Prior to my commission request, we had been friends for a while and gained a close-knit friendship. My fursuit was commissioned at a discount because of our relationship, which is extremely generous of Twisted Leopard Creations to take on my project and complete it at such a great level of expertise. Though more than a year from initial inquiry to completion date, I have no complaints and I am extremely grateful to know such a kind hearted, talented maker and friend.
She was very quick and professional to respond to any questions I had. Communication occurred exclusively on Telegram.
Though being worked on in between higher priority projects (which is understandable), from start to finish the head alone was completed in about a month. Her paws and tail were completed within a week and hand-delivered to me at a convention. Her head was delivered at a later time.
Zeno is extremely durable which I can determine from feel alone. Everything is sewn together and glued sturdily and seamlessly. Everything about her exceeded my expectations. She was built to last and I don't think I'll be needing any more fursuits of my character.
Zeno's head is the most comfortable fursuit I've ever worn, ever. She was built around the dimensions for my glasses to ensure a comfortable fit. Though this did increase the roominess a tad, the ability to see more than makes up for it. Being built from a balaclava, her liner fabric is extremely sweat-wicking and only takes a few moments in front of a fan to feel good as new and ready to wear again. I have no issues breathing efficiently through her, even with my nose and breathing problems. There is a slight blind spot, but it becomes very unnoticeable and the brain chooses to ignore it over time. It does not impair her range of vision and the quality of the mesh itself, both of which are immaculate. I am overjoyed at Twisted Leopard's ability to accommodate for me, and the finished product well exceeded my expectations!
I adore looking at her from every symmetrical angle. Each time I admire her, there is more attention to detail from the maker I discover. There are no visible seams or pulled fabric from ladder stitching. Everything is expertly sewn from the backing and attached sturdily for a seamless look (e.g. around the mouth and nose). Her bottom lip seam is covered with what appears to be an EVA foam tube, which gives it a realistic touch. I have never seen this done by another maker and is genius, this shows great dedication to her craft. Multiple high-quality fur lengths were used for the same color. Twisted Leopard ran me by every color and let me pick which fit the best. I wanted big emphasis on her mane, and she suggested the 4" pile length which was definitely the right call; her hair is extremely flowy and I am enthralled with the results! Every marking on her character sheet was transferred perfectly onto this head. She has an adorable smile with bright eyes which can turn to sassy with her velcro eyelids: topped off with faux fur lashes, a Twisted Leopard staple. All the fabrics used are extremely soft, including the shaved shaggy on her face. The shaving job itself is immaculate and impressive, especially around all her curves! The long cheek fluff fades into the short pile which has no visible patches or backing showing. She has plush thread sculpted teeth which are a huge upgrade I am extremely happy with from clay on my old Zeno head. Apart from the mane, her pickable nose is my favorite feature. Twisted Leopard wanted to make it as hyena-like as possible and the result is the best hyena nose I have ever seen. She is fully lined with no fabric backing or exposed foam as well. All in all, there are zero complaints. The quality of this head will last me until forever, and I don't see myself happier with any other.
They are lined with scuba neoprene, which is a slippery sweat-wicking fabric perfect for fursuit making. Sweaty or not, my hands are able to slip directly in without forcing them on. They take literal seconds in front of a fan when sweaty to completely dry. The wrist is cuffed and fits great around my arm, they stay on my hands are unable to slide off accidentally. The fingers are stuffed adequately and do not compress the fingers when worn. The paws are 100% machine sewn and the seams are extremely sturdy.
I know how torturous stretchy fabric is to sew for the claws, and I applaud Twisted Leopard for nailing (pun intended) this feat. The fingers are reference sheet accurate with the alternating black and white color scheme, done correctly on the right and left hands. Her minky paw pads are extremely soft as well as the beaver used for her fingers, and the pink shag which is shaved at the palms.
Her tail attaches via belt loop and is very easy to insert a belt. The seams are all sturdily machine sewn and have no chance of coming undone even with how bouncy it is.
ZIG ZAGGY!!!! Twisted Leopard once again NAILED the hyena look! Even overexaggerated it which I adore. Using monster length pile fur for this worked in creating a flowy accurate hyena tail. When walking, the tail is angled on my body perfectly so it bounces adorably. I can't wait to see how it will flow into my soon-to-be-made bodysuit!
