Overall

Initial ContactI first know the name of StuffedTailsFursuit through a friend of mine. She opened the commission form and I firstly contacted her through Telegram for some clarification on some options of their form. The maker explains well which measurements are needed and how to properly make the DTD, she also link tutorials and is open for any request if case of doubts

Maker CommunicationThe maker has been really communicative and friendly through the entire commission process, from the opening of the quote's form to the end and pickup of the commission. We always talked informally on telegram, even if I didn't know her in the first place. She have guided me in the choice of colors by suggesting and showing me examples of other suits wearing the fur I was choosing. She was also really kind in explaining all differences between the various fur brands. She also was open in explaining me what she was doing on the suit and the various "maker's processes". Her responses were quick.

She sent many many WIPs during the whole commission process, constantly asking me for confirmations about the details of the suit. If something was odd or I wanted to try it in another way, StuffedTails was really chill with that, even after many requests and even if, at the end, we were end up using her firstly proposed solution.

She was also sincere in telling me that she never tried before a particular thing in my commission (sublimating a shape on my cape), and made me a discount for that reason

Project Completion TimeStuffedTails is incredibly fast and the waiting times are SO low. Her business model is to open commission and clearing the queue every 6 months, instead of having just one long queue of literal years. This is something I particularly appreciated. The queues are public on a Trello which StuffedTails constantly keep updated. I knew exactly how many people I had in front of me.

Speaking about actual completion time, my first quote for a partial (head + handpaws + arms) was accepted on the 12th of June 2022. On the 21st of September 2022 StuffedTails started working on my commission which was completely done by the 28th of September 2022. I requested the fursuit to be done for Furizon Riverside 2022, happening on the 14th of October 2022, so the deadline was perfectly met.

The quote for the body + feetpaws was accepted on the 19th of January 2023. The 1st of May 2023 StuffedTails begun working on my commission, which was finished by the 5th of May 2023. The deadline in this instance was Furizon Beyond, happening on the 30th of May 2023. The deadline was perfectly met again.

I picked up both commissions directly from the StuffedTailsFursuits' laboratory

Overall Project QualityI'm very satisfied of the whole suit. After almost 2 years is still perfect like the first day and I haven't noticed any major defect. I love how it is easy to wear, I love the fur color choice, I love the details and the different features it has. The head itself is really expressive just by its own. The different tongues, the different expressions, the posable ears, etc increase its expressivity even more. The suit has completely met any expectation I could have and it's definitely worth the price I paid for (StuffedTails is, in general, a really cheap maker compared to many others).

The fur used is top quality and consistent in every part of the suit, so it makes all the color consistent. The markings are also consistent from part to part. Brushing the whole suit is easy and makes it extra clean, specially because the shaving is very uniform. There's no gap both between hands and arms (if worn correctly) and between the head and the full body.
Inside the head there's a powerbank for the LEDs and fan inside. To hide it better I had to use a thin one.

I love the shape of the digi and my booty. I asked for a slim style and it came out incredibly well. The feet are easy to wear. In fact, everything is easy to wear. Zips around are well hidden. There's a lot of space in the head, so everyone can fit without problems. Inside there's a elastic band that lets you choose the perfect size for your head. If I have to find an adjective for my suit is "modular", since almost everything (soles, eyes, expressions, sizes, tuft, paddings etc) can be swapped and/or regulated. I am very happy that StuffedTails gives you this chance with their fursuits.

The suit is, in general, very comfortable to wear, the head is ventilated (also thanks to the fans inside) and I worn it in the past for many many hours without feeling tired at all.

The suit is really consistent with the maker's style and it looks even better than I expected

I'm also glad that StuffedTails offers the chance of "completing" a previously commissioned partial suit.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionThe head is very comfortable. It's easy to wear it alone, it has NO zip behind the neck you have to try to close up by yourself, but instead has an adjustable elastic band. During my head's lifecycle, I offered myself as a volunteer to try different methods for making the elastic band. The very first one was using simple velcro and a sort of "sock" around the band to stop the velcro from attaching itself to the suit's lining. After that one I switched to an experimental design that was using buttons to adjust the length, but it didn't work well (the buttons were taking off by themself if the elastic band was stretched in some directions), and now i'm on the final versions which uses some hooks and offers 3 different lengths.

The head inside is really "roomy", I had friends with really large heads wearing my suit without any kind of problems. I also have no problems *wearing* the glasses inside (but, since my glasses are big, they often fall off when I put my fursuit on or off). The lining inside is made out of neoprene and it's not removable. I know some people had problems with neoprene lining where it was losing some color, but mine does not. The lining works well in not letting my sweat reach the outside fur.

