She runs a public channel for her work, but direct communication was over DM's and the primary form. Her slots where open due to another person backing out of their first full suit slot and I took it over with this commission. Pinku provided the instructions for a DTD and we knew her heads would fit me from previously trying on another premade during a con. Maker CommunicationThroughout the process of the suit being made Pinku posted both public updates about the progress as well as more detailed behind the scenes steps of the process. From the color pallets at the start, to the carving of the head. Pattern lining, explaining how the ears as a flat object would have 3D shape via shaving. Through the final mock ups of hair to final design. The body followed the same process though with larger gaps lacking an update as it was mostly just “cutting out the shapes” the suit came together at both projected goal dates of the head done by FWA 2025 and the body completed and delivered at AC 2025. The process of communication was very friendly due to previous friendship, though when it came to timelines and payments it was straight forward business on both sides. Project Completion TimePayments were done in two separate amounts, I paid for the head January 12th and had it a week prior to FWA 2025, I believe it came in May 1st. We intended for that delay in the making as that was the first con I would be at to have it and when I made the DTD for the body. The body was paid for June 16th and the body was delivered by July 2nd. I'm amazed at how quickly the body came together in just under a month to meet the AC deadline. Pinku also currently makes it a point to never take multiple custom commissions Overall Project QualityI was already overjoyed with the suit when I first got it, and the minor adjustments done to compensate for the arms have only made it better. I’ve ran across conventions, been in the AC parade, and ran around the woods for 3 days on rough ground with no issues. The body stretches ever so slightly with no worry of damage as I’m pulling the body up from where it wants to naturally settle around the lower waist which with stuffing can stand on its own. I’m the first otter done by Pinku, and the first fullsuit, but the eye style and base of the head shines through while still reading distinctly otter shaped by strangers with and without the hair. It fits me perfectly and I look forward to many more years running around in it. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head initially is a little snug to get on, however after taking it off and on a few times its gotten easier to do, there is no zipper or clasp to the head its all elastic around the neck and makes for a nice shape and a simple tug it on and off situation. Nothing in the head pokes or prods, and my chin sits comfortable inside it. The interior has a custom lining that breaths well compared to the backings I've had in older heads and dry's out rather quickly with direct airflow against it. The eyes are also removeable for cleaning as well. Ventilation is great, the last con I wore the suit to was an all outdoor event and when the breeze was strong enough I could feel it clearly through the eyes and mouth. The hair and eyeshadow accessories do not impede the airflow, though the head is a little cooler when the hair isn't attached. Mouth is a bit small for fitting a soft plastic bottle in so trying to drink water from a bottle results in the bottle crumpling and trying to spill water. However sturdy glass bottles or thicker plastic / reusable bottles can be pushed through the mouth to drink from. Visions outstanding, even with the attached eyeshadows it only cuts off a few centimeters at most of vision and you still retain your limited "peripheral" vision to either side of the eyes. There is a modest blind spot in the middle of the suit due to the nose, however I don't have any issues turning my head to look from either eye to focus. There's no issue with one eye having 'better' vision then the other. The attached hair also sits high enough it doesn't block vision. Bonus points I can actually pull it over my face first partially then fully my head to ware my glasses inside as well if I want to ware them while suiting. Visual SatisfactionShaving on the head is outstanding, the thinner muzzle and face going into the slightly thicker fur on the top and back is a smooth transition leading into a slightly ruffled texture of longer fur. Often hidden by the magnetic hair piece on top of it. All of the fur leading down around the neck being just a tad more fluffy then the body suit its self, we opted to keep it longer so the neck shifting and moving wouldn't cause it to ware thin quickly. The ears also hide a hidden seam that allows you to reach into the backing of the suit, this was left as the layers to shape the ears hide it perfectly fine and you only notice by digging at the base of the ear. This was left for the future intent of possibly adding more magnets to hold the hair in or repairs. I wouldn't have noticed it if Pinku hadn't pointed this out to me. The head has Follow-Me eyes though the shape of the nose sometimes makes it hard to notice depending on the view you're looking at it. You can get multiple looks out of the head by removing the hair which is held on by 3 magnets. The side burns on each side and a central magnet in the forehead. Adding the Velcro eye shadow which also adds additional eyelash design. Also by switching out the tongue inside the head from none, to a short one just at the teeth, to a much longer hanging out the mouth tongue. Switching between these pieces is very quick and results in very different vibes. The design is slightly different then the original art, but all changes to it where approved. Specifically I asked for the cute little fangs which I adore. Giving the whole thing a slightly more toony vibe which is what I always wanted with this version of Chipo. The hair replicates the grey markings in my art work as well. One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionI've been told for the sake of not over stretching and not looking to 'shrunk' the suit can fit anyone 2 inches taller or shorter then me. When in the suit I'm capable of running around and moving very easily though the stuffed legs can make some motions like crossing them understandably difficult. The suit stretches ever so slightly when hyper extending so raising my arms fully up into the air or bending over to touch my toes I can feel the back of the suit shifting