Features: None Concept Art Photos of Completed Product Overall Initial ContactInitial contact was super easy. They have a quote form online which is really detailed. I initially met the maker at a con in person (they were the first fursuit I had ever seen at a con and I was immediately like "this is the style I want"). The form was super thorough and mostly really easy to understand. The measurements were a bit hard to understand since I had no prior experience but the maker was super helpful in showing me how to get them. Maker CommunicationThe maker is really professional in communicating. If there is an issue, they'll let you know. If you ask for an update, they'll provide one. They sent regular update photos to me by telegram to make sure everything was OK before proceeding with the next part. I initially filled out a quote form on Google forms but then communicated with the maker via Telegram as that was the method I preferred. The form gave an option to choose how you want to be contacted after filling out the quote form. Project Completion TimeReally satisfied. The maker only has a few things in their queue at a time and will finish those before accepting more and they will update you with where you are. When they were working on mine, they had a trello queue where you can see what is done on what suit at any time (I don't know if this page is still up). Once it was my turn in the queue, I was the maker's focus. The maker will fully complete one suit then work on the next, not work on multiple suits at once. From the time of submitting my commission to the time of start was 2 months, and another 2 months to get the suit done. I had the deadline of Christmas day and it was done 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I picked up the suit from my maker's house directly. They were very flexible and allowed me to have the suit kept there from December 12th to December 26th when I picked it up. Overall Project QualityThe final result absolutely exceeded my expectations, and I am 100% satisfied with how my suit turned out. The thing has taken abuse that goes beyond normal wear and tear like an absolute tank. The only minor issue happened as described in the head section, which the maker has gone out of their way to rectify. The fabric has held up super well and I have yet to see the backing anywhere except my fingers. It has not yellowed when compared to the fabric swaths my maker provided with the suit despite being almost completely white (said swaths have been stored in a ziploc in a dark place in my basement). None of the fur has melted or otherwise deformed as well. The suit is comfortable to wear and provides excellent mobility. It does not get unbearably hot inside and had really good ventilation. All the fur is pointing in the direction that it should be. None of the seams are noticeable and there are no gaps. Everything matches the design provided. The suit came with a 1 year warranty for normal wear and tear, with the eye paint repair as well as the glue split covered under the warranty. I am a big fan of this as it shows the maker is committed to fixing any mistakes they might have made when making the suit. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head is a very small bit loose on me. I do notice it sliding around on my head sometimes, especially when I shake my head no or nod yes. It's not like I feel like it will fall off of me from doing regular tasks, but It has flown off of me when dancing a couple of times. That's really the only time it ever falls off. Nothing pokes me or stabs me anywhere. The fursuit head is lined with quilted broadcloath that is secured by 5 points of velcro inside. It can be taken out and laundered by itself in the washing machine, which is super convenient for washing because it also means I can wipe the foam on the inside off if needed. The lining absorbs sweat super well and also dries pretty quickly when removed. The head is quite breathable when used normally (i.e. just casually walking about and whatnot) but it can get a bit stuffy if you start doing really demanding tasks such as breakdancing or shoveling snow, both of which I have done with the head on. The main hole is the mouth, and then the eye mesh also provides some ventilation as well. I do think the ventilation is adequate. The vision is really well and has a really big angle. I only notice that my vision is limited when I try to glance to the side. There is a very slight blind spot between the eyes but unless you put something right in my face, I will be able to see it. There is also a bit of vision through the mouth at times. I have done all sorts of really extreme stuff in this head, such as breakdancing, sledding, and some light wrestling. I have squashed his face in; fallen onto concrete with it; yeeted it at someone as hard as I could; landed on the side of his ears a couple of times; used his mouth as a carry handle; and have hit his ears into numerous low-hanging things such as branches, the ceiling fan in my basement, low ceilings, doorways, and light fixtures. I have pinned a heavy ushanka hat to his ear before as well as railroad engineer hats. They haven't ripped the backing or bent the ears or anything. The only problem I have had is a glue seam started to split after maybe 6 months, but it was promptly fixed by the maker when we saw each other again. Other than that, there have been no problems whatsoever. Not a single split seam, velcro pad for liner fall off, anything. Heck, I had someone fall onto me by accident and elbow my suit's eye but his eye mesh wasn't the thing that broke, it was some hot glue holding his eye to the foam that came loose. That was the only other issue and that was due to extreme forces being applied. Foxes In Boxes fursuit heads so durable, I don't even think I could break a seam if I wanted to. These things are tough and mine has been put though things that most fursuits won't be put through, so if you're looking