Initially the maker posted that they have a cat and a dog pre-made in production. I replied to their instagram story asking if they are open to a preclaim on either suit. They took about a week to respond to me then communication was moved to telegram.
At first they responded quickly and sent me updates. That didn’t last long and over the next few months there was absolutely no contact unless i was initiating it, even then it would sometimes take days for them to reply despite being online, posting on social media, and even leaving my messages on read. They did always get back to me at some point even if i had to double message them.
They originally were very friendly and pleasant to work with but as ETAs passed and i had to ask for updates they would always tell me something IRL was going on and i need to be patient. There were many insistences of them telling me one thing and contradicting themself later. An example being at one point they told me the head and tail were finished but not the paws then a month or so later they told me just the head is finished and no paws or tail.
I was told my purchase came with the partial fursuit, a badge, and a reference sheet. When i asked about the badge and reference sheet I was told the badge is a "gift" for the past ETAs and a reference sheet was never included but "to be nice" they will draw one for me. When i showed them that they in fact told me those art pieces were included with purchase they said their friend was supposed to draw it but again "to be nice" they will do it. It all felt very manipulative and came across condescending to be talked to like that. To this day i never received any art and at this point i do not want it. They always had some excuse for why they couldn't finish what was owed but continued to pump out personal and gift art.
When i bought this partial i was told it would be available for MFF delivery, i was not attending MFF so i couldn’t pick it up in person. I was still under the impression that means the suit will be completed by December 1st (1st day of mff) at the latest. I paid in full for the suit October 2nd and was told the suit would be finished "maybe this week." A little over a month later the head was complete and i was told the suit will be shipped the 3rd week of November. A week later they asked me if its okay if they send it to me in April of 2023 after their vacation as only the head and tail are done. I said i wasn’t comfortable waiting that long and if i was told that up front i wouldn’t have bought the suit at all. They told me they would finish it before leaving for vacation. November 25th they asked again to send it in April because the tail and paws aren’t done, contradicting what was said before. Three days later everything is finished but they cant ship it as they need to go on vacation so they gave it to a friend to ship "this week" 3 weeks go by and still nothing and i have not seen pictures of anything but the head completed. At this point I said i just want to back out of the purchase entirely because I’ve been lied to, multiple ETAs that the maker set have passed, and i have to fight just to get the suit shipped. As soon as I said that suddenly the suit is being shipped today and they sent me a video of the friend packing it.
I received the suit but none of the art that was part of the purchase. Every time i asked for an update of any kind it was always something new going on IRL for why she cant complete any of it. New clients were prioritized over me despite paying 6 months ago. When i asked for a refund for missing art i was told i agreed to her terms of service when i made the purchase and no refunds would be given. I was never sent or told about any kind of TOS at any point.
Overall the suit is pretty good quality, however, I do not believe it is worth the amount of money i had to pay. I’m satisfied with the suit quality and style of this maker and for that i would recommend buying their work second hand. The lining is nice and the head is comfortable to wear. I’m also very lucky the suit arrived to me without major damage. The paws and tail were packed together in a plastic shipping bag with holes in it while the head was tossed on top. There wasn’t a single layer of protection on the head or anything to fill the space in the box. One of the ears was bent up on opening but it returned to its original shape after a bit out of the box. The box was pretty big for the contents so there was a lot of open space for it to be tossed around and if it had gotten wet at any point the head at least would have likely been ruined.
The head fits pretty well, vision and ventilation are excellent. I had to add my own foam padding to make it fit properly as it was a bit big on me. Its lined and easy to clean. My peripheral is pretty limited but that’s kind of a thing with most if not all suits.
The symmetry is a little off for the dark blue markings but as its hand made i don't expect 100% perfection. Some of the shaving is choppy here and there but luckily no bald spots. The fur is very high quality and soft.
The hair doesn’t look bad but it is glued directly to the top of the head so if you lift up on it there’s a lot of dried glue that didn’t quite stick. I feel like this was the maker rushing a bit and didn’t take the time to sew it down.
I am not sure if these hands were actually made by the maker or not. They claim they made them but they do not look like the makers normal paw style and they have a tag for "Screaming Yaca Fursuits" I am only including them in the review because i was told they were made by dracanimaker.
The hands do not fit me very well, they’re quite large and i had to stuff them with polyfil to make them fit and not be as flat. They aren’t lined but they have a cuff. I can get them on and off easily.
The paws are symmetrical and well made, before i put polyfil in them they were very flat. Overall they are nice though.
The tail sits well but its very stiff. Its made with a foam core and the loop for the belt is glued down. The tail also arrived to me with a very large hole on the tip. Much like the hair on the head i think this is due to the maker rushing. It wasn’t a hard fix but it was frustrating that i have to fix something that should be brand new.
The tail looks nice and the fur is very high quality. I wish it was softer inside and maybe a little bigger.
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer would NOT recommend DracaniMaker unless they significantly change their practices.
