Overall

Initial ContactThe maker responded quickly through Instagram direct messages and gave me a fast quote.

Maker CommunicationThroughout the whole commission process, I only received two photos. One when the suit was just being started, and one when it was complete.

The maker never asked for my measurements or any allergies I may have.

The maker told me to budget $80 for shipping, which later turned out to cost $200

Project Completion TimeThe head took a total of of 6 months to complete, which is a little lengthy. I typically complete a head commission within 1 month, but I am aware every maker has different processes that may affect their completion time.

I was never given an estimate of how long the project would take.

Overall Project QualityOverall, I am a bit disappointed with the experience. But, of course, this head was on the less expensive side, being around $850 including shipping to America.

The main reason I am disappointed is that some people at random receive higher quality products from them, which are the suits they post online. Many, MANY people commission them, and their suits never get posted, as they don’t look as nice.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe head arrived with an inner circumference of 32in. When put on, the wearer’s eyes sat about two inches above the eyes of the suit.

The inside of the head was unlined with three blocks of foam randomly glued at the forehead, and the eye sockets of the suit had slightly sharp edges with no padding. The back of the head was made out of strips of EVA foam in a lattice structure.

Once I added some foam to make the head fit, the vision was quite good. Ventilation was also better than expected for a kemono suit.

Visual SatisfactionFrom a distance, the head is super cute. I was really excited when I opened the package, and when I got his final photos.

Once I began inspecting, though, I found most of the suit was glued together. Hair consisted of glued on strips of raw-backing fur, and the shave of the face was left a little long. The nose was unfortunately chipped upon opening the box, and was poorly attached.

The ears are very large, and the head looks a bit odd from angles that aren’t head on or from above. Eyes have a follow me effect, but unfortunately have a visible seam in the foam rim.

The hair clip was a poorly painted and unsealed piece of foam which was hot glued to the hair.

The maker did a good job including most details from the reference sheet, minus the ears which were very different.

Final CommentsI’ve seen a couple of people very happy with Zohar suits, but the majority of the people I have spoken to had the same experience that I did.

Please do NOT commission this maker if you do not have experience modifying fursuits. If you love the look of this maker’s suits and don’t mind putting in extra work when you receive your product, then by all means commission them!
