i got my quote pretty fast and paid the first half of the payment within some weeks of the initial contact.
the makers communication is VERY bad. we communicated through telegram. i had to wait weeks for answers and contacted her personally and through her assistant
i ordered the suit in november 2023 with the intention to have it in time for EF 2024 in september. shkaff initially agreed to this timeframe. in july 2024 after not hearing back from them i contacted them asking about my commission since time got close to EF. i got excused with them being delayed and them telling me they did not yet received the furs (i thought they ordered the furs themselves at this time), initially i told them it's fine that the suit won't be finished until EF due to them being honest with me so i thought… the following september 2024 they told me that they are not able to buy the furs themselves. I thought they where waiting for the furs to arrive not that they didn't even bought the furs yet. we figured out that me ordering the furs and sending them to them was the only option we had. so i ordered the furs. thy officially started working on my suit in march 2025 and completed it around july. so i waited almost 2 years even though the suit should have been finished in slightly over half a year after purchase.
my suit took them so long because they had personal issues and did not stay true to their queue line. in beginning of december they finished the suit of the person that was on top of their queue and my commission came after theirs so i was second in queue. instead of working on my commission/ staying true to their queue, they made a 3/4 suit for a different person in queue, a premade head, and two other peoples partials that where in queue while they made my suit. so they kept me waiting unnecessarily longer than it needed to be.
i'm very disappointed with the fullsuit i received, i cried my eyes out about the fact with how badly this suit was made.
i did not receive detailed WIP pictures while the suit was being made. i only received a picture of one sewn face marking of the head and after this picture the head was almost finished, one picture where the maker was drawing on markings on the DTD not really showing much because i was only able to see the side profile, after this picture i did not receive any more WIP pictures and then the bodysuit was almost finished. that's when i noticed they used the wrong short fur. they offered to replace the fur on the back and tail to a longer one but that's all that was done. i told them that i'm not happy with how the suit looks and that so many things where done wrong on it. i was excused by them saying ''oh i didn't know this was important to you, sorry''
the suit is WAY too uncomfortable to wear, too many mistakes in the build quality
To me this fullsuit wasn't worth what i payed, i remade the head myself and i'm going to make a new bodysuit as well very soon.
The makers style is not consistent, to me it felt like they rushed it and tbh it is the worst looking suit they made after a while.
I'm not satisfied with the fit of the head, i was never asked about head measurements. The head straps don't hold up anything and the head just slips around. the chin is wresting on bare backing of the neck fur, despite the head mostly being lined (lycra and trikot fabric). Ventilation was OK, enough airflow through eyes and mouth. The vision is very bad, i have a large blind spot in the middle and can only see with one eye at a time due to the grumpy brows hiding most of the vision in front.
everything wrong with the head:
The nose wasn't done up to Shkaff's standard, normally they makes very nice and very detailed noses but on my head they did not make it as detailed. The nose does not represent the typical hyena nose shapes and doesn't have a middle seam like Shkaff does with every other suit they made so far. This detail was very important to me since the nose on a hyena fursuit normally gives away that the character is supposed to be a hyena, it also was shown on all my references i gave to the maker; one of the molar fell off fresh out of the box; one of the canines is crocked; the eyeblanks where dirty out of the box, i'm not sure if it is in the plastic itself or just on the outside either way i can't get it off; the eyemesh is buldging out of the blanks on both sides; the mohawk doesn't look like on the reference at all, it's very small; the ears are not hyena shape; shkaff used a wrong short black fur that does not look like high quality on the whole suit (everything that is short and i was not informed about it); the fabric on ears, mouth, paws and feetpaws is not high quality, on the ears it looks like the fabric is dirty or glue seeped through it; on the ears are visible seams and a lot of folds; shkaff forgot to add cheekfluff so they added it after the head was already finished with latter stitching i think; the head has folds in the fur on the side towards the ears, the shaving overall on the head looks messy and markings did not get a cleaned/look choppy; the head straps are just glued everywhere and are already falling apart (other people already had this issue as well); the fur along the zipper wasn't picked out of the seams making the seam very visable.

i'm extremely disappointed about the outcome of the head, so much so that i made a completely new one myself.
