I first saw them advertising in the Anthrocon discord server. Through that I got to their website where they had a quote form available. Goth's website shows when they are taking commissions or not, and they were not at the time for another day or so, but they still offer quotes when not accepting commissions. I filled out that quote form and they contacted me through discord a little later with the quote and a little gushing over how cute Marcy is. As for measurements, they explained all they needed and answered my questions quickly.
They contacted me very quickly and used my primary method of communication(discord). They were super nice and since I was new to the fandom at the time of commissioning the head, tail, and hands, and they even offered to answer any questions I had about fursuiting and Anthrocon(since I was planning on going, and did go!)! They treated me like a friend and we are friends now. They were very clear on everything and gave multiple updates throughout the process. Everything was made promptly.
For the head and handpaws, they were finished in about a month and delivered in person. The tail was finished slightly later and shipped over. For the feetpaws, they were finished in about a month and delivered in person. Bodysuit also took about a month and was shipped. They used USPS for shipping and no delays were experienced. Tracking was provided.
I am overwhelmingly satisfied with how everything turned out! In terms of baseball, if my expectations were a home run, they hit the ball to the moon. I have never felt more adorable in my life! Everything is very durable, and the fur is so soft. 3/4 of my cats are terrified of me while wearing this though.
All markings look perfect and everything fits correctly.
Everything is completely cohesive and matches the character as well as possible. Based on their previous works(see Anthrocat or Daisy for most similar works), it is perfectly within their style.
When it comes to price for what I received, I feel like I didn't pay enough. It was well worth the price.
So, thank you so much Goth!! You are my primary recommendation for everyone I meet that is looking to commission a suit! I love the suit so much, Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
It is super comfortable! I basically feel like I'm wearing a big, very hot pillow. There is no fans inside of it, but the mouth and eyes are open to air flow. A fan can fit inside the mouth (like those popsicle fans I see people with sometimes.) It fits my head perfectly fine, and stays put when on. Its pretty easy to clean as I am able to machine wash it(even if its not the preferred method of washing.) and air dry it with fans.
As for vision, I can see pretty good in front of me. Due to the gap between the eyes there is a small blind spot in front of me, but it doesn't cause any issues. I am able to turn my head just fine to see in any direction.
It looks SOO cute! I absolutely love how they made it. They modified the design a bit(with permission from me) to make the nose a heart. They also painted some hearts as highlights in the eyes(so cute!!). They gave me some choices on the material to get it just right, and the fur is perfect! The fur used is super soft and shaved very well. It has not rub off or bled at all. It does shed a bit, but that's probably just because its still pretty new and has some loose hairs. The symmetrical parts are made perfectly.
Overall, I am completely satisfied and overjoyed with how it turned out! I cherish it.
It matches the concept art completely(besides approved changes).
I feel like I'm wearing a big, fluffy blanket, and I love it so much! Its soft and made of a good comfy material. It is designed from a duct tape dummy and fits me perfectly. I am able to move pretty much like normal(just with much bigger legs.) There are definitely some positions that seams would pop if I moved that way, but that would require contorting my body in ways that are uncomfortable for me even without the suit. Seems perfectly suitable for me and very durable.
The interior is made very well and feels completely fine. As for airflow, there is only the opening for the hands(these are basically gloves), tail(covers the hole completely), head(head has some fluff around the neck that drapes down), and legs(Zippers up to the feet paws.), and those all get covered completely. Which means all the air flow comes from the mouth and eyes. I could probably add, or get, some fans added to make it better. I expected it to be hot, and it is. But not too hot.
Its the same review as with the head basically. It matches the character as well as is possible with my body shape.
As for the padding on the legs, its perfect! Its got digitigrade legs and they look amazing!
These are very comfy. They are four finger handpaws that basically feel like a giant pair of gloves. Soft and cute. Movement with them is perfectly fine. When I have the bodysuit on, there is no visible skin on my arm when I have these on. These are very durable and can take quite a beating and still look untouched.
Once again, basically the same as the head. Perfect color, and designed very well. They are perfectly symmetrical and can even be worn interchangeably between the hands. There is no left or right, just paw.
The tail is perfectly fine. I use a regular belt to attach it to me. Seems perfectly durable. Think I damaged a little patch of fur while washing at some point, but it isn't noticeable unless I go to brush it.
It looks absolutely perfect. It was simplified a bit due to material limitations. Character's tail has a gradient from black to pink, but that's not really feasible to sew.
The feet fit well, but are a bit loose when worn without the bodysuit. They are designed to be worn in and outside, and have just a foamy base to walk on. There are no paw pads. The sides right by the floor do basically act as mops though, but there are stain removers that work for them. Other than that, they've already taken a beating and survived it without any issue, so very durable.
As for walking in them, its fine. Its just like walking with slightly padded shoes. Just super, super wide ones.
Like with the head, still perfect. Matches the character extremely well.
I got a purple collar with a gold colored 3d printed heart charm to go with the head. Collar fits fine and the charm is very cute!
Would you recommend this maker?
This means the reviewer would recommend The Goth Bear.
TLDR; Suit is durable, matches character, and super soft! I love it so much! Well worth the price.