Speaking about ventilation, my head is really ventilated just by itself: it has two big holes on the cheeks, there's an hole on the ears' attachment too. The mouth is large, the nose is pickable and the snout is empty. This makes the suit really ventilated and comfortable to wear in most conditions. However I noticed that when dancing at conventions for a long time, moisture will eventually appear on my glasses. This was later fixed by my maker: she placed two fans inside the holes on the cheeks and another one in the nose. Now, with them on, I really feel like i'm not wearing a fursuit head at all, it's perfectly breathable. Sometimes I also have to turn the fan off if it's too cold outside, otherwise my face just becomes an iceberg hahahah

The vision is fine, the eyes are pretty big so the blind spot is not that much large. Since when I first got my head StuffedTails changed free of charge the eye's mesh two times. The reason behind this is that she was constantly finding better and better meshes that improved both the eye's sublimated print and the suiter's visibility. With the current mesh I have no problems in dark places, even if I have not-so-bright lights pointed directly at me

The head is a little heavy, but the main reason are the 4 things Lucarios have on the back of the head, and all the electronic (fans and eyes' LEDs) inside

To keep the head in place even more, there's a forehead padding inside the head, so the suit doesn't drift when shaking it hard

The "acoustic" is quite good, I can hear without problems people talking to me

Visual SatisfactionThe head looks really good. The symmetry is perfect and the shave is even in every single part of the head. The character design is matched, there are some particular markings (a scar on the eye) that is present also on the magnetic expressions. I particularly like thin snouts, so I asked for a fox foam base instead of a canid one to achieve that effect

The fur looks really soft while touching it and it's pretty easy to brush and get it clean. The backing is not visible anywhere.

I'm really in love of the base expression of the suit. It has 3d printed follow me eyes that looks good from any angle. I also have all possible expression the maker has ever made, but I mainly use the base expression because it's honestly really cute.

Originally the mesh for the eyes were printed "normally", but StuffedTails changed them for free, upgrading to a sublimated ones which is waterproof, alcohol-proof and has much more vivid colors.

The photos linked to this review still have the old mesh, you can see the comparison side by side here:

The ears are poseable: they can be folded and they remain in place until you move them again in position. This can help with achieving even more expressivity

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionThe body suit is really comfortable. Even if it's not baggy at all, it allows me to move freely without any kind of problem. I never had any seam popping so far.

Putting it on and off is really easy and can be done completely alone. The zip is easy to use and the fur doesn't go inside, so it's free to move. The feet are separable from the rest of the suit. They are joint using some zips which are kindish hard to attach when you're already wearing your suit. The solution is obvious and easy: attach them before wearing it 😀

There's no lining on the upper part of the body, however there's lining on the legs. The lining has some zips that can be open to easily remove the stuffing, so you can clean your suit in a washing machine. Even with no lining, I didn't had problems with sweat, however I must say that I ALWAYS use underarmour while wearing my bodysuit so my opinion there may be biased

Visual SatisfactionWhen properly brushed, the suit looks really clean. However, in the parts with long fur (like the legs) it's easy to get it messy during long fursuiting sessions. Nothing that a brush can't fix tho. The parts with short fur are almost always clean
The symmetry is perfect even there.

The zip to wear the suit is hidden inside the grey stripe on the chest, so it's completely invisible from the outside.

The fur is really soft, specially on the parts where the fur is long. There are no backing nor shaving problems.

I love how StuffedTails used differently the long and short fur, it enhances the details and gives a really cool effect

The digi that I asked for was a "slim digitigrade". To achieve this, some padding was used on the booty and legs, I think the shape came out exactly how I wanted it

Hands

Wear SatisfactionHands are really handy ( 😀 ) to wear, even if alone. They have five fingers, so it's pretty easy to interact with almost anything. I also have finger holes so I can take out my real finger to use keyboards and my phone. Wearing them alone with the bodysuit is not easy, mainly because alone I have difficulties in placing the hand's fur under bodysuit's arm.
My hands have resin claws, which never had problems like breaking, falling off or becoming yellowish. I tried fursuits from other makers in the past with resin/pla claws on their hands, and I noticed that some of them feel weird on top of your real finger. My handpaws DOES NOT have this kind of problem.

The paws are half lined (on the back of the hand) and I never had problems with sweat

Visual SatisfactionThe way how the short and long fur is used makes the hands really cool and clean. Even if there are holes for let the real finger come out, they are well hidden and you can't see your hand's skin from the outside.

