Wear Time15 Informed Maker of IssuesYes: I shared while in person that the head was uncomfortably tight around my neck/head, and they assured me this effect would lessen the more I wore the head. This was intended to not make the head 'flop' loosely later on in the suit's life. The pillows proved challenging/annoying to set in place in the digigrade legs, and they accepted shipment back to sew in some of the pillows for leg shaping. I broke the primary zipper upon getting into the suit, and they made additional fixes to lengthen the zipper and make it easier for myself to repair if a similar incident recurs. My tolerance for heat is not great, and the head's nose/mouth openings did not improve airflow as much as I thought. The makers shared multiple tips and recommendations for fursuiting in general, so I will avoid any heat or breathing issues. Longest I ever waited on a response was a week, even if the response was along the lines of "hey we got your question, we're [in this situation] and will get you an answer by [date]". Even in such a case, they honored their estimations and got me a solid answer by their estimations. I gave inputs during the creation process, including questioning then later approving color of furs used, and shaping of the ears. Most incremental updates were met with positive "yes that's perfect!" so I didn't have many changes to request. Project Completion TimeWhile I'd originally expected a full fursuit by FWA 2022, the team was able to deliver a completed partial by that time (delivered in-person at the convention): head, one set of hooves, hands, and tail. The bodysuit and outdoor hooves were delivered a few months later (July -> September 2022) in the mail, and I am overall happy and content with the completion time even if the original ETA was not fully met. Wearing this whole package of walking carpet makes me sweat more and have to walk a little more carefully, but that is a minuscule price to pay to look like my horse character and actually enjoy and pursue hugs. All parts are durable and comfortable, and designed with longevity in mind. This was Suits You's first horse, but I couldn't tell – the hooves, tail, digigrade legs, and head are shaped perfectly, in my opinion. Quintree's design means this won't be the standout pride and joy of this maker's gallery, but he fits right in with their overall style and I am proud to have him. Working with the makers from start to finish and even beyond into repairs has been easy and worth every penny. Components Head Wear SatisfactionThe head is all one piece, with no straps/zippers/velcro to hold it in place. Thus, when I first put it on, I thought I was going to choke from the tight fit underneath my chin/neck. After this initial scare, each subsequent use has gotten easier – I can slide the head into place with a bit of wrestling, making sure my chin squeezes into place within the snout, and I can do this with bare hands or while wearing the fursuit hands. The mouth and nostrils are technically open for ventilation, thought these 'point' to my chin rather than mouth/nose, so breathing must be measured with some care. Eyes open up relatively high to allow for the equine head shape, so I am forced to lean my head and chin lower than usual to retain 'regular' forward vision and see people or the ground I'm walking towards. Some fur bits or construction material can get into my eyes, forcing me to take the head off to clear my face/vision, though this has decreased in frequency the longer I've used/worn the head. I can wear this comfortably without a balaclava/mask, though it is most comfortable with one, since my ears can fold down upon pulling the head down into place. Sweat concerns are handled easily, where I can spray with isopropyl alcohol mixture and air dry after each use. I bought a third-party stand for this purpose, which helps keep the mane along the back of the head from becoming misshapen/matted. Visual SatisfactionI had anticipated I would have 3D 'follow-me' eyes with this suit and was surprised to see the 2D toony eyes, but these work for me, and they are the 'worst' part of the head for me. The wide eyes and shape of the mouth make for a generally glad, neutral expression, which is exactly what I wanted. The green 'highlights' in the mane/hair are exactly how I pictured them entering reality from the ref sheet, and I loved the addition of having the front section of the mane be 'floppy' so I could toss it side to side or up and down with exaggerated head movements. The face is comfy to pet, including cheeks snout ears and mane – all around a happy horse, with great shaping and fur-shaving that has not deteriorated with time and use thus far. One-Piece Body Wear SatisfactionPutting on my fursuit's main body can be done solo, which I had requested from the makers, though is made easier if a helper can assist tugging the upper shoulders over my upper arms/shoulders. Aside from sliding it on as if it were pajamas, the only mechanism to hold it in place is the sole, primary zipper along the front of the torso. This can occasionally get stuck in the chest's fluffier fur, though this has never been an exceptionally difficult issue to resolve. Seam quality has never been questioned by me; even if the occasional quick motion or fast sit-down can make parts of the suit tug at my joints or hips, I've not popped any seams. No lining on the inside, so it is most comfortable to wear along with long-sleeved undergarments (top and bottom), though not problematic (i.e. I'd only be itchy if I wore the bodysuit without a shirt or torso covering). I don't have much experience at all wearing others' fursuits, so my description of airflow should be regarded with a bit of salt: I can feel general breezes while in suit, but general airflow feels cut off, especially while additionally wearing the head, hands, and hooves (feet). This heated, stuffy effect is not immediate upon putting on the suit; just becomes apparent after 30-60 minutes. This sensation can be handled with hydration and breaks