The body is way too tight to the point that the zipper is under so much pressure that it forms waves on the belly area; the built in shoes are too small and it's very uncomfortable to walk around in it after an hour already; the zipper kept opening by itself; i was barely able to close the zipper, while trying to close the zipper some seams popped and i had to sew them close; the zipper was sewn in upside down and the hard plastic part that is supposed to be on the bottom kept poking into my neck; once i had to sit down for a quick break the seam attaching the tail to the body popped open; the whole bodysuit was sewn by hand and no seam allowance was left (no chance of adjusting the body to make it fit more comfortable at all); the bodysuit came with stuffed leg pants (only pro point about the body) they are easy to wash
The green chest marking is shifted along the zipper; initially they made the markings on the back of the body with the wrong fur length and had to replace it with the correct fur length; the shaving is not even at all, the leg stripes are VERY choppy and shoudn't have been shave in the first place; the transitions on the whole body look very bad from short to longer fur; the markings that are made with shorter fur disappear under the longer furs making the markings look off and choppy
The zipper was sewn in so poorly and is showing through the fur at an very unfortunate place making it look like the character has a camel toe or worse people think it is a NSFW suit but it's not! the zipper is unnecessarily long going from the neck all the way down between the legs (i don't understand why this was made this way) if it wasn't this long the issue above wouldn't exist at the first place.
i had to buy furs for shkaff to use for my suit because they where not able to purchase the correct colors for my character. i sent her all colors besides the black ones because those are pretty much available everywhere. I also told them where short and where long furs are meant to be on the suit with a fur length reference. Despite sending them furs and giving them a fur reference they still used a wrong short fur on the whole fullsuit and didn't notify me before on what furs they are going to use for the suit. Due to this pretty much all markings where short fur was meant to be look awful especially on the leg stripes, they also shaved the green fur down on the legs and left it extremely choppy. The weird short black plush bunny fur that was used is a type of fur that is extremely fragile and frays around the edges, due to this i'm not able to replace the choppy green fur. and replacing the low quality bunny fur would mean to open up 50% of all the seams on the bodysuit which would be WAY too much work. if shkaff would have told me that they don't have the fitting black fur i would 100% sent them the correct fur without any hesitations!
paws got sewn together with switched up fingers, i was able to wear them but due to the switched up fingers they felt weird.
one of handpaws had switched up fingers and due to using low quality materials the pawpads look very bad, they got outlined with a poorly made zigzag stitching which resulted the fabric to get very wavy. again wrong low quality fur was used on the fingers
i asked for replacement and i'm still waiting for the new paws to arrive. i will review the new ones properly . (i again had to send them my self purchased furs and fabrics for the paws)
built in shoes are too small, it made it very uncomfortable to wear after only an hour into suiting
again low quality black fur was used on the feet, i like the shape of them and that the pawpads are showing but the low quality fur ruins it for me personally; overall construction of the feet is OK but sadly there is already glue coming off because the low quality fur has a very slick backing separating the fur from the foam of the feet
zipper at the lower part of the feet, not sure what this is meant for/ i'm not using it for what the maker intended it to be? the zipper clothes towards the bottom making the zipper head scratch on the floor so i had to slightly pull the zipper up.
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer would NOT recommend Shkaff unless they significantly change their practices.
-very bad communication (being left in the dark for weeks without any notice)
– no wip pictures while in process of making the suit resulting in them making a lot wrong on your commission
– not staying true to their queue and not telling anyone why they do this
– being very inconsistent in their style and quality (my suit was meant to be a hyena and it didn't look at all like one, they made a hyena suit that looked like a hyena right after mine)
– not being able to ask for your money back due to them being in russia (you can send money but they can't send it back to you)
– they ignore your initial wishes you have about your suit (like special features, i asked for cheek fluff and they forgot about it even tho it's on the refsheet)
– they work how they feel without letting you know (use wrong materials and think it's ok for you)
– once the suit is finished there is not much they can change if something was done wrong especially on the head the excuse i got was ' i didn't think this was important to you' and that they are sorry about it
– i told them to send back my DTD once they are finished but they thrown it away
i'm just very disappointed with this maker, i already made a new head and i'm going to make a new bodysuit since the one i received is too uncomfortable to wear and too much was done wrong on it.
i asked other commissioners and they ALL had the same issues like i had.
if you still want to commission this maker be aware of these issues.
