Overall

Initial ContactI contacted the maker via email at first to ask a few questions regarding sending an inquiry. From there, having my questions answered thoroughly, I sent in a Google form via their website to begin the commission.

Maker CommunicationAl Fur was VERY communicative with ANY questions I had, no matter how simple of a question I had. Their prompt responses under a day really go beyond what one expects from customer service, and truly is something to applaud.
If Al Fur ever needed some clarification, they were patient to go in detail as to what they are inquiring about and overall were able to create a great relationship for the customer.

Project Completion TimeFor the full partial commission, I sent an inquiry on the start of April 2023 and received Squigly by the end of May 2023. For the fullsuit upgrade, I sent an inquiry on the start of November 2023 and received the full body at the start of February 2024. Al Fur provided a Trello to show their current commissions and thus were able to give accurate time estimates as to when they were able to work on and finish their projects.

Overall Project QualityGiven that this is my first commission of any sort of fursuit, my expectations were far exceeded! From the concise and prompt responses from the maker, to given in-progress photos of my suit being made, Al Fur really made themselves out to be a professional fursuit maker.

The quality of the suit and uniformity of every part truly makes for the suit to look like a professional project, one that has gotten compliments from many individuals. The durability is exceptional and I have yet to have ANY issues related to seams and construction. This, on top of not having to send a Duct-Tape-Dummy and (DTD) and instead simply give measurements for my suit and still get a well-fitted suit shows their expertise with making suits.

Given that Al Fur had experience with a myriad of species, I had no doubts they would be able to bring Squigly life. Al Fur brought Squigly to life and more, as they created a suit that allowed me to enjoy the furry fandom even more!

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe head is snug and secure once worn. While it may be difficult at first to put on, given that it is a kemono head, it feels secure and well-fitted once put on.

Inside of the head, which is resin 3D printed, is a small holder for a 40mm fan. Al Fur included a fan with the fursuit. There is a pocket on the neck area of head to put a battery bank that powers said fan. This helps with ventilation and receiving some air within the fursuit, which may help with the lack of airflow most kemono heads deal with. Thankfully, the domes and eyes of the fursuit head are removeable, and one can wear their fursuit head without the domes, allowing for more airflow to go through the head.

In regards to vision, I am able to see what is immediately in front of me, though it is difficult to make out details while wearing the head. Nonetheless, this is enough to get by and be aware of surroundings in front.

Visual SatisfactionHonestly, Al Fur stunned me with how well they brought Squigly to life!! When I had ask for Squigly's hair to be separate from their mane, Al Fur was able to comply with said request and bring about a result that really left me wonderfully surprised! The quality of the fur and materials used are top notch, and I have gotten several compliments from local fursuit makers and fursuiters in general about how well the craftsmanship in Squigly's suit in general is.

Hands

Wear SatisfactionThe handpaws are lined and are well form fitted to match with the arms. There is some padding so as to give the paws their fluffy shape, but does not feel like it adds heat while wearing them at all! Big plus for those who sweat easily. Despite my paws have 4 digits total, it still feels easy to grab things. I have worn them for quite a while now and not a single seam has popped thus far; amazing craftsmanship!!

Visual SatisfactionThe handpaws came out so lovely! I love the fur used between the base of the paw and the minky fur used for the claws! Overall, very satisfied with the look and construction!

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe Tail connects to one's body via a hidden belt loop, which essentially means you can wear the tail with your preferred belt of choice. The belt loop is very well made, seeing as I have worn my tail for around 50 hours with no seams popping at all. The tail is made similar to a stuffed animal, with the inside being stuffing; because of this, be sure to spot clean the tail whenever it gets dirty! Overall, wonderfully made!

Visual SatisfactionVisually speaking, the tail is made perfect to my height, and though it is tail stuffed with poly-fil, it is soft to hug and great to wear!

Feet

Wear SatisfactionSo, I have two feet for Squigly: Those that came with the full partial, and those that came with my fullsuit upgrade. I will explain the full partial footpaw first.

The partial footpaw are essentially a smaller footpaw using a slip-on shoe as a base. They are padded with fur on the outside and are both sewn and hot glued onto the shoe. Because of this, the construction is very sturdy and the durability has been exceptional. They are very comfortable to wear and still look like new despite wearing them for over 50 hours now.

The fullsuit footpaw are similarly made on a slip-on shoe as a base, but is padded around with foam to give it similar form to the digitigrade suit they attach to. The fullsuit footpaw is as equally comfortable to wear, and seamlessly connect to the fullsuit body via zipper. No issues so far wearing them!

Visual SatisfactionBoth footpaw sets are wonderfully made, getting a bunch of compliments for their construction and shape! The fur used is the same as the fur used for the fursuit, and thus feels very high quality and even. Overall, wonderfully made and capture the image of Squigly!
