I knew about Aussie awhile before commissioning the Cooper suit as she has done a lot of art for me before this & since. I heard about the fursuit opening thru' a twitter post she made. She's really easy to get in contact with on both Twitter & Discord, most of this commission took place over Discord tho'
Aussie's communication was fantastic! She got back to me quickly and kept giving consistent updates, I never felt like it was long between updates.
I'm very happy with how long it took! I originally thought it was gonna take around 4 months, but it got to me within 2 and a half.
Quality wise Cooper is amazing, he holds up and he looks adorable. This project has exceeded my expectations, I'm so happy with how he turns out and how well he's held up over the 14 months I've had him. Aussie gave consistent updates so I never felt out of the loop. She shared a lot of WIP photos which felt great to see him slowly come together.
Cooper's head is incredibly comfortable. It's not too lose nor too tight. Great vision, and great ventilation. I've been able to wear him for hours 3+ hours without issue. The only problem I've had is that it doesn't quite fit my glasses as it was meant to. My glasses press into my head too much to be comfortable, however I don't blame Aussie for this. I measured my head with my glasses on and I should've added a few extra centimeters to be sure, which I'll be sure to do the next time I commission a suit. Since I'm nearsighted, I can still wear and use the suit I just cant see that far. Aussie did her best to accommodate for my glasses, even adding a zipper on the back to make it easier to take him on and off. The glasses don't fog up either but I've never tried wearing Cooper with my glasses on long term. Overall I'm very happy with how Cooper's head turned out
I absolutely love how he looks. His fur is soft and fluffy. Cooper is accurate to his ref sheet, and adorable. The LED's that were used last a very long time and are quite bright.
The paws fit perfectly, they're very comfy. I am able to grab and pick things up with them on. They are both lined on the inside with slightly different colors so I can easily tell which hand each paw belongs to.
They both look and feel adorable, and they're both accurate to cooper's ref. The claws on both paws have held up great.
The tail is very comfortable to wear, its very easy to put on. I did buy a dedicated tactical belt for it too which also makes it very easy to take on & off. The tail has held up as it should perfectly. I love the way it feels when I wear it.
The tail looks perfect. It kinda bounces around as I walk which I love. Very easy & fun to wag around too!
Cooper has 4 LEDs, 2 in each ear piece, a red and a blue. In Cooper's concept art the ear pieces wrap behind Cooper's head, this was used in the fursuit to store the LEDs & the on/off switches for them. With the fursuit head off I can easily unzip the headband and change the colors. It is possible to do it with it on, altho' a pain as I can't see what I'm doing. In Cooper's lore, the blue light being on means his earpiece is working and he can hear, red implying he cannot so having his LEDs working on the suit is very important to me and both work and look fantastic, and they're bright too! Also if I turn both LEDs on at the same time it turns purple, which was unintended but pretty cool.
The LEDs are held up by a velcro strap, which makes it easy to take off whenever I need to deep clean him. Originally, they were held up by some adhesive that came with the velcro, but that eventually started falling off after ~8 months. Aussie was very quick to help me and recommended I use superglue to resit it and it hasn't been an issue since. I've included a before & after to show how much it's helped. It's been 5 months since and I haven't needed to resit it again yet.
This was Aussie's first time doing anything with LEDs and I think She did great
