The maker is very easy to reach through their Etsy shop and responded to my initial query in good time. Maker CommunicationI contacted the maker through their Etsy store by messaging them, but they also have an Instagram page that I have since communicated with as well. They do seem to reply a bit faster on Etsy, though this is fair as it’s where they are directly making sales. They mostly – if not always – responded to my Etsy messages within about a day. After the commission was completed I also reached out to ask if I could have the names/links to the furs they used on my suit in case I go to another maker for other Partial pieces and they happily and swiftly provided them! Their communication was very professional but did not feel cold – they still came across as warm and friendly. My only nitpicks were that I was not provided with an ETA (though this did not end up being an issue due to the incredibly fast TAT), and that I was not provided with any WIP photos/updates, but again, given how fast the head was completed, I think that having to stop to send WIP photos would have just unnecessarily slowed down their process so I’m not bothered by it! Project Completion TimeI am still in absolute disbelief in how fast the head was completed; from paying for the head to the date it was shipped was only 17 DAYS. I had the head physically in my hands only 25 days after paying for it. For a fully-custom fursuit head, this is an OUTSTANDING turnaround time! I was not given any sort of ETA, which would have been an issue if the TAT turned out to be longer, but given the shockingly fast completion of the item, it’s really a non-issue! Overall Project QualityI cannot express how overjoyed I am with the final result of my fursuit head. Especially given the low prices from the maker, the head was made with exceptional quality and far exceeded my expectations. The look, the feel, the sturdiness – it’s all amazing! Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head is very comfortable and fits my head well without being too tight. The head and neck came fully lined which I wasn’t expecting, given that it was a relatively low price for a custom fursuit head, so that was a lovely surprise. The vision is pretty much as good as you can get with a fursuit head – obviously there’s the blind spots at the centre and edges of your vision, but you’ll get that with basically any fursuit head. But otherwise the vision is good, having only a tiny red tinge from the eyes’ colouring on the mesh. As far as ventilation goes, I’m satisfied. Obviously it’s a big foam and fur head so it’s going to be warm, but compared to friends’ heads that I’d worn previously, it feels about the same, if not maybe a bit better! The mouth is also big enough to easily fit a portable fursuit fan in as well, if you’d like an extra breeze. Visual SatisfactionI am absolutely floored with how well the head turned out. The markings are all accurate and the furs were colour-matched to the reference perfectly. As far as I can tell, the suit seems to be overall very symmetrical, with smooth/clean shaving on the fur. The fur used is also very high quality and feels lovely. The follow-me eyes look great – the mesh is painted and looks great, with the eye shine markings appearing very symmetrical too. The maker also remembered to include Blackjack’s unique pupil shapes and put each one on the correct side, which I appreciate as this is a feature that has often been missed when I’ve commissioned art of the character from various artists in the past. My only small issue would be that the black markings above the character’s eyes were meant to connect upwards to each end of the eyebrow, but instead they have more of an arc shape that only partially touches the eyebrows, but I think this is due to the maker’s style so I’m not really bothered about it. The only other thing of note is that the sewing in a few places makes the edges of some markings appear a little bit jagged – most notably on the diamond on the forehead. But it’s not hugely noticeable and the sewing still feels very sturdy and durable anyways! RatingFursuitReview rates by asking the question: Would you recommend this maker?
