I noticed the maker opening up for commissions on Twitter and inquired for a quotation through email. Details on required information was provided by the maker during that time.
This maker is pretty fast at responding and is very receptive to questions, usually responding within a few hours or a day upon request, though there may be a language barrier that might cause some confusion as they are primarily fluent in French. For the most part almost all of my questions were answered, with a few I assume were lost in translation but, was still clarifiable. I would say to be patient and use simpler terms with the maker if you can to help smooth the communication process. I had seen a few of their works through twitter primarily. I contacted him through email, and the rest of our conversation including details about payments was handled through telegram. I could tell the maker and their wife was making a well appreciated effort to be friendly. Updates were given at very reasonable time frames (every few weeks or so) and had significant progress so there was not much to worry about at all. Overall, I’m satisfied that there was a serious effort to be a mix of professional and considerate at the same time.
The suit was finished reasonably around the ETA as expected. In fact, the maker seems incredibly motivated to do things even quicker. Honestly they’ve been making suits at quite an astonishing rate. They’ve been open to talk about the progress on their other commissions as well which is quite nice to know and really adds to the hype of the plush army growing bigger. When it was complete and shipped out, it arrived about a day earlier than expected and was done through Canada Post transferred to USPS.
I’m very happy with this big, purple, fluffball. It makes for an amazing double threat of being a pillow and allowing you to become a pillow when fully stuffed. The whole appearance of the purple monster is also adorable to the point of catching many soft lovers eyes. The build quality is super close to what I would say is professional with forgivable shortcomings. There are some seams inside that do not look entirely well attached, but from performing in it, it holds on very well for most of them. The seams that have broken have also been small and minor and were easily repaired. The material is sourced from BigZfabric according the the maker. From what I can tell it’s standard good quality fabric. It doesn’t pop out to me as super top notch stuff, but it’s more than decent enough to hold up. As this suit’s stuffing is easily removable it is washable, so it should be able to last for quite a while with good care.
Was made large enough to fit many people’s head sizes. Has the side effect of being loose on most people including myself as I have a moderately sized 22.5 inch head, but is designed with that in mind as it has room to fit glasses as specified! The head is lined with some kind of stretch fabric. Air can be slightly stuffy while wearing but still mostly breathable through the mouth. There is possibility it could be better with a fan installed. Vision is all around good with some but not complete visibility on the sides.
Super fluffy and cute as shown in the pre-design concept! The shaving appears well done to emphasize the shape. Fur is quite good and easy to brush. It does take quite a while to maintain due to how big it actually is but that’s expected. The overall appearance I’m happy very with. I did request a change in the eyes that was mostly fulfilled. One part of the request to change the iris to another shade of red may have been omitted, however this is a minor nitpick and I do have access to materials that can allow me to make this modification in the future if I choose.
It feels exactly what you would expect a plushsuit to feel like. Soft, encompassing and comfy like your whole body is a pillow. Cuddling and hugging with the suit on becomes much more comforting for both parties. You can pad the suit using a combination of the provided denser foam padding and polyfil bought yourself. The harder foam can help maintain a much better shape but will add noticeable weight. For comfort, using all polyfil seems to be best. However this suit is made to fit multiple people’s sizes in mind. Ideally this suit seems to best fit people around 6 feet giving more of a massive monster appearance, but can still be worn by people as short as 5”5 with a more stubby looking appearance. I’m 5”7 myself, which is still a bit on the short side, which is still quite cute looking. The interior is a lining layer of fleece, and as this is a plushsuit, this does make it quite hot with really no way around it as anyone would expect. It would be best to wear sweat wicking clothing and cooling gear for certain in long suiting sessions. There are some construction marks on the inside but are not visible on the outside. Overall an amazing experience all around.
The wings do tilt more to the right slightly and has loosened threading occasionally needing reinforcement, but otherwise the suit is mostly symmetrical. The tail is a highlight being just plump enough to be noticeable and not much of an obstacle at the same time. The material on the belly is especially soft which is very nice being the sweet spot for hugs. The overall appearance is meant to be simple as it was in concept, but is still adorable all the same.
The requested attachable magnetic eyelids appearance wise are great and add a lot of character. Though for practical use it is difficult to keep these on as the strength of them is quite weak and can easily be shaken off. Wearing them can also cut off vision by quite a lot due to the mesh inside. For the hypno eyes, I would suggest in the future for those wanting to add these on to request to to remove the eyemesh as it can be redundant with the one already in the head, and to add stronger magnets so it is more suited for activity. Still for a simple add-on it’s very nice for funny photos and such scenarios.
