Easy as I met them at a convention and we spoke in person. They do have a group update channel as well. However again I was not prioritized at all as I did not "pay" in the traditional sense.
As we became what I thought was friends and friendly. Chating was always easy. I helped at her convention booths a few times even. Despite being talked down to a few times for not doing things exactly as she wanted. She coukd be very sweet but condescending at the same time.
I was not satisfied that I completed my half of the trade so quickly and attentively. Asking for feedback and quickly making changes and was not afforded the same respect. I finished my half within 2 months and delivered within 4.
They however took nearly a year and a few times of bugging them to work on it. I always felt like a nuisance asking for updates and made me feel like I didnt deserve any progress.
I was not given any time frames at all.
Overall the construction is solid. The seams strong as all hell. I did end up making edits to the head including redoing the bottom jaw, ears and cheeks. Wich was a pain as the construction was fantastic. I just wish I had gotten more wips and more communication.
The few things is did ask to be fixed where slightly changed but again not as I had fully asked such as the eye liners and ears. As I had previously stated I did not like the ears and they where changed slightly but not fully.
I informed the maker I was going to make the changes and how I was going ti make the changes. At the time she seemed okay with it. Since then she has brought it up in anger that I made these changes and very clearly and angrily has "yelled" *you could tell it was voice to text angry* put me down un her public update group upfront of others. Wich was not at all professional nor nice. I left the group chat very quickly after that.
The head is incredibly comfortable and good ventalation. It has great vision with sub dyed eyes
I was not at all happy with how the ears, cheek fluff or horns turned out. She was also missing her hair. Her lower jaw also had a serious underbite.
The fur choices made where not what I had originally asked for, but I did end up liking the outcome of the diffrent furs used.
I only received 2 or 3 wips as my project was pushed to the back burner a few times as the maker prioritized paid work before mine. I got to see it in person halfway through the process at a convention in april od 2025 when most of the face fur had been sewn and the base mostly ready. When mff 2025 came around in December I asked the maker again if she could be ready for then so I could pick it up in person. She was still working on it as of nov 14th. I did not get finished photos before delivery in person at mff.
Nova typically has removable hair and horns with magnets.
The maker used washers instead of magnets and they did not hold well at all. She also did not include her hair at all.
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer MIGHT recommend Crafty Critter Cabin depending on circumstances that have been clarified in this review.
I thought of this maker as a friend and always tried to help where I could. But despite that was not afforded the same.
I have actually recommended this maker to friends and while working at her booth for MFF 2025 I was very vocal about how amazing her work is and trying to get her pre-made sold.
Her realistic heads are stunning and her toony has great personality.
