I was put into contact with Mac via a local friend of his, who had started work on an Olli fursuit and thought that Mac would be a good fit to take the project to completion. Mac very conveniently had an open queue at the perfect time, and was already familiar with my character and very interested in bringing them to life. Within a day or two, I'd gotten Mac's contact info (Telegram), talked with him about the details, sent refs, gotten a quote and confirmed my interest in going forward. Whenever the maker needed anything from me (measurements, DTD, opinions on swatched/body shapes/etc), he supplied me with lots of photo reference and tutorials to make the process as easy as possible. Maker CommunicationMac would almost always respond to my messages within a day (two at most), and I felt like I was always kept in the loop about the progress of the suit. There were no long breaks between updates, he always used the same contact method and would send consistent updates as the project progressed. Conversation was always both professional and very friendly. Project Completion TimeI was given a completion time of an FWA debut (6 months), and was skeptical they could pull that off since they were working on other suit projects at the time as well. But they pulled it off! Everything was communicated to me very clearly. The suit was delivered to me in person (not shipped) at FWA; I just walked up to their hotel room, put Olli on, and walked out wearing him. Because the suit was made fairly quickly, some extra features of the suit (fursuit sandals and removeable eyelids) were not done in time for FWA, but both were finished shortly afterwards and shipped to me. The delay in those items was clearly communicated to me, so it was no problem at all. Overall Project QualityOverall, I'm extremely happy with the overall quality of this suit! Even though its my first one, its clear from my talks with other experienced suiters that Mac really did a fantastic job on the design, construction and craftmanship on this suit. It was absolutely worth the price I paid, and I'm confident that this suit will last me years and years of regular use. Everything matches up at the seams, and its very easy for me to put this fullsuit on (alone) within 5 minutes and have it looking perfect every time. Everything fits perfectly. The padding looks great, and even though there's a lot of it, the suit still somehow feels light on body rather than heavy. I think it feels light because, since the feet are attached, the suit is tensioned between the feet and the shoulders, rather than resting on the arm/legs/body anywhere. The unfortunate flipside of the feet being attached is that I'm not able to remove them and put on cool (human) shoes while fullsuiting. To be fair, I don't think I ever requested this feature when discussing the feet with Mac, so that's my bad! I think removeable feet would probably affect that "tension", too, so I understand if it's not possible with plush suits like this. That's literally the only thing I would "change" about the suit, and even then, it's probably not worth changing if it'd affect the amazing bodyshape Mac managed to pull off. I feel like this suit does look different than the maker's usual style, which is a compliment to his skillset! Obviously I didn't expect them to have made an alpaca before, but even then, I was a little picky about wanting the suit to match my art style, and I think they did a fantastic job of recreating my own artstyle with their own suit style. Again, I can't say enough good things about this suit's quality. Extremely happy with my purchase. Components Head Wear SatisfactionFor transparency, I want to state that the foam head base for this fursuit was created by Moopdrea (https://twitter.com/moopdrea) and not Mac. Moop was originally slated to complete an Olli fullsuit, but was only able to complete the carved foam head, after which the project (and head) were transferred to Mac. This was all on good terms; I believe the two of them are local friends, and loved Mac's work as well, so I didn't mind changing makers at all. Anyway! All that to say while the fullsuit was fully created by Mac, the foam head base of the Olli fursuit head was made by another maker. (I'm unaware if Mac did any modifications to the foam head once it was in his hands, but I gave them permission to.) Anyway: The head fits amazing. Its very secure on the head: Not too loose, not too tight, no pressure points, with still plenty of room to breathe in front. The visibility is AMAZING. I'm sure the big eyes help, but even so, when other suiter friends have tried on this head, they were really impressed with the visibility too. The only blindspot is a thin line right down the middle, which I think is unavoidable, but it's shockingly thin. Lining is extremely soft and comfortable. Ventilation is great: The mouth is open and plenty wide (Perfect for sticking necklace fans into it for a quick blast of