to accommodate and lift the lower portions up. However it never feels like I'm hitting a point of 'too far' that might damage it. When I originally got the body at AC 2025 I hadn't noticed right away but doing either of these motions or extending my arms out too far would cause the paws to pop out of the arm sleeves. Pinku took the suit back and added 2 inches on each arm and widened the wrists of the suit which without the paws looks and feels off, but the moment you tuck the paws in gives it the smooth finish you see in the pictures. All images are post-edit of the arms and where done at no extra cost. No seams have popped after 30+ hours of wearing with the later 15 being worn outside in the woods. Internally the suit has a lined bottom from the waist down, this is keeps the lower part of the body surprisingly cool while wearing it. This also serves as an 'internal kangaroo pouch' that was left un sewn on the inside so I can reach down the legs to adjust the stuffing as needed to keep the leg shape. There is also a zipper on each foot to the inside of the leg where you can reach in to adjust the stuffing around the feet. The butt and tail each also have an internal zipper that keeps stuffing in those areas secure and easy to access. The upper half of the suit is not lined, and should always be worn with underarmor, while wearing a full underarmor top I do not feel any of the furs backing or seam work in any uncomfortable way. All zippers on the suit are slightly oversized especially the chest zipper for ease of getting in and out of the suit, this does create a slight 'seam' in the middle of the suit that I was aware of during the process of it being made. The trade off of that however is I can get in and out of the suit in about 5 minutes flat without any assistance and have little worry about the zipper getting jammed in any way. This is also helped by having the tail and feet connected. The only draw back is I'd have to buy a separate tail for partialing, however visually it looks lovely and it means the suit has no hole anywhere on it to connect a tail resulting in a smooth flow from the back into the tail. The suit will heat up fairly quick, the only places air can get out are the neck and arms which are often cut off by tucking the paws inside. However all of that aside blowing air into the widened sleeves when taking the paws off, or just down the neck cools quickly. The line bottom feels cooler then the top, but the top is a lot more tight to the body in terms of shape which keeps the heat closer. Proper underarmor helps a lot and so far the suit hasn't had an issue of being 'heavily' sweated through that I've noticed yet. Because its so fitted to my form, I don't think I'd be able to use many cooling pack items, but I also haven't needed any to run around for a 5 hour period in it. Visual SatisfactionAll markings are sewn in so there is no rub or bleed. The fur brushes out easily and wonderfully looking. Just a quick touch up with a brush resolves any issues of the fur getting ruffled in transportation or while pulling the suit on. Everyone who's seen the suit so far has commented that the fur is exceptionally soft. The body markings for the interior tan spots match with the intentional exception of the left arms markings. These markings are again hand sewn and shaved and its probably one of the biggest highlights of the suit is just how good the shaving was on the arm to make the markings read. We intentionally simplified them to make sure they could be a bit bolder and not busy the arm too much. The sunburst on the back was also simplified and enlarged, as well as moved up closer to the shoulders. I actually like the redesign of the back marking to the point that I'll be using it as reference going forward for how the back marking on Chipo should be drawn in a future reference update. Color selection involved being shown multiple swatches covering the 3 main colors. Brown, tan, and gold. From those swatches I was able to select the ones I liked the most for the final color selection. Pinku offered 3-4 different choices for each color and texture. All padding in the suit is filled with polyfil so the shape of the suit is either made by my own body from the waist up, with the lower half entirely adjustable to my taste by adding or removing stuffing. The style of the suit does deviate in how the legs are digi which was a choice I asked for from the start, a slight drop crotch to give that 'otter tube' shape to the body. The tail was requested to be just above the ground and on level surfaces does not drag. Over all I wanted a toony depiction of Chipo and what I got was a delightfully cute and mischievous creature that I can't help, but start jumping up and down a bit the moment I pull them on. Hands Wear SatisfactionThe hands have one issue, there is a tuft of brown fur that always seems to crease down from the top in between the fingers which in the grand scheme of things won't be noticed, but I've seen when putting them on. That said I could possibly trim it or leave it be because its such a minute detail. I can put them on easily enough and they contain small bags of polyfil under some of the fingers to help give them a more 'puffy' shape and fill out around the finger so the fingers aren't sliding around in 'empty space' and help the hands stay on. The issue of wrist showing was fixed by extending and widening the arm sleeves, this makes getting one glove on very easily when I have a single free hand, however I'm still trying to work out a good way to get the other hand once the first one is done. The insides are not lined, but the seams are soft and don't cause any itching or discomfort. The tips of the paws are soft and stuffed. The hands are swappable and there is no 'set' left or right. Visual SatisfactionAgain like the previous sections the fur is soft, easily brushed, and looks outstanding, the shaving it smooth and even with no backing showing. Final CommentsI cannot stress how happy I am to come full circle from buying a tail and a pair of paws so many years ago from Pinku to now getting my first fullsuit from her. The suit has so far been a delight to ware and has gotten nothing but delightful reactions from folks seeing me running around. Communication was clear and constant except during expected delays when Pinku was working at a con. Adjustments to the suit where done without extra charge and it came out just as adorable as I always hoped it would. I'd happily recommend them to other friends and already have.
