Extremely easy to contact, I had followed them on twitter for some time, and reached out when they had them open.
We initially spoke in English but switched to Mandarin as we are both native speakers. Replies did take some time due to time zone differences, but were professional/friendly initially, but became very sparse. They did include a set of eyelids (mentioned above), and were friendly when I asked them to change the design of the eyes/pupils to match my references.
Our initial discussions had placed the completion date in early June, as that was when I was able to receive domestic shipping and would be in China, and was assured several times that this was an achievable deadline. My timing did end up being postponed until late July/early August, which I communicated in May, but the maker did not respond about the estimated timeline. I was aware there were other projects being made but not anything else.
The head and paws were shipped together in a large unsealed plastic bag inside of a cardboard box with no padding/protection and the ears were folded down to make them fit, though the maker did offer to pay the (domestic) shipping cost as it saved them the trouble of international shipping. Tracking was provided and it arrived on time.
The lack of ventilation and the messy markings/lack of trimming makes the head both difficult to wear for any period of time beyond maybe 10-20 minute stints before needing a break in a fairly cool climate. The materials seem to be of good quality however, the lining and zipper on the neck are a nice touch. Everything is the same colours, but the fit is off (I offered my measurements multiple times to no response), and there's a lot of things that don't seem to be properly glued in place or secured, such as the mouth/lips, eyelashes, inside of the ears. The lack of trimming, for example one ear having the marking in the back shaved out but not the other led to me having to do a lot of trimming to clean things up to a manageable state where the markings were actually visible. The paws are extremely uncomfortable to wear due to the scratchy insides (unlined), and were not at all what I was envisioning when I had seen the other paws they had made. The maker did include a pair of eyelids for free, but they are untrimmed and also the hot glue is pulling off already.
Some of the seams in the paws have gaps that I had to repair myself, and I'm worried about the longevity of the piece because of how much the hot glue seems to be coming off.
I had picked this maker initially because of the strawberry puppy head they had made, which had very clean markings and also paws that I liked the shape/design of (I was looking for mochi/plush style paws), but looking at their other work, it feels like my commission falls flat of their usual style, which looks very clean and put together.
The head has a super soft lining that seems fairly moisture wicking and has cute little cats all over it. Visibility is fine and as expected for the style of head, the eyes are large so it isn't too bad at all. There is an adjustable head form/holder (I am not sure what to call it?) inside to make sure the head fits comfortable, and it has very minimal padding to reduce fatigue/discomfort/the form digging in. The head is very light and not tiring to wear. There is a zipper hidden in the side of the neck to help get the head on easier.
The head/neck opening however is very small, and I can barely fit my head through it. The maker did not ask for measurements despite me asking if they needed them multiple times. There is almost no ventilation, only the eye mesh and the extremely small mouth, and the fur on the neck gets stuck in the zipper which makes it hard to open and close.
The markings are extremely lopsided and sloppy, and a lot of things were untrimmed (the entirety of the ears, except one of the heart markings on the back had been shaved out, but not on the other), there is visible hot glue around the mouth and eyes, the eyeliner/eyelashes is pulling off when I try to remove the eyelids, the ears are the incorrect shape, there are areas around the ears that aren't glued down at all. It is also a little large in my opinion, but the maker did not give measurements at any point. The fur is also extremely long, though I will admit I didn't really specify the fur length.
The ears are also the wrong shape despite me sending several images of what I wanted drawn over what they had sent me, and the blue markings on the ears should go farther down.
The paws are unlined, and have a very scratchy interior. Maker did not ask for any measurements despite me asking multiple times if they needed them. There is no elastic so they do tend to slide down my forearms (they go just below mid forearm)
The paws are completely unshaved except for the choppy shave on the fingers, and the fingers are a little lopsided and flat. The colours are fine. The paws also don't match the style of the previous paws they have made on their page.
