Overall

Initial ContactTiny Wyvern was easy to contact and provided me with a quote involving a breakdown of what each part would cost! I messaged them directly, although they now take commissions via a form.

Maker CommunicationCommunication was very frequent! As they worked on my suit I received updates sometimes multiple times a day through Telegram, and all of my questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. Progress photos were sent throughout the process, as well as rough concept sketches in the beginning to ensure I was happy with their plan.

Project Completion TimeMy suit had a very tight deadline of 6 months since I wished to have him in time for a convention, and they worked to ensure it was met!

Overall Project QualityOverall, I am beyond happy with the end result of my fursuit. Over the past 2 years, I have suited more due to the quality and wearability, and I have found it so easy to melt into character the moment I put the head on. The build of the suit has allowed me to bring him to various events, furry and not, and enjoy it without worry of a popped seam or how difficult it'll be to clean later on.

Tiny Wyvern went above and beyond in order to ensure I was happy with the comfort of the suit, and to make sure it matched my ideal version of how I'd like to translate my sona from art to the physical world. They took time to ask about my favorite art pieces I had of him, and used that as inspiration for his expression and body shape. The construction of the suit is very well done, and I have not had issues outside of our trial period for my wings, which they did multiple versions of to ensure they worked for me!

The timeline they gave me for my suit involved a fast turnaround time, and they worked to ensure it was met. The result of the suit, and their love for working on it for me, made this such an easy process. I would easily do it again, and will continue to recommend their work.

Components

Head

Wear SatisfactionVentilation:
Very well-sized and lightweight! A fan is included in the head, which makes it easier to wear for longer periods of time. The battery pack for the fan has its own pocket sewn into the back of the neck, keeping it out of the way. The 2-D eyes and pickable nose add an additional layer of ventilation that helps when wearing the suit for a longer period. The mouth is positioned in an open smile and aligned with my own mouth very well, meaning I am able to breathe very easily.

Fit:
Head is fully lined, and is easy to take off even when wearing paws. Smooth inner sculpt means nothing is awkward around my face, and it hugs firmly around my cheeks allowing for a good sense of movement.

Vision:
I chose to go with the 2-D style eyes for stylization purposes, but it has the added benefit of fantastic vision! Like any suit, there will normally be a blocked area in the middle to account of the bridge of the nose, but overall I can move around without a handler. The only problem area for me is when approaching stairs or escalators due to the pronounced cheek area, but I have run into this with any other suit I wear. In order to navigate those areas, I simply look through the mouth!

Visual SatisfactionI cannot express how pleased I am with how this suit came out. Tiny Wyvern looked at the way I drew my sona and adjusted their style to fit in elements of my own. Throughout the process, they were very upfront in ensuring I was pleased with various elements such as sculpt, fit, and fur lengths. The lengths of fur in particular, I am blown away by, as they took extra care to note the differences in various types of shepherds and ensure mine match the real-life counterpart. The fur is high quality and easy to take care of, and has not shown many signs of aging over the past 2 years I have owned the suit.

The size of the head means I can transition from partialing to fullsuiting without either looking unnatural. The hand-painted eyes stand out from many other suits I've seen, and truly make my suit feel one-of-a-kind.

One-Piece Body

Wear SatisfactionThis suit is comfortable to wear for longer periods of time, especially compared to other full suits I have owned. The bodysuit is pretty form-fitting when the padding is aligned correctly, which is how I personally prefer my suits to fit. I have a large area of movement and am able to walk very easily due to the attached feetpaws. The length of the arm segments is perfect, allowing movement without sliding up to show anything underneath.

The wings on the suit are detachable, and the bodysuit is able to be worn both with and without them. Under the suit is a backpack-style harness that clips over my chest and is adjustable. Wings are able to be attached through zippers in the back, and the entire torso is slid up at once: straps of the harness first, followed by the arm sleeves of the fursuit. The suit is tighter when the wings are attached due to the added padding, but is not uncomfortable since I can adjust it to my preferred fit. Without the wings, the torso has a bit of a looser fit, but this allows for more breathability and movement. The flexibility of having them be removable has allowed me to enjoy suiting in many more scenarios!

The leg padding is a single sewn piece that wraps around my butt and down either thigh. It is open on the top, allowing for polyfill to be removed or added at my discretion. The way the suit is sewn means I slide the padding in until it sits in the space around my thigh, locking into place even as I move around in suit. I never feel as though I have to adjust it throughout my time wearing it.

Visual SatisfactionThe symmetry of the suit is nice and even in both the head and the body, especially with the transition from legs to feetpaws. Attention to detail is immaculate, with longer areas of fur hiding seams and zippers.

Tail

Wear SatisfactionThe tail is attached to the bodysuit, making it easier to suit up since I don't have to hassle with a belt! Also helps when packing, since I'm never able to forget it.

Hidden in the longer fur on the bottom of the tail is a zipper that allows for me to restuff the tail when the polyfill naturally slides down to the tip over time. This helps ensure that it never looks 'frumpy'. I am also able to remove the polyfill when washing the suit, helping it to dry faster.

Visual SatisfactionThe tail looks fantastic, and the transition from the back of the bodysuit to the tail itself is seamless. The visual language is great, and the movement helps to sell a character performance.

Feet

Wear SatisfactionInside the feetpaws are a pair of crocs, which I requested. They are removable, making it easy to clean or change out how I'd like to wear them! Paws can be worn for a long length of time without any discomfort due to the shoes inside. Feetpaws can be attached to the fullsuit via zippers, or removed if I wish to partial. They are on the large side to account for the toony style of my suit, and the toe parts are a harder foam than other areas of the suit, which helps with durability over time. This does mean, though, that they cannot be folded up for traveling or storage purposes. Claws are very firmly attached, and high enough off the ground that they don't scrape as I walk.

I am able to slide the paws on without the need for my hands; however, to remove them, I often do use my fingers to slide my feet out of the crocs.

The interior is lined with a fabric that matches my sona's personality, which can be found in various parts of the suit as well.

Visual SatisfactionPaws look fantastic! Great visual language, species-accurate in shape. The fur is longer on the back side in order to match my species and shorter on the front toes. Since they are outdoor feetpaws, the bottom is made out of a hard, foam-mat-like material and is very durable.

Special FeaturesThe wings, as mentioned in the body section, are fully detachable! This was a special request I made before we began the commission process, and the maker worked extra hard to ensure this was done properly. I am blown away by the result, and very thankful for their willingness to go back to the drawing board when something didn't work for me.