As I already said, the claws are made out of resin. There are paw pads, made in minky with some stuffing inside. There's a bit of stuffing also on the finger itselfs, making them a bit larger then my real fingers.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail is a little bit heavy, but it was a request coming from me. The reason is that it is really full of stuffing to make it stay straight and don't go down. The tail's base is really rigid. It has an hole to put my belt inside. This is the way to both wear it when in partial and when I have my fullsuit on (the fullsuit has an hole for the tail on the back). It's really easy to put it on and it's comfortable to wear.

The tail has a really well hidden zip on the bottom side which can be used to remove all the stuffing and clean it in the washing machine.

My tail in particular has quite some led stripes inside. They can be removed by first removing all the stuffing and then turning the whole tail inside out. On the upper part of the tail there's another hidden zip that lets you access a pocket where I have two USB connections and a box which controls the LEDs. The USB connection must be plugged in two separate power banks to fully power the led stripes. The LEDs by default do a rainbow animation, but they can be controlled remotely (like in furcon's disco) by the StuffedLights protocol (that's still in a closed beta)

Visual SatisfactionThe tail is indeed symmetric and matches my design. The fur here is long and it's soft at touch. Brushing is easy, but I have to be careful not wearing backpacks otherwise it will melt the fur on the top side of the tail, near its base, making it difficult to brush that specific zone.

Zips are completely hidden under the fur.

I'm really happy with how it looks and I love the way it moves when I wag it. As I already said, it remains straight in position, so the wag wag is really cute :3

Feet

Wear SatisfactionThe feet are really lightweight and there's so much space in them that you don't really feel the heat. Inside there's an original crocs which are really comfortable to wear. By placing the crocs' "lock band" behind your feet, they don't fall off/slip at all. However this comes with the cost of making it hard-ish to remove the fursuit's feet, since you're stuck in the crocs. After a bit of try and errors, I found the technique to remove them and I'm fine with it.

I don't say the movement is the absolute best, since the feet are a little bit large and by walking normally they hit each other (so you have to open your legs just enough), but it's good anyway. If you start doing hyper-active things like running and jumping around, being dumb while walking and stuff like that, you don't really notice it at all.

The soles are interchangeable, I have a cute indoor version with pink stuffed beanies made in minky, which gets dirty really easily (so it's really just for indoor or photos), and an outdoor version made in eva, which actually has more grip on the ground than my real, trekking, shoes lol. The fur on the soles part is perfectly shaved so it covers them enough, but it doesn't get dirty by touching the ground. The two different soles are attached with quite some velcro. You need some strength to remove them, but they're pretty much solid and you won't lose them around.

I never had problem with seams, nor claws breaking/falling off.

Inside the feet there's a neoprene full lining. It completely absorb the sweat which has never reached the outside. To clean the feet I use a Bissel

As I already said, the feet are connected to the body with a zip, which is difficult to close while already wearing the full body, but it's quite easy if you join them before dressing up

Visual SatisfactionThe feet are perfectly symmetrical and they match the character design. Short fur is used and the effect in contrast with the long fur of the body is really cool. It's easy to brush and remains clean easily. The feet have plush claws which mostly faces the correct direction.

As I previously said, I have two different soles: One with blue fur and pink, stuffed, paw pads and the other, outdoor, one in EVA. This last one has the cool detail of still having the paw pads shape made entirely by eva

Special Features
LEDs in the tail
There are some removable led stripes in the tail that follows the stripe pattern of the fur. Inside the tail there's an accessible box with a controller and two USBs which can be used to power on everything. The led stripes by default do a rainbow animation, but can be remotely controlled through the StuffedLights protocol

LEDs in the eyes
There are LEDs in the eyes which are really well hidden: when they're turned off they're completely invisible. The LEDs are addressable and RGB, there's a button in the ear that lets you turn them on or off and lets you change the color of them. There's a pocket in the back of the neck which contains the controller and an USB you can use to power them on. The controller is removable by unplugging its cables. The LEDs can be remotely controlled through the StuffedLights protocol

Fan in the head
There are 3 fans inside my head: a small one in the nose and two big ones on the cheeks. With them the airflow is really perfect, I don't really feel wearing a fursuit head at all when they are on. The fans are really silent; even with them turned on I can hear with no major problems people talking to me. They can be controlled with the same button in the ear used for the LEDs (with a different click combination, everything is explained by StuffedTails when purchasing the suit) or remotely through the StuffedLights protocol

TPU Posable ears
The ears can be moved to gain even more expressivity to the whole face. They remain in place until you pose them in their original position. The first time I was using them they were hard-ish to move, but after a while they became more flexible. I can move them also while wearing my handpaws

Pickable nose
The nose is empty and the nostrils are "open". You can actually pick up your head through the nose hahah. The nose is well fixed in place, so I don't worry that it internally detaches from the rest of the head when I pick it up. This also helps with airflow.

