Contact was simple and easy. Quotes were opened and advertised both via email newsletter and social media (Bluesky), and from there I was able to go to their website and submit a quote form. I received a response shortly afterwards and was informed I would be told whether or not I made it into the queue within a few weeks. I heard back a couple weeks later and was informed I was picked, and then provided my measurements as well as any other things they needed from me.
Communication with LobitoWorks was very good throughout the duration of the project. They provided me with a Trello page that could be used to track the progress of my suit, as well as other suits in their queue, so I was never left wondering about the status of the project. Once the project began, they were in communication with me every step of the way, sending me regular WIP images and giving me the ability to make comments and request corrections if needed. It made me feel very included in the process and I never felt like I was in the dark about anything.
The project was initially commissioned July 2024, and completed April 2025, which was the expected deadline and even faster than I was expecting. I requested a soft, tentative (only if possible because I hadn't requested it in my initial quote form) deadline of May since I was considering AWA at the time, and while I wasn't expecting this to be adhered to, they were able to finish it well before then. Given the high quality of this suit, the speed with which they completed it over the month and some change it was being worked on was very impressive.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with the result of the suit that I commissioned. I'd held off in doing so for years because I was either not in the position to do so financially, or I wanted to make sure I found a maker that would suit my needs (oftentimes both), and this maker exceeded expectations. It still feels unreal having my Fursona in my hands. If I ever do commission another suit in the future, I would absolutely want to work with them again on another project. It was more than worth the price paid for the commission. I knew I wanted someone who did more toony-style suits well to make my Fursona, and LobitoWorks was an excellent choice for this.
The head is extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear. It has excellent ventilation with an open mouth and extra ventilation holes in the base of each ear. It's fully lined, and there's enough room inside to wear glasses (this was discussed with the maker who worked with me and accommodated this), yet it fits snugly when worn due to the head having a zipper on the back. This makes a huge difference in ease of wear. The vision is excellent as well. It can get a little warm inside when worn for extended periods but this isn't an issue as a fan can easily be fit into the mouth. I noticed while wearing that fresh air flows easily through the mouth as well while walking, so a fan isn't always needed unless it gets overly warm.
I could not possibly be happier with the look of the head. The maker managed to translate my art style into physical form. Every detail is there, and the style is perfect for the more toony-style that my Fursona has going for her. They made sure to include little details such as a toony tuft of hair and a beauty mark on her muzzle, even down to the freckles on her muzzle. The shaving is even and well done. The expression on her face is perfect with the included felt eyebrows. The mouth inside even has sewn teeth, as well as exposed fangs that match the reference. One detail I want to include is that the maker also installed a velcro patch in the mouth for a removable tongue, and sent two tongues made of minky (one short one longer) that are interchangeable for wear. This was not requested as an add-on and was added by the maker on their own. This was a wonderful surprise!
The ears are a particular highlight as they managed to nail the specific shape they have, giving them a slight forward curve that matches the reference. The ears are also very flexible and do not deform when held down for extended periods (no more than a few hours for traveling, since I had her stored briefly in a suitcase). The fur color chosen is perfect and very soft and plush. Everything is symmetrical and looks cleanly and professionally made. Very, VERY high quality work.
The hands fit me perfectly, which is something I was a little concerned about due to having smaller hands and wrists. I was asked for exact measurements and this did wonders because they're very comfortable and feel great to wear. They're 4 finger styled toony paws which was requested, but despite this they have an excellent range of motion and are comfortable when worn and don't fall off my hands. The quality of the make is very high as well with no visual signs of wear after having worn them for a full convention weekend. They include soft, black claws made with a type of faux leather that match the reference art given, with the pawpads made of a soft, short fur. The pawpads are lightly stuffed and have a bit of a squish to them. Like the head, the handpaws are lined, which helps when wearing for long periods.
The paws look perfect and match both the reference and my Fursona as a whole. I really love how plush and soft they look, and like with the head, the fur they're made of is extremely soft. Although sleeves were not requested, the paws have a good length to them that covers the wrists and makes them easily worn with long sleeves.
The tail was a little heavier than I was expecting as a whole due to being stuffed, though not by an extreme amount. It's designed to curl upwards and was shown by the maker photos as sitting on the body with the higher curl present, though when I wore it myself it tended to hang down a lot lower on my body. It still had that curl because it was sewn that way, but it hung heavily from my belt throughout the day. I did reach out to the maker for their thoughts on why this might be, and I confirmed that belt you're wearing does need to be pulled pretty right to keep it flat to your body. In the end I'm not sure if it's an issue with the particular belt I used (because I did have it cinched pretty snugly), but it wasn't a deal breaker. I'll just be experimenting with belts as I wear it more to see what works best as it did give me a bit of fatigue on my hips after wearing the tail all day, but part of that is to be expected!
Visually, the tail is perfect and fits with the rest of the partial. It's the exact shape and size I was looking for and matches the reference exactly. Like the rest of the suit, it's very soft and has nice shaving to make it look cute and fluffy.
The feet are slipper-style and are very comfortable. They're lined with a slicker fabric compared to the head and hands, and have outdoor rubber soles on the bottom, which were requested. I informed my maker that I needed size 7 and 1/2 (US Women's), and unfortunately this resulted in the feet being slightly large on me despite that being my usual shoe size. I figured this might be due to the maker taking care not to make them too small and erring on slightly larger to be safe, which I do appreciate because I would much prefer a slightly larger fit to a smaller one. That said, the fit did require me to make some small adjustments so that they could be worn for long periods without slipping around too much (I don't think they'd slip OFF but it would have been a little uncomfortable for lots of walking). The maker was very helpful when I asked about this and gave me tips for filling the soles for a more snug fit, and ultimately I was able to correct this by adding some foam padding in the soles that's removable for cleaning/replacing. After this addition I was able to wear them comfortably over a convention weekend without issue. The outdoor soles are very sturdy as well and didn't seem to get very dirty or show much wear at all over the time worn, though they were worn primarily indoors with light wear outdoors.
Visually, the paws look wonderful. They're three-toed which matches the character reference, and they're made of a soft, lightweight foam. They feature the same fur as the paws as well as the faux-leather claws which match them well. The shape of the paws is great, and the shaving is very nicely done. Both feet are symmetrical and I'm very pleased with the sturdiness of the outdoor soles as they offer flexibility without taking away from the look visually.
As mentioned, my suit was given a detachable tongue feature with two tongue parts that could be interchanged for wear/photos. I'm not sure if this specifically is always included in every suit they make, as it was not requested and was added by the maker themselves. It was a lovely surprise and I enjoy it being added a lot as it gives me some more flexibility with changing her expression if desired. They're also easy to change and very well made parts.
The head also included a zipper on the back that was included when room in the head for glasses was discussed. This is actually the first suit of theirs to include this, and the maker has mentioned they will be including the zipper in the head for projects going forward.
