The head sits comfortably and doesn’t move around. It’s not tight and the airflow is through the mouth and eyes. It is also lined with a comfortable balaclava material. I can spot clean the head easily without hurting anything on it.
The vision is pretty good since the eyes are pretty wide, and the blind spots are typical of a fursuit with a muzzle. The peripherals are actually pretty decent as my previous head was very standard in that area.
I am VERY satisfied! She totally made my grumpy boy have his typical grump expression. I also love how Muttmix did the stripes on the backs of his ears. There was a couple things missed though. First, I asked for the eye shine on the eyes to be in the shape of a skull. I wasn’t told until after she’d finished and installed the eyes and I asked why it hadn’t been added. She said they ended up not being able to do it due to how it looked, but I really wish instead of just installing them and going with what she wanted, she would have contacted me to work out an alternative.
He also is missing his gauges even though I requested them, they are in his ref, and was even told at one point when I questioned them not being added (I did this at multiple stages as I wasn’t sure about how to build a head and didn’t think they’d be installed at all) that Muttmix was on the way to get materials to be able to add them. They were never added and I never really got an explanation as to why. I ended up having to make my own makeshift ones later on. I just wish if something requested couldn’t be added for whatever reason, that Muttmix would message me and let me know so alternatives could be worked out, rather than have me assume it was forgotten.
I also requested a removable tongue so that I could change them around and add on different lengths but I think that was overlooked as I did have to correct Muttmix on a few things as she kept only going by the ref sheet and not referring to the added details in the initial commission message. Muttmix had started to make his ears like the ref, but had missed I’d requested a more rounded spotted hyena ear. It was fixed, but it just made it clear that the details weren’t being taken into account. Not a big deal!
The back of the neck was also just a smidge too short, but that could very easily have been a problem with my DTD (and honestly most likely was). This was repaired without issue by Muttmix!
It’s super comfortable and easy to wear the body. It isn’t lined (which is typical) and I honestly think that works better as the fur itself does have a tiny bit of airflow that probably would be hindered by the lining. The inside sewing and such is all clean, nothing unprofessional looking, even the sewing for the markings are clean and seams are smooth. The padding is in the form of pillows which are lined with a comfortable material and are easy to put in and take out and wash.
The arms were a little short, but that may have been an issue with the DTD (and again, probably was) and it was fixed by Muttmix when I shipped Riot back a bit after for minor repairs.
The suit allows for very comfortable movement. I have full range of my arms and legs and I don’t feel restricted doing any extreme motions. I also don’t feel like anything will pop or rip when I move around in him. I’ve danced and played in him and he’s held up just fine!
I LOVE the bodysuit. The padding shape is pretty much EXACTLY how I like it and it’s Muttmix’s new pattern. I also love the grape bunny and beaver furs that make up the body. The purple color matches his ref perfectly and I get loads of compliments on how it looks and the choice of fur used. The suit doesn’t really need to be brushed at all, the fur is such high quality. I just kinda lightly brush it when I go out. Muttmix even nailed Riot’s lightning bolt marking on his back and the transition between furs is smooth.
I also like the various lengths of the fur on the body. The belly has shorter fur that transitions nicely into the longer furred areas.
The padding are on pillows and are removable for ease of wash and the bodysuit is safe in the washing machine on delicate and turned inside out!
The hand paws are very comfortable to wear and don’t feel too tight or too loose like they’re ready to fall off. They have a neat little fleece cuff and both the hand paws and feet paws have a ‘Made By Muttmix’ label that I thought looked so cute and professional. The digits are padded and the padding is easy to remove for easy cleaning and non restrictive to the fingers.
The paw pads and claws are made of a lime green vinyl and the ‘x’ marking on the paw pad is executed well and everything’s sewn together nicely with the seams smooth.
The feet paws are lined and very comfortable with an outdoor sole. The feet don’t have any shoes inside and are made slipper style with memory foam soles making them so comfortable I often wear them around the house as house shoes! The claws are made of vinyl and will probably need to be repaired or replaced as the tips are being torn from regular walking around, but that’s probably just normal wear and tear.
I love how the hand and feet paws look. The shape of the padding on them both are a really cute aesthetic. The shape of the toes is something I’m weirdly picky on and I just love Muttmix’s pattern with them so much I really want to buy some indoor paws for Riot! The unusual hand paw design (the X on Riot’s palm) is well done and symmetrical. The different color furs all transition nicely and I love how Muttmix shaved the white tips on both the hand and feet paws down more in contrast to the purple longer fur.
I was given two different tails for Riot. One is a partial that was given as compensation for the missed deadline and the other tail is attached to the bodysuit. The attached tail actually works out better for the overall look of the suit. The fur chosen also is a great choice because the fur moves naturally as the tail swings with my movement.
The partial tail is able to be attached via belt loops and they are very sturdy and well sewn.
I love how the fur moves naturally when it swings with my movement. The attached tail was also a better idea from Muttmix as it made the bodysuit look a bit more seamless.
I absolutely love how Muttmix made the padding to fit my body type SO WELL. I hadn’t seen them do many digitigrade body suits for more rounder folks, but I honestly think the pattern design she created works SO SO WELL with a bigger body type, I get SO many compliments on the shape of the legs so much so that it tends to be requested that I pose with my leggy out! ha ha!
Contact methods were multiple, but that was based on which social media account the other was using at the time. It wasn’t a big issue, especially since I also initiated contact on their other social media accounts. It is basically whatever is easiest for the customer at that time, Muttmix is very flexible!
Riot’s tail was supposed to be attached, but because she made him available for me as a partial so I could have something for the con, she made one tail separate, and attached another tail to his actual bodysuit. She gave me the tail and a cute prop as compensation for the missed deadline. I thought that was awesome because I wanted to be able to wear him as a partial too, but had already agreed to an attached tail (it looks and works better that way on the bodysuit).
Riot was finished and delivered to me on Valentine’s Day 2017. Tracking number didn’t work and I’m not sure it was the right one as I asked the post office personally and they said it wasn’t valid. I paid for overnight shipping and he was late so I think Muttmix hadn’t shipped him the day she said. A little frustrating,as I live on a main busy road and have to watch the post so packages aren’t taken, but it ended up not being a big deal.
I did have to send Riot back for minor repairs. A seam popped on a hand paw (which is typical and not a big deal) and just to correct the arm and neck length since it was my first time creating a full body DTD. He was sent over and repaired and sent home in time for Halloween so that was cool!

The only problem I had with muttmix is communication. I would have liked to have been consulted when there were issues with my requests so that I could have chosen a different alternative. Other than that I think I had a good experience working with Muttmix. There were some bumps and such, but everything was worked out because Muttmix is so kind and accommodating. Any time there was a mistake or I was unhappy with something, she was quick to try and find a remedy for the situation and NEVER combative about it. She always apologized for any mistakes.
I also do have to say that she does forget that she asks for added details to go along with a ref sheet (things like wanting vinyl pads instead of minky and stuff like that) and for her to remember to also check that and not just go solely on the ref sheet.
Other than that I had a pretty good experience and walked away with a VERY VERY high quality suit that I will cherish forever. I also LOVE that this maker is so involved with their “fursuit family” and plans little events and gives little goodies to her customers sometimes. It just makes the whole experience a fun one!
