We added each other in Facebook back in 2016, but it wasn't until 2021 that we started talking to each other and become friends. In the mean time, I've seen their works and talked to them many times but didn't wanted a fursuit yet because of economic reasons. In 2022 I had the savings for a comission but couldn't pay it all upfront, so I reached to them about it and accepted to pay in different ammounts in 3 instances, and then we made business.
We talk everyday since 2021, during the crafting of the suits they sent some wips and anticipated some final results, such as "This color will look like this example, the hair will look like this because I sew it in a specific way, if I do the floppy ear as you said it will look like this"
Those where some examples among others, but I must state that in every ocassion they asked for approval before continue and also asked me if I had any questions.
The comission took around 3 full months to finish from start of April to ends of June or start of July, in the mean time they showed me wips and even got the opportunity to visit their workshop to see the crafting by myself. In fact I was called to his home the day after it was done so I got it straig out of the sewing machine.
The overall feeling of being inside the suit its confortable, its slightly heavier than other's friends but that doesn't bothers me as I got used to it and wouldn't like it otherwise.
I can see, hear and feel enough of my surroundings with the whole partial on me, i found other fursutis kind of difficult to hear things but Im sure it's because I didn't used those as long as my own.
There are things I would change, but not because I dislike the actual outcome, but rather I've seen and wore the newer pieces that the maker made for other customers. Im 100% satisfied with what I got.
I haven't damaged it yet, considering that many fursuits made back in 2018 are still doing really ok after being cleaned in the laundry machine, im expecting mine as well to resist at least 4 years or more considering the care I take.
The interior is pretty confy, ther'es not much free space so it stays in place, fits nearly tight, doesn't jiggle nor tends to lower itself.
I figure out a way to both inhale and exhale without troubles, but at first the tongue (wich is removeable) kinda stucked in the muzzle so it blocked my air intake. I've learned to breath even when this happens and I associate this to my lack of experience.
The FOV it's a little reduced but it doesn' blocks anything that isn't razonably close to me. Anything at less than 1 meter from me it's a little obstruced but I'm 1.80 meters tall, thigns tend to be below my view and the head doesn't provide a lower view. It's not a trouble because I can see straight down trought the muzzle.
Its just as I imagined it would look like, the spots on the cheeks, the flopper ear, even the fluf on the neck and the gray hair. It's proportions are symetrical and throwing it to the laundry machine DOESN'T deforms or damage it, wich is a relief because I tend to wear it a lot and the maker garanteed me that I can wash it as many times i need to. Usually, I do it once a month and let it dry with no sun.
They provided me with eyelids wich are removeable with a velcro, I'd like to comission an extra pair or longer pair to wear "makeup" or completely close my eyes. Besides that, the smile and the option to wear the tongue outside of the mouth it's great for gestures.
They did change a little of the desing, precisely the hair between the ears and the spots, it was because I asked them to help me find a better style. With every art comission I get, the desing of this two characteristics varied a little each time, because I wasn't confortable with only one source and liked the idea to try different things. It was clear that a fursuit was supossed to be more of a permanent change, so I talked with the maker during the procces until we found something that I was completely confortable with.
The sleeves are confortable, I tend to wear a T-Shirt, the sleeves and a bigger shirt on top to hide the elastics. They stay in place but the maker had to make an adjustment because they were a little short at first. I didn't noticed this but they did and explained to me before fixing the lenght.
I love to wear different shirts and T-Shirts combinations, the color suits me to use different clothes, they itch a little because of the material but I solve this with long sleeves shirts. On the other hand, the airflow is really good even in summer, so it doesn't annoys me too much as long as I can get a break and some air
I asked for 4 fingers paws, got what I wanted and the room in each fingers its wide enough in each one to hold 2 fingers, so some times its difficult to hold things. I didn't complained about it because I can handle myself good enough or directly take it off so I don't spill any drink or food on it. Surprisingly I can play with a dualshock 4 without troubles or mayor issues.
When the weather is hot or I wore them for too long, and my hand sweat, the interior of the paw stick too much to my hand and I can't put it on once I wore it off, so I try to give myself breaks of 10 minutes each time I wore them off so it dries enough for my hand to fit perfectly.
They are a 10 out of 10, pretty confortable to hold things with 4 "fingers" and handle regular things as phones, mouse, joysticks, bikes, keys, drinks, glasses, bottles, etc
I try to not touch messy things like food, dirt or grass, to prevent stains. But in the mayority of ocassions I had to, if there were dust or crumbs on the fur, I could simply wipe it off with my bare hand or with a paper towel, or simply shaking it enough.
There's not much to be said, Im pretty slim so I can wear the belt without complications. It shrinks and enlarges as much as I need to but I tend to wear it inside my jeans along my regular belt, it's uncommon for me to wear the incorpoarted belt around me and over my clothes. When I do so, I feel the weight pushing down, but it's not something that itches, hamrs me or leave any kind of mark.
It's a 10 out of 10, long enough for not kick it while I walk, when I crouch it touches the floor and there's nothing to do about it BUT its easy to clean just as I said with the paws. Should keep in mind that I take really good care about both paws and tail because those parts can touch things by accident, so the contact with the floor and other stuff it's considerated and minimal.
The left ear is hanging a little, like a floppy ear. If I hold it gentlely it stays still like the right ear but not for much, long enough for take a picture. It's really light so I can shake my head around and the ear will follow the movement, wich is what i was expecting.