for a maker to make something that will stand the test of time and can take quite a bit of abuse, I would recommend going with them. Visual SatisfactionI am really pleased with how he came out visually. Everything that I requested matches the character design that I provided. I don't have any major markings, but the tips of my ears and my eyebrows are symmetrical on the front (both) and the back (for the ear tips). The shaving is completely even and the transitions between lengths are what I had in mind. I cannot see the backing. The fur feels super nice, even after 2 years of owning him. It isn't crunchy but feels like silk. Maker used Big Z long pile ecoshag for white and black and Howl Fabrics deluxe fox silver grey for the little tufts in the ears and Joann anti-pill fleece for dark grey part of ears and his tongue. None of his *fur* markings run or bleed, but his eyes have had 1 instance where some of the paint on his eye peeled off after leaving a wet paper towel in his eye for about 2 hours when cleaning. Scarlet was happy to fix the eye for free though after I mentioned what had happened (this was the first time something like this had happened on her water-resistant eyes, and was *NOT* their fault). Otherwise, the eyes are water resistant as advertised. I can achieve varied expressions from different angles. I have follow-me eyes and I also ordered a pair of eyelids held on by magnets. At the time of this review, the eyelids are being redone by the maker to include stronger magnets, as the initial magnets used were weak and tended to fall off with a light shake. The maker has started using stronger magnets for new fursuits, however. Upper Body Wear SatisfactionItem in this category: arm sleeves held together by elastic band I don't particularly wear this piece often, as I am usually wearing long sleeves in suit. When I do wear them, however, they have a tendency to slide out from under short sleeved shirts I wear which is really annoying. I have found that putting mattress topper straps to keep the permanent elastic that holds them together shorter helps with this though. I will say it is quite comfortable to wear when I do wear it. I have a really large range of motion in it and don't feel like I am going to constantly pop a seam on them. The elastic straps are sewn in really well too. Airflow is nice as well. There is no lining in these sleeves, it is just a tube of fabric. Can be washed in a washing machine. Visual SatisfactionI don't have much to say here. They match the character design, as his arms are solid white. No shaving was done. Fur is the same as the head. Hands Wear SatisfactionThe hands are super easy to put on and off and are super comfortable to wear. They do not have lining and are flat, 4-fingered paws. They are like gloves when it comes to length. and my wrists don't show when I wear them unless I bend my hands really far, in which case my wrists will barely show. They match the character's design. I do not have any paw pads on his hands, and over the course of 2 years, his fingers have lost fur and the backing and my real-life fingers can be seen as a result. Other than that, they have held up. I have done breakdancing, snow shoveling, boxing, and have played games with these paws on, and not a single seam has popped in these things. I am super satisfied with the seam durability. It is hard to tell which one is left and which one is right, as they are not marked as left or right. Can be washed in a washing machine. Visual SatisfactionThe shaving is even and the hands match the character design. Fur is the same as the head. Tail Wear SatisfactionHonestly, I kinda forget that I have my tail on with it unless I sit down or someone tugs it. It's just a nub tail and has held up really well. The thing is stuffed with polyfill and I can pull the tail without ripping the belt loops off. A belt loop is angled slightly but does not affect how it looks when worn. Visual SatisfactionOne of the belt loops is a bit lopsided, but nothing visible. Everything else is symmetric and matches the character design. It stays on straight for me and acts how I would epect it. Fur is the same as used for the head. Feet Wear SatisfactionThe feet are comfortable to wear. They are shoes with the foam built around them, with lining made from what I think is spandex on the inside where the feet extend beyond the shoe base. The base is EVA foam. They feel like regular shoes and are super comfortable even after at least 100 hours in them. I even use them as my slippers. Despite doing the aforementioned activities in these, no seams have popped and the foam still feels secure to the shoe base. It is hard to tell which one is left and which one is right, as they are not marked as left or right. Can be washed in a washing machine. Visual SatisfactionAll of the toes on the feet are symmetrical and shaving was really well done and even. They, like the rest of the all-white parts of the suit, match the design provided. These parts have stained though, but have been super easy to clean off with only one stubborn stain that I can't get off. I have gotten black industrial grease on the feet twice from an escalator and both times I was able to get all of it out by dousing it with isopropyl alcohol. I have been able to get grass stains off as well. These can be washed in the washing machine, which is nice Special FeaturesMagnetic eyelids: There are 5 neodymium magnets in my head for each eye (10 total) and 4 in each eyelid. The initial eyelids were super weak and fell off with gentle shaking. They are currently being redone, free of charge, by the maker as they have transitioned to stronger magnets. The magnets allow for the eyelids to be positioned pretty much any way you want, even sideways if you so desire. I really like this feature the maker provides and how it was implemented, as the magnets are not noticeable in the head when no eyelids are used. Removable tongue: Just a removable tongue.
