Prior ExperienceYes, this would be considered my second fursuit, an improvement of the first one that was made with simpler and traditional methods

Wear Time1 year

Informed Maker of IssuesI tried, but he always came up with an excuse or a delay, and was bothersome to wait two months to get an answer. All this began after he showed me the types of fabric he bought to make the head only.

Overall

Initial ContactAt first, when we talked about my project he was very polite, even offering me a discount for making a character of a new species. I finished paying earlier than the date we had stipulated and that's when things start to go wrong.

He requested me to send him a DTD, only for him to leave it untouched for 3 years in a corner of his house, when he resumed the project, he never asked me if my body measurements had changed at all, which actually had happened. I tried contacting him through his webpages, Facebook, Twitter and Trello, and he always took ages to reply or just didn't reply at all (I have screenshots as evidence to prove this). He always shifted from one page to another, making hard to get in touch with him. When people started demanding results, he desabled the comments on his webpage to keep people, even rom other countries, from seeing them

Maker CommunicationThe contact with the maker was one-sided and it depended entirely on me, to the point that if I didn't constantly messaged him he wouldn't reply and even if he replied, his answers about the progress on the project were very ambiguous. Our interaction consisted on me asking him to start working on the pending parts of the suit, then he'd reply 1 month later at least, ¡a single question!, even when I asked for a partial refund if he didn't do the other half of the suit, which he didn't want to, he would give me a new ETA and then he'd fail to deliver anyway, pushing the date of delivery even further while offering apologies and justifying himself with personal issues over and over during 4 years of the making process, so I ended up not believing any of what he would say. He put all the blame on his former coworker, which caused them to split up and yet he kept blaming him afterwards, building a bad reputation as a bad maker with nice looking works but terrible customer service after receiving the payments, many of which he still owes to this day.

This has been thr worst interaction I've had with a person, my project was supposed to be important and ambitious but it ended up being a headache.

Project Completion TimeI'M NOT SATISFIED WITH THE TIME IT TOOK TO MAKE.

We had stipulated that it would take one year to make when in reality it took 4 years. At first I didn't even know where on the list my project was, I didn't know it until a year later, when I found that many of his other customers were in the same situation as I was, many of them are still waiting to this date. None of what could have happened can justify the time this took to make, multiple ETAs were given and he failed to deliver on each one of them, repeating the process over and over.

He charged me for the shipment when we had agreed that he would deliver the suit in person so I didn't have to pay for it, but since he only finished half of the project, I had to pay for the rest of it to be shipped to me when he finally finished it and that wasn't cheap at all, I didn't want to use a cheap service that could lose my package. This should have never happened but I was so desperate to get all this over with that I decided to pay for it to be sent to me

Overall Project QualityI feel happy with my full suit, but only because I've been fixing all the defects and flaws it has inside and out. The built quality of this suit is bad inside, it doesn't have any lining or protection, the materials are constantly detaching from each other, he switched from the materials I requested to some others with worse quality, the backlit eyes failed, the cooling system is improvised and doesn't achieve its goal, the durability is questionable after the time I've been using it, popped stitches, poorly glued materials, specially in the ears, which by the way, has the backing exposed. The electric wiring is exposed to the environment, making it unsafe to use under the rain. The nose is starting to show signs of wear, the suit doesn't have any protection against sweat, the moving jaw didn't work at all, the suit is eye catching but only because of the materials used to make it.

I'd rate this as a product with average quality, I'd give it a better score if it wasn't because it took 4 years to make when in reality it shouldn't have taken more than just 1. 3 of those 4 years were due to a hiatus in which the maker would only give excuses or wouldn't respond at all. During this time I could see him doing anything but my suit. I don't think that the price I paid for it compensates all the downsides this work has. I'd like to point out that thus wasn't the only project he had at the time and he still treated all of his customers the same way.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionAre you satisfied with how it fits you? I'm not entirely satisfied, the head has a hard hat inside which detaches itself from the head and causes it to be loose.

Does anything poke you, stab you, or make it uncomfortable to wear? Nothing stabs me but the chin piece is not well designed, for that reason the movable jaw is totally useless.

If it is lined, what material was used? It isn't lined, the interior is padded with eva foam, the foam is glued with industrial adhesive.

Does it absorb sweat appropriately? It doesn't absorb sweat appropriately due to the materials used, I have to use a balaclava mask or take the head off frequently to keep the sweat from accumulating, which by the way, cause the LED wiring to fail after only 5 times of using it and now it doesn't work.

Does it make cleaning easier? Is not easy to clean at all, the materials won't allow water to be absorbed, so I have to use a wet rag inside and out, the head keeps penetrating odors when wet, cleaning it with the wet rag takes an entire day and I have to keep it in an open space so it doesn't keep odors after drying up

How is the ventilation? The head has a cooling system which consists of a computer fan, if it isn't activated, the head heats up quickly because of the eva foam used for the interior.

Can you breathe well? Breathing in it is not hard as long as nothing is obstructing the snout.

Is the mask stuffy? Does the air circulate through your head? If the snout is obstructed the air won't circulate, creating a hot space inside.

How is the vision? The vision is very good

Can you see well in front of you? Is there a large blind spot? There are no blind spots

Do you have to turn your head to see? (Note: most suits do not have peripheral vision.) I must turn my head to see and focus but is not a problem.