Finger escapes
There are holes in the hand paws to let my real fingers out. I didn't had problems with them in terms of seams popping. The finger inside the handpaws are well hidden and no skin can be seen from the outside. The only thing is that, when putting the hands on, you have to place your real finger into the "correct hole", which can be sometimes difficult

Interchangeable magnetic expression
I have a bunch of different expressions which are easy to attach, since they're magnetic. They are made in a way that you cannot flip them or attach them in the wrong spot. The visibility in most of them is great (there are one with the eyes completely closed that blinds you by design hahaha) and the fur patter near my eyes is present on the expressions as well. With my handpaws on it's not really easy to take them off, because they're tiny and slip off my hands. The expressions are really solid and don't fall off even while shaking violently my head

Each part of the suit can be werable separatly
Feet, hands, tail, body, and head are all different pieces that can be attached or not together. This mean I can full partial without the need to buy them again

Interchangeable magnetic eyes' meshes
I own different irises I can easily exchange since they are magnetic. They're made in a way so that you can't get the direction of the iris wrong. I also have a eyes' mesh which is UV reactive with an hypno print on it. They don't fall off easily by wearing normally your head, but you have to be careful when transporting it around because, if something pokes them, they fall off (on the internal part of your head, so the chances of losing them are quite low)

Waterproof and *alcoholproof* eyes' meshes
The irises are both waterproof and alcoholproof (tested), this means that I don't have to worry about the print fading away, while cleaning and sanitizing the head after each use

Interchangeable tongue
I have two different tongues (one normal sized and one particularly long) which can be exchanged with a velcro inside the mouth. The tongue is well fixed in place, however I once had the velcro unsticking from the mouth's internals. StuffedTails fursuit offered the reparation for free and I know that now she attach it in another, more robust, method.

Magnet in the muzzle for the tongue
There's a magnet in the side of the muzzle which can be used to attach the tip of the long tongue, achieving a "licking the muzzle" expression. The long tongue can be also put inside the nostril for a dumb expression

Interchangeable magnetic hair tuft
The hair tuft is attached with a magnet. It can be used if you have multiple tufts of different colors, which I do NOT own, but it's fun exchanging tufts with my friends (Stuffed tails puts all magnets always on the same side, so expressions, tongues, eyes' meshes, hair tufts can be exchanged between different fursuits). It doesn't fall off even by shaking the head, but it's easy to wear and remove it with your hand, even if you are wearing paws.

NFC tag in the nose
There's a NFC tag inside the nose which can be fully programmed. I personally have written my twitter's link inside, so when people boop me with their phone they will go directly on my page. StuffedTails offers a tutorial where she explain how to program it for people who doesn't know. StuffedTails says that if for some reason I (or somebody elses) brick or burn the tag, the only solution is opening the whole nose to change it, an operation that it's not covered under warranty (I personally think it's ok)

Sublimated cape
I personally requested a cape with a giant symbol on it. The symbol was sublimated on it with different pages. The marks are not perfectly aligned, but you have to look it closely to notice it, so I'm fine with that

Pocket inside the head
There's a pocket inside the back of the neck of the head. As I previously said, it stores the battery pack and the controller for the electronic in the head, but it's actually quite large and can be also used to store, for example, the expressions. I find it really handy, specially when I travel around without brining the whole suit-case, but just the head in its bag

RatingFursuitReview rates by asking the question:
Would you recommend this maker?

YES This review has been marked with a positive rating.
This means the reviewer would recommend StuffedTailsFursuits.

Final CommentsI strongly advice people commissioning StuffedTailsFursuits. Beside the cheap prices, the overall quality of the fur she uses, the shaving, the shapes, the details are absolutely top quality. I love how there are TONS of features you can put on your suit and the fact that everything is modular, swappable and adjustable makes it the perfect suit for everyone.

The maker is really open for communications and constantly sends many WIPs. It guides you in making the choices and in clearing any doubt you may have during the commission phase. The completion time is pretty fast (About 1 week for a partial, and 2-3 weeks for a fullbody) and the queues are short (Expect your suit to be delivered in at most 6-8 months).
