Prior ExperienceI've made, owned, and wore my own fursuit before, but have not owned a plushie style suit like this one.

Wear Time25

Informed Maker of IssuesYes, I had a couple popped seams and a crease in the fur after my first con. They helped me fix both issues through telegram chat. Their post handoff support has been incredible.

Overall

Initial ContactOverall the initial communication was fantastic. It was all very professional and I never felt like my information was being mishandled. The maker has a very professional website and active social media and its easy to find them. They have a quote form open at all times, making it very easy to reach out to them for one. It was my initial point of contact with them. They gave me a clear quote via email and it was a great way to make sure they were ok with my idea of a plush suit. The submission for a commission slot was also through their website. When I was accepted, also by email, it was very clear what they needed from me, They drafted a contract, and I paid up-front through squareup. They sent me clear instructions for my DTD and measurements, and were prompt in receiving the DTD and communicating that it was received.

Maker CommunicationCFStudios absolutely crushes it with communication. Camille and Aleks are wonderful and courteous! Everything was handled extremely professionally, they were very clear about what was happening throughout the process, gave me regular updates, and always responded in a timely manner. We started with email communication, and I was given the option to switch to Telegram soon after acceptance or continue with email. I chose to use Telegram. We had a separate chat specifically for my suit's construction process. They were always friendly and professional. I was given clear timelines, updates, and lots of progress pics! I never had to wonder what was happening with my suit. They asked me for my input when it was needed and took it seriously, adjusting things as I asked. They made sure I got exactly what I wanted. I usually heard back from them within a few hours during their business hours (they have regular, posted hours), and never over one business day. After completion of the suit, they remained open to communication for any issues that came up, and were as friendly and professional as ever in the after-completion communication. CFStudios gets an A+ in communication!

Project Completion TimeMy slot was accepted in January 2021, with an ETA of Q3 2021 (around August/September). They started construction on-time, in April. The suit was completed a little later than expected, in November 2021. There was a fur supplier issue that delayed stocking of a specific fur color we agreed on at the beginning of the process. My maker was fully transparent with me about this, and gave me the option to either wait for the color to come back in stock, or choose a different color. I chose to wait for it to come back in stock, and potentially finish the suit later than expected. These things happen (especially during a pandemic) and I don't hold it against CFStudios at all, nor do I hold it against them that it took a few months longer than expected. For making a fursuit, especially a plush suit of this size, a few months is really not that much longer to wait. I'm still very happy with the completion time. I live close to the maker, so we arranged a pick-up rather than shipping. This was organized in a timely manner after completion.

Overall Project QualityOverall I'm extremely happy with the suit I received from CFStudios. He's big, soft, and extremely huggable, everything I could've ever wanted for this suit! It's surprisingly comfortable to wear for a plush suit. With a cooling vest, I can wear him actively for hours. If I'm mostly stationary, I hardly need the vest. He was a huge hit at the first convention I brought him to. Everyone loved to hug him, I got lots of compliments about how he looks and feels, and the huge floor-dragger panda tail was a big hit.

The construction of every piece is extremely high quality and has professional touches like interior lining, access zippers, snap-button wrist escapes, and interior logo tags. It feels great to wear considering it's a hot, heavy plush suit. The fit of everything is great and my range of motion while wearing it is amazing. I owe the ease of wear to its construction. The materials chosen are high quality. The interior lining material feels great and doesn't poke or pull anywhere. The fur is soft and also feels great. The colors chosen fit my character perfectly. All the markings and seams line up well and look just like the concept art. I like that the feet and tail zip on. When they're attached, it looks seamless and complete. The head feels light with great ventilation and sight. The zipper on the back makes it easy to take off and hides well.

The overall look is amazing! I love this maker's style. They knock it out of the park in terms of body shaping and this suit is no exception. They made he body shape big and soft with extra padding in the chest and back, exactly as I envisioned it. I'm so happy with his overall body shape. I love his smiley, friendly expression. His face shape is accurate to the species and concept art; its very fitting for a red panda and looks great. The big tail is just how I wanted it. All the pieces visually transition well with each other.

I can't express enough how happy I am overall!

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe head is lightweight with great ventilation and vision. I can breathe and see perfectly well in it. It fits well to my head and the maker provided me with padding pieces to use if it's too loose (though I haven't had to use them). The back of the head zips up, making it easy to put on and take off. The interior is lined with athletic/stretch material. It absorbs my sweat as needed and can easily be aired out and cleaned with the zipper open. I have attachable velcro eyelids which have functioned as expected, allowing me several expressions. The tongue is also attached with velcro and is removable.

Visual SatisfactionThe look is super cute! I love his smiley expression. I got attachable eyelids which I usually use for sleepy or angry expressions. The maker even made the head a little bigger than normal to proportionally match the bigger body. I appreciate that the snout shape is fitting for a red panda, and doesn't look like a canid snout. The markings and colors are accurate to the reference images. The symmetry is great. The shave job is phenomenal, certainly one of the best I've ever seen! It's very even with good length transitions. The eyes are follow-me toony style, and the follow-me effect works. His cheeks are fluffy, as they are in the character design. The fur is soft and good quality teddy, and brushes well. Overall I'm very satisfied.

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionI'm overall very satisfied with the fit and wear of they bodysuit. There's no extra difficulty I notice in wearing this suit other than what is expected with a plush suit. In fact, it's easier to wear and handle than I expected it to be.