air, etc). It gets hot, obviously, but as far as I can tell, it's the normal amount of hot that a fursuit head should get. Visual SatisfactionPerfect! I've yet to notice any errors or issues with it. The markings are exactly as I wanted them, the shaving is clean and even, and the use of long fur for the cheek tufts works great to replicate his character design. The fur is super soft, and very easy to brush. The eyes are static (my preference), and he did an EXCELLENT job of capturing the nontraditional eye style in the character refs. The expression fits the character wonderfully, and with the addition of velcro eyelids (finished by Mac at a later date, currently being mailed to me), he'll have even more expressions. The neck collar is a great length, and blends into the bodysuit perfectly. Mac has done a lot of big cat suits, and I know very few suit makers have made alpacas, but he nailed it. The hair in particular has a particular volume and swoosh to it, and Mac did a great job of translating the ref into real life. If I had to be picky, he could've gone even a little bigger with the hair, but I'm sure that probably comes with it's own downsides. Mac was great about making exactly the right design choices for both matching the ref and creating a clean, sharp, easy-to-wear and easy-to-maintain suit. One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionThe bodysuit fits fantastic. The suit is one piece, with attached feet, and 2 large pre-sewn padding pillows that are inserted into it when you're suiting up. It's a drop-crotch suit with "plush" proportions. I am 6' 2" and 230 lbs. Within a few hours of receiving it and with no fursuiting experience, I was able to fullsuit without a handler for 5+ hours. Needless to say, yeah, it fits great! The bodysuit allows for excellent movement (i'm able to do skateboard tricks in it, lol). Even after a bit of skateboarding, I've noticed no popped seams. Stress points (like the bottom of the zipper, which is in front) seem to be reinforced, and parts that need flexibility the most (the crotch, etc) feel like they've got the necessary stretch to give a wide range of motion without risk of tearing. I don't feel restricted in my movement at all, to be honest. The suit itself is not lined (standard), but the attached legs are lined with quilted cotton (very soft, very appreciated). The feet themselves don't seem to have anything besides cottom/felt in the bottom of them (like a shoe sole or foam pad or anything, etc). Without fursuit sandals, putting my feet in Olli's legs basically feels like putting on a pair of very thick and cozy socks. It's VERY comfy, but it does mean that when I suit without sandals, my feet do get sore a bit quicker. I think this is probably something specific to my suit, though, since I DID ask for tiny hooves rather than the classic Big Stompy Foam Hooves. Cleaning has been very easy. There are construction markings on the inside, but i've not noticed them bleed onto anything, and they're not visible from the outside. Because of the two big padding pillows, there's actually a lot of airflow in the suit (i.e. it doesn't feel like much of it contacts my body besides the shoulders, arms and legs). I could wear the bodysuit for hours and hours without needing to take it off: when suiting for extended periods, the only thing I need to remove when I cool off is the head and hands. Genuinely surprised how not-hot and not-stuffy it is! Visual SatisfactionAgain, the overall shape and proportions are fantastic. I wanted a pretty specific kind of drop crotch, big haunch body shape to match the character design (minus the long neck, obviously), and Mac NAILED it. The zipper to enter the suit, which goes right down the front of the suit, is super easy to zip/unzip and is basically invisible. I also asked for small hooves on the feet as opposed to Big Stompers, to emphasize the hip size. Again, nailed it. Shaving looks great, and I love the use of different lengths of fur on the tummy; absolutely perfect. If I'm being super picky, the shaving of the long fur on the back goes straight across and paired with the short fur under it, looks a little like a vest? But again, looks absolutely perfect in front, and i'm not sure how else you'd do the back tbh. Again, i'm being super picky looking for ANYTHING to critique, cause otherwise there's not much I can give besides praise. The contrast of shorter fur on the body + longer fur on the arms/legs is exactly like the character design, and was translated perfectly into the suit. I usually give cartoonish tufts/spikes of fur at the tops of the arms/legs, and even this was translated into the suit! The tufts on the arms/legs can be adjusted to point up or down (i usually keep them up). So far, I've noticed no issues with color bleeding. The colors are absolutely perfect. We talked a lot about which colors would work best, and i'll admit I wasn't 100% positive that our finally choices for the colors