whatsoever. He designed his website to make getting info on your commission extremely easy. You can make payments, see an invoice breakdown, see exactly where you are on the waitlist with real-time updates, see what spot you’re in when you are put in the queue, upload reference files, and see your WIPs all from the website. It is incredibly streamlined and super user-friendly.

Project Completion Time
The project was made in a perfectly reasonable amount of time. I expected a summer 2020 completion and got a spring completion.

Final Comments
Here I will explain why I’m making this review. TLDR at the bottom.

On November 7, 2020, my bodysuit got damaged. I had just purchased a new washing machine and had previously tested it, so I felt comfortable washing my suit, which desperately needed it. What I did not know was that my washer was installed with the hot and cold hoses backward. Thus, an all-cold setting ended up being an all-hot water wash. My tests were on a warm/cold cycle so I had no idea anything was wrong. I checked on the suit partway through the cycle to check on the NFT fur and make sure my new washer was behaving nicely, and steam came out when I opened the door. I removed the suit and started emergency care, but it was too late. The shag fur was ruined. The NFT and Tissavel survived since they are both modacrylic and can handle more heat than normal acrylic fur, and I got to it before the wash got any hotter.

I contacted Roofur about this and he came through and replaced all of the damaged shag fur for me for a relatively nominal fee. This was not a small task. I supplied the fur since it had to be from a specific supplier. I shipped the body out on December 30th and got the suit back on March 3rd. It took him no time at all to fix my body between his other current commissioners. The suit looks and feels just like it did before, with only the neck ring still being the old fur as it’s hidden by the suit head anyway.

TLDR: My bodysuit got irreversibly heat damaged and Roofur went above and beyond to fix it.

My final thoughts are that Roofur is an absolutely fantastic fursuit maker. He does everything in his ability to make the perfect costumes for his customers and will go above and beyond to resolve any issues, minor or major. I cannot recommend them enough.