in a headless fursuit lounge, for example. Sweat can collect in some spots like the crotch and armpits, but these are easily handled after suiting with cleaning, since the bodysuit is capably of being safely turned inside out for immediate spraying after an outing or even machine washing after a convention. Visual SatisfactionI am blown away by the bodysuit appearance! My main character reference sheet has marks on the shoulders, but otherwise the body is all one toony shade of brown. The makers of Suits You added accents via different lengths of fur, giving this anthro horse a fluffier chest and accented thighs/butt with thinner-shaved fur. Aside from these (positive!) creative liberties, Quintree the fursuit matches Quintree the reference sheet. Markings on the ankles/legs, forearms, and shoulders are permanently affixed via different colors of fur, and these show no indications of peeling apart or separating. All fur feels evenly spread, and patterns of markings travel seamlessly between sections of longer/shorter fur (notably see the brown zigzag stripe on his left shoulder going across the chest). Hands Wear SatisfactionThese hands can be interchangeable between left and right due to symmetric crafting. As long as I get my thumb in the correct section, the hands fit just fine. The fingers feel slightly short for me, where the digit's separations never reach my knuckles, though I've never felt like they might slip off. They are held by friction, normally with the main body suit's sleeves, or they can be tucked over a long sleeved shirt and retain their position just as easily. The hands have a short sleeve of their own, so showing wrist is never a concern. Gripping some items can be a struggle since these do not have palm pads, though the fingertips allow decent dexterity with shorter material. Cleaning these is easy to brush through, and a quick spray and air-dry keeps these stink- and sweat-free. Visual SatisfactionWhile following a simple design, the hands are spot on what I wanted for Quintree. Fingertips are just dexterous black fur, shorter than the rest of the hand's longer fur. This longer, brown fur is the exact same length and material as used on the primary body suit, making a seamless visual transition even though the physical construction is just the hand sleeves tucked into the arm sleeves. Having the front (palm) and back match identically is not a concern for me; moreso a benefit so I don't need to fiddle long with which hand goes where. Tail Wear SatisfactionThe tail is constructed in a way that requires an external belt of my choice. Two loops anchor to the base of the tail, and these remain solid after use with and without the body suit. I like wearing my tail on its own, without any other fursuit part! Comfortable weight, not so flexible, but can be shifted aside to sit. This hasn't shown any signs of tearing on the anchor loops yet, from my regular use. Feels wrong if I put it on upside down, so using as intended has been all I wanted thus far! Retained its shape and colors (which were made via different colored furs, not highlighting/painting) throughout, with no concerns of these fading or lessening. Length is perfect with the ref sheet and doesn't drag, tends to bounce comfortably against my calves in motion. Visual SatisfactionThe tail is Quintree's tail brought to life! I love the toony green 'highlights' that are physically distinct sections of different colored furs, and the distinct curl of the tail is what I wanted all along. Easy to brush after use, and simple to wear with the fursuit body and on its own, long as I use a regular belt. Feels and looks great, exactly as I'd expect it to sway and bounce gently as I walk – hip sways are 3x as common if I'm standing still wearing it! Feet Wear SatisfactionThe hooves (feet) are as easy to wear as massive slippers. Inside lining is comfortable, though could risk rougher rubbing at the calves where the lining transitions to the outer brown fur (if wearing without long socks/pants). Movement is easy, just requires a bit of care to not bump feet into the opposite leg's calves due to the wider footprint. Wearing them as-is risks them sliding slowly off my feet with each step, where my heel would end up pinching down more and more of the inner lining – this is corrected completely by inserting Crocs shoes inside each foot. My feet are anchored in the Crocs, and the Crocs provide stronger friction against the inner lining to avoid slipping while I walk. This is the same for both sets of hooves built, the indoor (with hooves and horseshoe patterned on the bottom) and outdoor. Wearing either indoor or outdoor is a similar experience; both feel light even while bulky wide. Sweat flowing down into the inner lining is a relative concern, but this has been alleviated/resolved thus far with appropriate time air-drying along with isopropyl alcohol fursuit spray. Visual SatisfactionSuper cool!! Hooves match what I wanted from Quintree, where there is a *little* fluff for horse feathers while not exaggeratedly so big. Only difference between indoor/outdoor sets is on the underside, otherwise they appear indistinguishable and blend with the bodysuit's visuals splendidly. Indoor hooves' design is simple and cute, and matches a cartoony vibe of a real horse's hoof appearance, including the frog (which I didn't know was the word for that part of a horse's hoof before, haha). Fur shaving is even all around, only minor concern is at the heel which can clump or get matted with enough walking if I drag my heels inadvertently. I am thrilled to have hired them for my first fursuit and for my main fursona; it is so fun to get to BE Quintree for a while. They answered all my questions and addressed my concerns, even agreed to take on repairs after the final shipment date when I made mistakes, so they honored their warranty agreement. I recognize they don't have enough time to take on any and all fursuit design requests, but I hope folks give Suits You a chance when considering different fursuit makers!