Visual SatisfactionI'm mildly satisfied with the work done. Having paid for a movable jaw that doesn't work means I didn't get the quality I was promised. The head looks good on the outside but the interior is full of problems, the LEDs don't work and they can't be fixed because the wiring is glued between the fabric and the hard hat, trying to fix it would mean destroying the interior of the head and having to redo it, it's better and easier to just leave it as it is but it also means that the LED eyes I paid for are completely useless. The overall quality is average, the downside are the useless LED eyes and the moving jaw, while the goods of it are on the exterior, it's visually good.

The symmetry of the eyes looks good and it's correct in accordance to the head and the visual ref I gave him.

Is the shaving even? The shaving is even and smooth.

Is it choppy? Can you see the backing? Unfortunately, there are bits in which the backing is exposed and visible, the fur doesn't cover it and in some parts even the glue can be seen, specially in the ears.

Is the transition between fur types and/or lengths what you were looking for? The transition between colors is good.

The head can be brushed without problems as long as you don't brush over the exposed backing. The expression is very nice, it looks cute and friendly, the eyes are supposed to be "follow me eyes" but the result is not so well done.

I'd like to emphasize that even when I got the head within the promised ETA, it came with all the issues I've mentioned before. I also got the handpaws and tail within the stipulated ETA. The rest of the suit, the body, sleeves and feetpaws took 3 more years to be completed.

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionI'm moderately satisfied with the body, it's very comfortable to wear, the fabric used for the body is the same that was used for the head, it allows for moderate movement with a few restrictions, I'm afraid of breaking it or causing the seams to pop, but it feels relatively stretchy. The quality of the material ordered by the maker is very good but he didn't get enough of it and ended up adding another type of material with different quality to get the job done, so the end result was made with excellent to poor quality materials. He argued that he didn't buy enough fabric, despite me having paid for him to buy all the materials needed, and since he took 3 years to make the body, he also argued that the material he had ordered years prior was no longer available, so taking a closer look at the materials is noticeable that the quality and colors of the materials vary from one to another. The body doesn't have an inner lining to protect the fabric, the seams seem to be resistant but without an inner lining they won't last long, the constant sweating will eventually deteriorate the bodysuit if I don't clean it constantly and due to the variety of qualities of the fabric it's hard to wash it, I must be very careful with each type of fabric to keep the bad quality one from deteriorating rapidly

Visual SatisfactionThe suit is very cute and the bright colors of the fur are eye catching, on the other side, the shades of black look different from each other and in some cases the bad quality of some patches is very evident, the worst quality fur is the one used for the shoulders, is not even a type of fabric but some kind of car cushion stuffing and it looks way too different from the other materials, clashing totally with the other materials once you see the suit as a whole. The patterns are symmetric and look good, the shaving is even and soft to touch, if I take good care of it it should last long but without the inner lining, the sweat will eventually wear the fabric internally, also, without the lining, the body suit is itchy to wear but this can be solved using appropriate underwear.

It took 3 years for this work to be fully worked on and once it was started on, took 4 more months to finish, not because of the complexity of the project but due to the constant excuses given by the maker, not wanting to work on it and promising to finish it within a month, he took practically 3 weeks to complete the bodysuit.

Hands

Wear SatisfactionThe handpaws are very comfortable and look good according to the design, they have the perfect measurements to feel comfortable while wearing them, the material has the same quality as the one used for the head since both, the head and the hands, were made at the same time, the movement is excellent and they stretch comfortably, even when doing abrupt movements, the only downside is the bad quality of the seams of the claws, they are unstitching after a short time of using them, and not even due to extreme situations.

Visual SatisfactionThey are beautiful, the design looks good and they are symmetric, there's no problem with them besides the claw unpicking, quite satisfied.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail is the better made piece of the suit, it was made with the help of my maker's former partner and they came up with an ingenious inner spring system that keeps it in a certain position so it doesn't get on the way of anything, is not uncomfortable to use in any way and it's always lifted and in the same position, the fabric is excellent and the way of putting it is very comfortable, I'd say that I'm super satisfied with the result, including the shaving and with how easy it is to brush, as well as with how it merges with the rest of the body, it's hard to tell that they are two separate pieces.

Visual SatisfactionTotally satisfied, it keeps the look I wanted without it feeling feeling heavy, it's almost unnoticeable to wear it and doesn't look out of place when wearing the full or half suit, the symmetry is perfect, the shaving is very nice, it's very soft to touch.

Feet

Wear SatisfactionThe feetpaws are very comfortable and I'm very satisfied with them, they are big enough and don't need to have any footwear attached to them, they have a soft lining on the inside which allows for a better grip on the foot, they feel a little loose because of their size but they merge well with the rest of the bodysuit, making them to look like a single piece, the claws are made of the same kind of fabric used to make the head so the quality is very good, they look bright, the soles of the feetpaws is made of rubber, it allows me to use them on the exterior but is not tick enough to withstand a long walk, they feel better to wear in interiors.

Visual SatisfactionThey are very cute and I'm very satisfied with the result, they are visually symmetric compared to the other, it's also easy to differentiate and distinguish as to which is which due to their shape, they are beautiful to see and touch, perfectly shaved and without any visual flaws so far.

Special FeaturesIt has a system of LEDs to make the eyes to glow in the dark but it only worked 5 times before failing, the wiring wasn't well isolated and was exposed to sweating. In addition to that, the battery was exposed to the outside since it was placed inside of the ear, partially hidden, the wiring was placed between the fabric and the helmet, it's impossible to fix it without destroying the entire head.

Comments

  1. It is sad to see even many years later they still have not improved their customer service or quality of work.

It seems this studio consistently makes people wait unreasonable amounts of time.
