I made an agreement with the maker to kickstart their fursuit making by commissioning their first suit after some conversations about fursuit making.
They showed off in progress images and details very frequently! We communicated over discord and telegram. They were very kind in explaining the process and listening to my input
The suit was created in time for Confuzzled 2024, as promised. which I was very happy about
I think the suit was completed to a very high standard, especially given it was one of this makers earliest projects. It has not shown any signs of wear despite being worn to multiple events since I have received it.
The suit gets many lookers and complements every time it is worn.
The fabric work on the suit is immaculate, and the seams are very both high quality and sturdy.
Overall everything fits me perfectly, and the design of the suit is very much inline with what the maker has gone on to create since.
The cost of everything was especially notable given the quality of work done!
The head is a very comfortable fit. It has a 3d printed shell with my head size in mind, and it is a fully custom shape.
Putting the head on is quite simple and not too obtrusive, but is still very easy to get on and off. Once on it does not feel loose.
The vision inside is quite good, and the eyes are level with my own inside the head.
Ventilation is not especially good but that is to be expected with such a small mouth on a fursuit head. This makes wearing it for longer periods difficult, but being outdoors or in well ventilated areas mitigates this well.
The head is very clean in terms of it's fur and patterning. The shaving is quite consistent all around. The fur brushes quite easily and is all patterned in the correct directions.
The head is incredibly similar to the references given, especially due to it not being based off any preexisting templates for heads.
The eyes are static, but are printed on the mesh for a very striking cartoony look. There are magnets in the eyebrows to twist different expressions out of him. He has 3d printed glasses to wear as an accessory too.
His tongue is removable and interchangeable with two versions. One has a bell in it and the other does not
The bodysuit fits me perfectly. I have a fairly extensive range of movement all over, the thighs are padded to make digitigrade legs which naturally restrict some movement but this does not translate to the fabric forcing my legs to remain in place. There is some restriction in the shoulders if I raise my arms up but this is fairly minor.
There is no lining on the inside, but construction marks do not bleed through to my skin or clothes.
The suit feels a normal amount of heat and is not too hot typically. I usually wear an ice pack vest underneath for extra cooling but it's not strictly necessary.
The bodysuit has some intricate patterning that is quite striking and very accurate to the references given! The length of fur along the body is exactly what I wanted out of the suit. The fur is soft and smooth, and is easily brushed.
There is padding in the legs, and it is adjustable via zips on the inside where I can add or remove stuffing, so I can always adjust it to my desires. This also helps with cleaning the suit as I can remove all the stuffing.
The hand paws are 4 fingered, and complete the look of the suit quite nicely. They feel very comfortable and fitting. They aren't too difficult to take on or off. The paw beans are stuffed to the right amount that they aren't too hard or soft.
The beans are a delight! Some of the best hand paws I've seen. The fur is shaved around the fingers to accentuate their shape and is especially consistent.
The tail is a long, thin cat tail. It hooks into a belt loop for wearing and can be worn separate from the full suit. It has some weight and momentum to it when worn and moved around which is especially satisfying. It's able to take fast and reckless body movements without issue, making it great for wearing while dancing
The tail is long, and striking. It really completes the look of the full suit when worn together and also makes for a wonderful accessory on its own. The design is fairly simple but the patterning is spot on. It moves with some hefty momentum that I like quite a lot and is a good balance between rigid and flexible.
Initially the fit of the feet was quite loose and they ended up falling off with every step. But the maker kindly fixed this and restuffed them so that this would not happen. Now they are a comfortable but tight fit that doesn't fall off at all.
The feet have a lining that helps with the comfort. They are quite large and very padded so this is especially useful here. The fur pattern and length of fur is perfect, with the toes being shaved to shape them better.
These are outdoor feet so the sole is a thick waterproof mat.
I find them incredibly comfortable and also make very effective slippers in the cold weather!
The feet look fantastic, they are suitably cartoonish and large. Their shaving around the toes is great and everything is symmetrical.
There is a wire harness and speaker system inside the suit that can be used by the suiter to play pre programmed voice lines. It is activated by magnets in the paws that touch off eachother. It's a great way to complete the character and have additional communication as a silent suiter/character
