Features: Spikes Photos of Completed Product Overall Initial ContactVery easy- dmed on Twitter and got a reply and quote very quickly. Maker CommunicationCommunication switched from Twitter to telegram after initial contact. Overall, communication was very good. While I did not directly contact Apex for a while after the initial contact + payment, it was because I felt I didn't need to. Apex had a public and well organized Trello along with a public updates telegram chat where she posted her progress on other suits regularly, so I was never unsure where I was in the queue or if she was making progress on other suits. Once my spot in the queue was reached, I was given regular updates with many wip pictures, and was consulted in every step of the design process. While the partial was being made, I ended up having only one correction. the claw on the foot I requested to be missing was initially included, but when I pointed this out apex immediately altered that foot, and that was that. Project Completion TimeIt took a while to get to my partial- there was a very large queue. However, I knew this when placing the commission, so it wasn't very surprising. The original ETA was passed, but considering that my commission was placed before the COVID-19 pandemic, delays were expected, so it wasn't much of a concern on my end. Overall Project QualityFor the cost of the partial, the quality was great! I only had very minor issues, and am overall very satisfied with the results. It was very hard finding a maker who I thought could tackle a reptile head with the exact profile I wanted, and I think Apex really knocked it out of the park! Her base work is phenomenal, which was why I commissioned her in the first place, and I was not disappointed. While I had some minor issues with other parts of the suit, the head was the main thing I really wanted to turn out, and it turned out phenomenally. My expectations were met and succeeded. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head fits nicely, if a little on the loose side. I wear glasses, and there's plenty of room to wear them in-suit. Vision isn't amazing through the eyes (mostly due to the eyelids, which I requested so that's on me), but the mouth is big and can be propped open for better vision. Circulation is great with both the mouth and the lizard ear holes letting in air very easily. Visual SatisfactionAbsolutely adorable. Came out better than I had expected- the maker was not previously experienced with making reptiles, but even then it turned out phenomenal. The face profile is properly lizard-y, and even the "beard" looks nice without being too bulky- the fur on the neck was left unshaven to make it look more spikey, which I think looked great. The shaving is very nice, no visible backing, the expression is great, and I love the colors used (commission was artistic liberty in terms of colors + patterns, I just asked for something colorful) Hands Wear SatisfactionThe hands themselves are probably my least favorite part of this partial. The fingers are stubby and makes it hard to grab anything, and are kind of uncomfortable to wear. Its hard to tell which glove is which since there isn't a defined thumb. I will likely try to alter them eventually if not replace them. I did not bring this up to the maker since I didn't consider it a huge deal- the hands are still wearable, if a little annoying. They're a slim-fingered design as well, which I know the maker does not often do, so I don't really fault Apex for my minor dissatisfaction. Other than the awkward fit, the hands are nicely made, with sturdy stitches, and are lined nicely. Armsleeves fit great! just the right length, and just a little bit baggy (which I think makes it more comfy). they cover the hands great. The shoulder strap meant to keep them up is a bit too big, but that can be adjusted easily myself by just doing a little bit of sewing. Visual SatisfactionThe claws tend to lay strangely on my fingers and point in odd directions, but I think that's more due to the strange fit. Other than that, they're nice and simple blue handpaws- no pads (since it's for a reptile), four fingers. Shaving is nice and even overall. armsleeves are amazing! The pattern is fun, and the shoulder pauldrons are a very nice touch. Really makes the partial stand out as a bearded dragon specifically and not a generic reptile. Tail Wear SatisfactionTail fits nicely, has a good weight to it. Belt loops work great, and it holds up without the base sagging. Visual SatisfactionThis thing is HUGE. Was not expecting a floor dragger when I commissioned coyote arcade and was very plesently surprised. The markings all look nice, and there doesn't seem to be any twisting as it goes down. The shaving is good and even overall. Feet Wear SatisfactionFit very well! My feet are a bit strangely sized so I was worried, but they fit perfectly fine. The seams are durable, and the claws are sewn on securely. Visual SatisfactionGreat! they're solid colored, so symmetry isn't an issue.
