The maker responded within 24 hours with a quote, and the expectations of what was needed from me were very clear. Maker CommunicationRight away, I was drawn in by BlueHarbor's passion and interest in creating my character. BlueHarbor contacted me about fur options and sent work-in-progress photos while working on my suit. When there were any questions about my character's design, BlueHarbor reached out to make sure that markings were placed in a way that made me happy. Project Completion TimeThe project was completed quickly (within 6 months) and well within the timeframe that was established at the beginning of the transaction. Shipping was via UPS with tracking. It arrived quickly and included some cute BlueHarborCreations stickers/business cards, and a personalized guide for how to care for my new fursuit. Overall Project QualityI am thrilled with the outcome of the final project. I am an extremely active performer when I am in fursuit, and this suit has held up very well throughout its first convention. While I was worried about the tightness in the shoulders and the handpaws coming loose at first, these concerns quickly resolved as the suit was worn in. Blue Harbor Creations has a reasonable price range and consistent quality as a creator. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe mask is built on a foam base and is very light and easy to wear. It is just tight enough that it won't fly off when I am performing. The inside is lined, but I still wear a balaclava while wearing it out of habit. The lining material is very cool and makes it easier to slide the head on and off. Ventilation through the eyes and mouth is excellent. Vision is on-par with other high-quality fursuits that I have worn. It is worth noting that the attachable eyelids do alter the field of vision, but that is to be expected. Visual SatisfactionThe markings are identical to the reference provided. A majority of the small markings are sewn. Only a few of the blue markings are painted onto the fur (i.e. freckles), and still look excellent. The shaving is done well and the fur chosen is a good quality. Seams are just a little noticeable on the chin and forehead. The eyes are static and give off a great happy expression. One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionThe bodysuit is comfortable and fits me well. When the suit was new, it was a little bit tight in the shoulders. With a few hours of wear, the shoulders have loosened up and become more comfortable. After heavy and active wear at her first convention, I only found one seam along a stripe that needed to be repaired. The padding comes in the form of pillows and is completely removeable, which makes it easier to wash and dry. Visual SatisfactionThe bodysuit looks amazing and matches the reference perfectly! Even the smallest markings got the attention that they deserved. The digitigrade shapes look wonderful, both in photos and in motion. Hands Wear SatisfactionThe paws are padded with small, removeable pillows. They are very comfortable to wear and seem to be very durable. My wrists would show when performing for the first few times that I wore the suit. As the bodysuit was broken in, this became less of an issue. I do need assistance from a friend to tuck the wrists back into the bodysuit sleeves if they slip out while performing. There is a tag inside one handpaw to help me remember between right/left paws. Visual SatisfactionThe markings are consistent with the reference sheet. The fur is high quality and soft, and the shaving on the fingers is even. The material of the pawpads is sleek and easy to clean. Tail Wear SatisfactionThe tail is attached to the bodysuit, which gives it great motion! Very wiggly and cute, 10/10. Visual SatisfactionThe markings on the tail match the reference, and the tail had excellent movement due to being attached to the bodysuit. Feet Wear SatisfactionThe feet are built on sneakers, and I can tie them more loose/tight as desired. They are soft and very comfortable to wear. I found them very easy to walk in, and no amount of action will allow my ankles to show! There is a tag in one foot to help me remember between right/left feet. Visual SatisfactionThe markings are consistent with the reference sheet. The maker reached out to ensure that I approved of the design on the bottom of the feet, which was not shown on the given reference. The fur is high quality and soft, and the shaving on the toes is even. They are indoor feet, and the material of the pawpads is sleek and easy to clean throughout a convention. The lighter colored fur takes a little more effort to clean after heavy wear. Special FeaturesTwo pairs of velcro-attachable eyelids (sassy and sleepy). They are great for a change in expression (late night, sleepy fursuiting anyone?). They are easy to put on before wearing and stay on for the duration of performing. I haven't used them as much as I should yet, but I'm excited for future opportunities! There is a pocket on the inside of the bodysuit, which is great for storing a hotel room keycard.