would work out, even after confirming the swatches. I was right to trust Mac though, as the colors play PERFECTLY with each other and match exactly what I was hoping for. Using multiple different browns to create the dappled, splotchy brown hip pattern was extremely well done. Olli's tummy design is a veeery subtle pink, and I'm shocked Mac was able to find a color that was perfectly, subtlely pink to play with the beige. I love that the padding for the suit is simply two big pre-sewn Polyfill pillows: One teardrop-shaped pillow for the tummy, and one big U-shaped pillow that wraps around the butt to create the butt+thighs. It makes getting into suit very easy (I can get into suit alone in about 5 minutes). It also makes transporting the Olli suit easy: When space-bagged, the pillows fill one half of a large suitcase, and the rest of the bodysuit fills the other. The pillows are SUPER soft as well, and don't feel hot against skin. The two pillows work extremely well to create the drop crotch tummy and thick hips of the character. The attached feet are permenantly filled with Polyfill, which works well to preserve their shape, and squish down easily when space-bagging the bodysuit. The only nitpicks I can think of: I am starting to notice that because the yellow fur of the legs goes all the way down to hide the foot (a brilliant choice to make the foot look smaller), it does mean that lower yellow fur gets dirty pretty quickly. Thankfully, its pretty easy to clean, and wearing fursuit sandals (which Mac also made for me) helps prevent that from getting dirty too. Also: After a convention or two, I noticed some pencil markings inside the body suit. There were 3 parallel lines marked on the side of the tummy. Olli's character refs show that he has subtle stretchmarks on the side of his tummy, usually represented by 3 lines. It looks like the spots for stretchmark markings were drawn on inside the suit, but never cut/patterned out. Honestly, this took me a while to notice, so obviously it's not an essential marking, but it does seem like it might've been forgotten (by both him and me, oops). Also, I did find exactly 1 sewing pin hidden in the leg tufts, but it took me over 40 hours of wear to discover it, and I never once felt it. Can't blame him for missing it! Hands Wear SatisfactionThe hands fit great! I requested 3-finger hoof hands, and that's exactly what I got. They're nice and small, which means they're easy to quickly take off to cool down, and easy to store in the fursuit head for transport when partialling. I believe they're felt, like the feet, as opposed to hard plastic hooves or anything like that, and I definitely prefer the softness. They fit my hands great, and allow for pretty good movement considering their shape. I'm able to do handboard skate tricks with them, play music games with them, and operate my necklace fan with them, so that's good enough for me! Quality and durability seem great. No issues with popped seams, etc. They're exactly what they need to be. Interior is nice and soft, same material as the fursuit head interior I think. Visual SatisfactionSymmetry is perfect, the different colors for the tips are perfect, it all matches the character design exactly how I wanted. When worn with the fullsuit, they very effectively blend into the arm, getting rid of the arm-to-hand seam very well. So, there's no way to attach the hand to the fullsuits arm, which makes them very easy to quickly remove, but it also means its a little easier for gaps between the arm and hand to be visible when the arm is stretched in certain ways. I might see if there's some sort of way to make the hands attachable to the arms in the future, but honestly that's just a small quality-of-life upgrade. As is, they still do an amazing job of completing the fullsuit illusion. They're flexible enough to create a variety of hand gestures as well, even with just the 3 fingers. Tail Wear SatisfactionAlong with the non-detachable tail that is sewn onto the fullsuit, Mac created a slightly smaller stand-alone Olli tail for me that was attachable via beltloops, for the purpose of partialling. If I'm honest, I haven't worn this tail yet, but it looks essentially identical to the tail sewn into the fullsuit, and the loops are a nice firm elastic so it should be very easy to put on. Visual SatisfactionThe partial tail looks just like the one sewn into the Olli fullsuit, though around 75% of its size to better match body proportions when partialling. It has the exact shape I wanted it to, matching the character sheet perfectly. The yellow spots also match the character perfectly, and the long fur is exactly what I wanted for it. Again, I'm 6'2" and 230 lbs. I'm a pretty big guy, and probably not the usual fursuiter size. Mac was still able to make a uniquely proportioned suit of a nontraditional species fit comfortable and cool for long use, AND the whole thing still fits in a single airline-friendly checked bag.
