My journey to getting this suit was a bit of a team effort! I actually 'dispatched' some friends who were on the ground at MFF to scout out the options for me. They cleared it with Corkie for me to reach out, and the remote buying experience couldn't have been better.
Even in the middle of a busy convention, she was incredibly accommodating—sending photos and chatting with me over Telegram to help me decide. She made the process of adding FruitPop to my pack seamless and stress-free. If you're looking for a maker who is communicative and easy to work with, even from a distance, Corkie is the one!
The communication has been awesome from start to finish. Corkie kept me fully informed from the moment of sale, through her journey home from the con, and all the way until FruitPop was shipped out to me. It’s been great getting to know her better post-purchase, too—she’s back to streaming her work, which is such a cool way to stay connected with the process. She truly makes you feel like more than just a customer; you feel like part of the family!
While I’m not sure of the exact build timeline since he was an MFF premade, the delivery was incredibly impressive! Despite having to make the long cross-country drive home after the convention and then navigating the chaos of the holiday shipping season, Corkie managed to get him out the door and into my hands in under two weeks. I couldn't have asked for a more professional or timely turnaround!
Overall Project Quality & Durability
"The build quality is exceptional. It’s clear that Corkie stands by her work—she even provides instructions for a gentle machine wash (sans agitator) if things get serious, which makes maintenance incredibly easy! After a full con, the suit proved to be both durable and high-quality.
As a premade partial, everything flows exactly as it should. The seams are tight, markings hold their shape, and the colors are perfectly consistent across all pieces. While poodling can sometimes look a bit 'off' with any partial, this suit looks fantastic with the right outfit and serves as a high-quality, fun entry into the fursuit world."
Value & Aesthetic Appeal
"I went into this without specific expectations since it was a premade, but I am thrilled with the result. While this husky was at a slightly higher price point than some of her other premades, the complexity of the fur pattern makes it well worth the investment. Corkie truly has something for every price point, but the craftsmanship on this 'glow-up' makes it a purchase I’d happily make again."
Final Thoughts
"The project definitely met my expectations for a unified, professional look. It’s consistent with the high standard I’ve seen in Corkie's previous work, and I’m confident these pieces will last a long time. It’s a heckin' cute, durable suit that I’m proud to have in my pack!"
Between my own time in the head and my friend (who wore FruitPop for a bit), we have a great feel for the wearability! The newer soft-back style makes the head feel impressively light compared to fully carved designs. While it’s a slightly looser fit, as my friend put it, that just adds to the 'husky derpyness' without any pokey or uncomfortable spots!
Ventilation is top-tier. Even without a fan, it didn’t feel stuffy during con dances, but with modern slim fans installed, it’s remarkably cool. Visibility is exactly what you’d expect for a quality suit; there’s a small, standard blind spot to get used to, but nothing a quick head-turn doesn’t solve. It absorbed moisture well and stayed comfortable through the long con hours.
Symmetry & Shaving
Symmetry is spot-on and the markings are perfectly balanced. The shave is nice and even—no choppy spots or visible backing. It’s a very polished, smooth finish overall!
Materials & Quality
The fur is high-quality, super soft, and brushes easily. In true husky fashion, he sheds a tiny bit during grooming, but the markings are solid with zero risk of bleeding. It feels built to last!
Expression & Eyes
I’m obsessed with the expression! The follow-me eyes are great, and those custom popsicle details in the pupils are such a sweet, unique touch.
Concept vs. Final Product
After missing out on a new suit at BLFC, I had some serious FOMO! I headed straight to Corkie’s Trello to see what was coming up and started watching the husky in anticipation. When she sent me photos of him finished at MFF, I knew I just had to add him to our pack!
Since I snagged him as a premade, I expected a few artistic pivots from the original sketch. While I do miss the hair fluff and golden under-eye markings, the actual fur colors are way better in person than the concept art suggested. He is one heckin’ cute pup, and the 'in-person' glow-up is real!
The paws are a total win. They are comfortable, easy to slip on and off, and stayed securely in place. We both found the fit to be great, and the durability is excellent—they handle con-life easily while feeling soft and natural to wear.
Symmetry & Shaving
"The paws are beautifully symmetric and simple in the best way! The shaving is even across the board, and the transition matches the head perfectly for a seamless look."
Materials & Durability
"The fur quality is consistent with the head—soft and easy to maintain. The paw pads look and feel great, and I was especially impressed with how durable they are. They survived the 'million' escalator trips at my recent con and were super easy to clean afterward, even after picking up some inevitable con grunge!"
Concept Art & Design
"The paws match the concept art perfectly! As expected for a premade, they capture the character’s vibe exactly as promised. I’m really happy with how they rounded out the look."
The tail is just a blast to wear. That signature husky curl has a fun, bouncy movement that feels very durable. As I mentioned with the belt-tuning, we're still working on the 'droop' factor, but overall it’s an easy-to-wear piece that really brings the character's energy to life!
Symmetry & Shave
"The tail is perfectly symmetrical and matches the character design to a T. The shaving is smooth and even, with transitions that are just as seamless as the rest of the suit."
Materials & Quality
"The fur quality is excellent and consistent with the head and paws—soft, high-quality, and very easy to brush out. The colors and materials chosen are top-notch!"
Movement & Fit
"The husky curl has a really nice, playful bounce to it! Getting the fit exactly right has been a bit of a challenge as the tail wants to droop, but Corkie has been wonderful to work with on it. Per her advice, a stiffer belt helped some, though I’m still fine-tuning the positioning. I’m waiting to see how it integrates with the rest of my upcoming parts, but I feel totally comfortable knowing I can go to Corkie for more help if I need it. Her willingness to troubleshoot 1:1 is amazing!"
Concept Art
"Just like the paws, the tail matches the concept art perfectly. It’s exactly what I expected from a high-quality premade!"