There's an interior lining of athletic/stretch fabric that fits to my body under all of the polyfill stuffing. The interior suit fits very well and is overall comfortable, with no area feeling too tight or too loose. The hands are sewn onto the body with wrist escapes. My hands fit nicely inside and the arms are a good length for me. I can get my hands out of the wrist escapes with little trouble. Usually, I need some help from a handler to: 1) get my hands back into the wrist escapes and close them, 2) while putting the suit on, pull the zipper up or get my hands back in the wrist escapes if I zip it myself, and 3) put my head on while I'm wearing the bodysuit. Other than zipping the zipper, I can feasibly, mostly put the body on myself. Though help always makes the process smoother. Because of all of the stuffing, I do need to be careful while putting him on to not pull on the lining/pop any seams.

I'm constantly impressed with my range of motion in the suit, especially considering it's a plush suit. I can move around surprisingly well and never worry about popping seams while wearing it. It gets about as hot and stuffy as expected for a plush suit. If anything, less so. With a cooling vest, I can wear it actively at a con (walking, standing, generally moving around) until the cooling packs in the vest melt, which is usually 2-3 hours or so. Longer if I'm not active at all or mostly sitting. The lining absorbs my sweat about as well as I can expect it to. Overall the durability of the suit is very good, especially considering its large size and construction. I popped two seams in the interior lining while putting it on early in my ownership of it. But I've since been much more careful while putting it on and have had no more issues.

The body washes very well with the instructions provided by my maker. I can remove all of the stuffing through zipper access openings in the lining, making it easy to wash and store the bodysuit.

Visual SatisfactionVisually, the body of this suit is everything I wanted it to be. I gave them an idea of the body shape that I wanted (with more filling in the chest and back than a usual plush suit) and CFStudios delivered on it. They executed the body shaping excellently, and exactly as I envisioned. The markings and symmetry are very good, and look just like the concept art. The fur is soft and high quality teddy fur, and brushes/washes well. The fur around the neck and butt is longer and slightly more rough. The orange areas on the hand paws are minky and very soft. There's a decorative minky tag on his butt, and I gave the maker the freedom to embroider their logo on it. It looks very good! The plush-style hands are cute and accurate to the concept art. The shave job is good and even all over with length changes that make sense. Overall I'm extremely happy with the look, especially with their execution of the body shape and proportions for the plush suit. I get a lot of compliments about the soft look and feel (and hugs!) of this body suit.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail zips onto the bodysuit. There are also belt loops for partial wearing. It feels very sturdy when it's attached in both cases. It's a big tail (about 6 ft. long!) and firmly in floor-dragger territory, though I or a handler carry it when walking. Surprisingly I don't even feel the tail's weight while wearing the body (though copious amounts of butt stuffing helps with that). I've had no issues with seams popping, tearing, or other wear. There's a minky tag towards the end of the tail that I can use to help hold it. While the body suit's plush hands make it hard for me to utilize the tag, it's great for my handler or while wearing it in a partial setup. I can remove the stuffing from the tail through an access zipper for easy cleaning.

Visual SatisfactionThe tail is a huge hit with everyone including myself! People love this tail! It's big and fluffy and huggable (just like the bodysuit). The shape of it is even and looks great. The markings/colors are symmetric and perfectly in line with the reference art. The fur feels great and is high quality. I asked for a floor-dragger tail and it does indeed drag on the floor. I get a lot of compliments about the look and feel (and again, hug-ability) of the tail. It's one of my favorite parts of the suit.

Feet

Wear SatisfactionI got interchangeable indoor slipper feet, and outdoor feet with shoes in them. Both fit well, including the shoes used to make the outdoor feet. The indoor feet are lined with comfortable athletic/stretch fabric. I can walk around in either without feeling like they're going to fall off, even when not attached to the body. The feet attach to the body with zippers and I don't have much trouble attaching them. There is stuffing in the indoor feet, which I can remove through zipper openings for washing. There are zippers for stuffing the outdoor feet as well, but I don't have any stuffing in them currently (they look good without). Both pairs are very durable and I haven't had any issues with the seams or the indoor paw pads/outdoor soles even after wearing them at a convention.

Visual SatisfactionBoth pairs of feet look great! They're perfectly symmetrical and well-proportioned with the larger body. They both look and feel very soft and the shaving is very good. The fur and sole materials used are great quality. The indoor feet use minky soles and look very nice and soft. The outdoor feet have rubber soles and the edges of the soles are lined with fleece (or similar), which makes the finish look clean and sturdy. There's dark lining between the toes for an extra toony look. No visual wear on either feet even after significant use.

Final CommentsOverall, I'm extremely happy with the commission experience, communication, and final product that I received working with CFStudios. The suit itself is fantastic from its construction to its look, and an absolute joy to wear. Camille and Aleks were friendly and professional throughout the process. They gave me regular updates, even while we were just waiting for fur to come in stock! There were lots of progress pics, and I was never in the dark about the process. The hand-off was handled very well. They taught me how to put on, take off, and handle my suit. They even let me model for a photo shoot! They sent me home with a booklet containing washing, storing, etc. instructions. They kept the communication line open after completion for any issues that came up at any time, which I appreciate very much.

I seriously can't recommend CFStudios enough. They get a humongous YES from me! Thank you CFStudios!
