Hands and Feet

How satisfied are you with the fit of the hands and feet?
They fit amazingly. Dex requires a foot DTD so they are made to fit perfectly. They also have a bit of elastic in the ankle to keep them from falling off.

How satisfied are you with the quality of the hands and feet?
Not at all satisfied. When I received the paws, they had A LOT of holes right out of the package. The fleece ankle cuff was shoddily sewn on and in some parts was only sewn to the fur, not the backing, so the cuff was pulling away. The black fur was mostly sewn with light pink thread, which showed. There were holes between the toes and between the top and bottom part of the foot. The bottom part of the toes was just glued on, not sewn, so some holes formed there also. The internal ankle elastic was sewn on about half an inch lower on one foot than the other. I had to spend the day refurbishing the paws, sewing all the holes closed, moving the ankle elastic and completely removing the ankle cuff and redoing it myself, along with adding about another inch of fur to the ankle. On a more positive note, the shaving is nice and the toes themselves are very symmetrical.

How satisfied are you with how closely the suit matched the concept art?
It matches almost perfectly. The claws are a little darker than my ref but that could be a slight error on DVC’s side; I know they can’t get 100% perfect. The first pair of claws they ordered were a soft rose color, not in any way a hot pink but they offered to order a new set. I provided a hex color code to try to get as close to the ref as possible. The pawpad vinyl looked a little darker in the emails than I was looking for but turned out to be perfect when seen in person.

How satisfied are you with the consistency of your suit to the makers style?
Visually, they look just like the other sockpaws in their gallery.

How satisfied are you with the overall quality?
As mentioned above, there were A LOT of holes. The quality of the toe sewing and the cuff was awful. Having sewing experience myself, I was easily able to fix all the problems but I was surprised they were mailed to me in the condition they were in.

Here is a photo album of all the holes: imgur.com/a/DyrMg

How satisfied are you with how well everything fits together and matches up?
The markings are fairly simple and were done very well.

How satisfied are you with how easy it was to initially contact the maker for a quote?
They were really easy to contact.

How satisfied are you with the response time from the maker?
Response time was pretty good. They provided me with weekly updates and let me know whenever they ordered materials for my commission, along with providing pictures of the materials. The communication was wonderful.

How satisfied are you with the level of professionalism and friendliness of the maker?
They were really great to work with. The maker is very friendly and appears to genuinely care about their commissioners. I was a little worried when they ordered claws that didn’t match my ref at all, but that was quickly resolved.

How satisfied are you with how the deadline was met for completion of your project?
N/A, there was no deadline. The commission was still done fairly quickly though!

How satisfied are you with the overall quality of your project?
Unfortunately, this is the only part of the commission I was unhappy with. Luckily I could fix everything up.

How satisfied are you with the overall customer service with the maker?
My personal experience with the maker was really great, they were super friendly.

Final Comments
I think I would recommend this maker with reservations. It really was a painless commission process but the quality of the product at the end threw me off. I was so excited to receive them but was really upset by the quality once I opened the package. I emailed them with photos of the problems and they responded with “I do apologize for missing some areas. The top part also gave me a little bit of trouble. You just need to hand sew the smaller areas.” which kind of had me concerned. It was an easy fix for me but I worry about their commissioners with no sewing experience. Having done commissions myself, if I was having trouble with a product, I would keep working on it until it was perfect, not just chalk it up as a loss and send it out. I actually realized that the fleece cuff is not visible in Dex’s pictures of the finished product. Overall I am happy to have these sockpaws but for the money I paid, they should not have had as many flaws as they did.
