Faulkner’s head is nice and comfy, slipping on nicely while also fitting very well, and the vision through his eyes is highly satisfactory. Sadly, due to the COVID-19 pandemic I have not been able to wear his head to a meet, but I have worn him around my bedroom a few times and the vision is very good, so his vision should be good for fursuit walks. The ears fall in front of my eyes sometimes, but this is fine as they can be easily moved out of the way and held back, and hiding behind big bunny ears is part of the fun of being a lop rabbit.
With his long, floppy ears, big blue eyes contained within Mei’s instantly recognisable and adorable eye shape, and cute bunny teeth, Faulkner has a highly satisfactory appearance and I am therefore very glad to have chosen Mei as his maker. Mei was a strong candidate due to the fact that one of her sonas is also a lop rabbit like Faulkner, and I fell in love with her style. She let me go through multiple different shades of blue for his hair, lower ears and the patches over his eyes, and she found a blue fur choice which looks dazzlingly beautiful and enhances his spiritual, winter-themed appearance – almost like glacial sapphire. Mei successfully combined her style with the ref sheet I supplied her with, and as the ref sheet was a bit dated by the time the making of the suit started, we both worked together to find the right look for him, and the end result is very close to what I had in mind. Through this I was also able to redesign my fursona to match the suit, and the end result is a great success – in this way, the resulting suit improved the character.
There are also a few forgivable nitpicks that I must point out. One is that, while his ears are fluffy, the fur on his face is a little bit too shaved in some areas, and the points of the star patch on his right eye are a bit uneven (although it still looks like a six-pointed star, which, as my maker stated, was a challenging shape to cut out, so she still did a solid job). Another minor issue is his nose, which, while the correct shape (a rounded triangle), is a bit too flat-looking and accidentally positioned slightly off-centre. However, this is pretty hard to notice from a distance, and doesn’t make him any less cute. Also, although the button nose could have been a bit larger, it does admittedly give his face a teddy bear-style appearance, which is fine. After all, the most important thing is that he looks like a happy toony rabbit, and Mei very much succeeded at that.
Faulkner’s hands are perhaps a little too big for my hands, but this is my fault as I may have given slightly incorrect measurements, but even so, they slip on well and can be easily removed. The arm sleeves also fit very nicely, are comfy and easy to get on, with nice stretchy elastic that is the right length for my back.
As for his feet, both pairs of feet (indoor and outdoor), fit well, although the indoor feet are a bit hard to get on especially with thicker socks, and as such, I will make sure to wear thin socks with them and make sure to get them on carefully in order to not damage them. Wearing both feet though is great, they are the right size and are very comfy.
Faulkner’s hands are appropriately big and toony with shiny sky blue pawpads and just the right amount of fur, and Mei did a great job at giving him five-fingered paws that are still rounded and rabbit-like,
His arm sleeves also look good, and also contain big blue stripes that I specifically asked to be sewn so that they’d never be covered up with a shirt on, and Mei thus did a good job at making the stripes large and visible.
The two pairs of feet (indoor and outdoor) are visually very decent and fluffy, and the paw pads on the indoor ones look wonderful, with their sky blue pawpads being shiny just like the hand paws. During the process of making the feet, my maker accidentally misinterpreted the reference sheet and cut out four-toed feet for him instead of three-toed (Faulkner is a toony rabbit, and toony rabbits tend to be drawn with three-toed feet). However, after I pointed this out, she apologised for this mistake and did a solid job at correcting it in a timely manner. Both pairs of feet were given three toes, and although they look a little bit odd up close, the sewing correction is hard to notice especially when worn and from a distance. This shows that Mei is a dependable maker who will do whatever she can to meet the needs of the commissioner.
The tail, being a small rabbit tail, is very easy to get on with a stretchy belt. The straps are nice and secure as well.
Faulkner’s tail is a decent size, although it perhaps could have been a little bit larger. It has a good appearance though, with the tail being suitably fluffy and the sown-on blue stripe looking pretty and standing out nicely. I am therefore satisfied with this tail.
Furthermore, one thing that is especially good that I must point out: Mei chose a shade of blue for his nose, hand paw pads and indoor feet paw pads that is different from the main blue shade used for his hair, ears, feet, etc. This lighter, sky-blue shade amplified his colour scheme and improved the suit’s appearance. I envisioned him with the same shade of blue being used everywhere except for the fluff on his neck, wrists and feet, but this additional shade looks wonderful and I thank Mei for this great idea. Faulkner now has three shades of blue: Sapphire, sky blue and periwinkle, all of which work together beautifully and glimmer in the morning sun.

Mei Fursuits is a highly recommended and kind-hearted fursuit maker, a maker who works hard, is very professional and does everything she can to satisfy the customer. I really enjoyed commissioning her and we made great friends during the process. The resulting Faulkner suit is one that I look forward to wearing for years to come, and to be part of a fursuit family that has such an immediately recognisable style (her big, caring eyes) feels really special. One day, I will be able to take him to a meet, and make him truly come to life.
