Our website is hosted by BlackFox IT, which is owned by Fursuit Reviews current operator, CatkinFox. Catkin is content to pay it to help serve the fursuiting community in the event of no donations. However, donations are always appreciated. - Pays contractors.
We look for volunteers whenever possible, but sometimes we need to hire paid assistance to help with our goals. You can help us pay coders, developers, graphic designers, photographers, artists, etc., for content directly related to the FursuitReview website on an as-needed basis. We would also like to pay our volunteer reviewers too, occasionally. - Saves for future updates.
Any money that exceeds our current needs goes into a high-interest bank account saved for future endeavors, including but not limited to site rebuilds/enhancements, business licensing, and associated fees that may arise. This money is saved for FursuitReview specifically and no donations are used for personal gain by Fursuit Reviews operators, staff or volunteers.
About FursuitReview
FursuitReview is a website dedicated to showcasing reviews for fursuits, makers, and other fashion or materials related to the furry community. Previous reviewing groups have existed, but they have all become inactive for one reason or another. FursuitReview tries to fill that void while also offering things previous groups did not. The FursuitReview page on FurAffinity began on 8 August 2015 with the FursuitReview.com website following soon after.
Fursuit Review as it appeared back in 2016, we’ve come a long way!
While other review groups focused solely on fursuits, FursuitReview allows reviews of single parts (ears, paws, tails, etc.) and non-fursuit clothing such as Kigurumi. FursuitReview only has one review form, but if your product was made by someone in the furry community and you think you can describe your experience using this form, you are more than welcome to submit your review!
FursuitReview wants the importance of a review to be the fact that it exists. We don’t want you to ask “Should you write a review?” We want you to ALWAYS write a review, no matter how biased you think you will be, how old your item is, or how long you’ve owned it. A review is always relevant. As long as you follow the rules, a review will be accepted. Reviews help everyone in the community, including yourself. If you have the time, write a review!
About the FSR Staff
Fursuit Review was made possible by the dedicated work and passion of Jy, (FA | Twitter) the sites creator. Jy discovered costuming and, later, fursuiting back in 2012. He had long been a fan of fursuit review groups. Dedicated to improving the community and consumer awareness around fursuiting he later founded the site. Jy has much retired now after over 6 years being the sites administrator.
In 2022 the site was passed to Catkin (FA | Twitter | Website), a hobbyist web developer from Scotland. Catkin has been in the furry fandom since 2017 and is passionate about the community. Catkin provides the website with its hosting through his part time web hosting business and works alongside the sites fellow developer, Veelkoov (Twitter), the person behind the amazing getfursu.it site. With work split up with the future managing and design of the site done by Catkin and backend work by Veelkoov.
Fursuit Review is truly powered by the passion of our volunteers who work diligently adding and checking reviews, corresponding with makers, keeping the website running and working together to share Fursuit Review’s mission. We have to thank our long-time volunteer moderator Lu, a hobbyist seamstress and amateur fursuit maker from France for posting most of the reviews that are featured on the site and for managing FSR’s social accounts.
